Thank you for this video! Would it not make sense to use both approaches, ie have your own online course sold through your own website (using a course builder platform), but alongside that, sell your course via a course marketplace platform too?
Sure! But I think then those should be two entirely different courses. One could be like a 1-2-hour introductory and then the other like a 10-20-hour flagship course with a community etc. perks that the marketplace intro course doesn’t offer. Just so that your students won’t choose the always-discounted Udemy (etc.) course for $10 instead of buying the $200 version. So just trying to say that in my opinion there should be a big difference so that even if your people notice that you sell another one for cheaper price, they still find the expensive one valuable enough to buy. Just my thought :)
@@artturiexplores thank you - yes, I was thinking of creating a shorter and cheaper version for the marketplace. Right now I need to build awareness (that I even exist!), so the marketplace feels like it could offer a valuable shop window... Really appreciate the reply here, thank you. Have you made a video which offers a comparison of the different course marketplaces? If so, please share the link as I would love to watch it!
They do respond but recently I’ve received some template responses and then I’ve needed to ask again which is a bit lame and not so good. But also sometimes the responses are very detailed and good.
Kartra is more of an all in one tool for business management (marketing, sales funnels, automation). Thinkific is best for online course creation and student engagement-especially for beginner course creators working alone (like myself, that's why I use Thinkific.) But if you have a team or a more advanced use case/needs, I'd probably go LearnWorlds or Kartra over Thinkific. :)
