One can only imagine what your electric bill looks like each month. The Koi look great. You should be able to find new homes for many of them, with no difficulty. Great job you do at your facility. Hope Tracy is still showing improvement. God bless you and stay fishy, all.

I am pretty sure you guys don't need any more on your plates, but seeing all those tanks and you talking about beefing up the filtration I got to thinking, Man, If each of those tanks had a grow bed attached to them you could have enough veggies for a farmers market!I don't even want to think about how much work would be involved in getting something like that started, but it was fun thinking about connecting all your ponds with a system of PVC pipes and watching those grow beds fill up with water. Probably would have to have an engineering degree to set it up. Keep up the good work guys. You and your vids are awesome and i enjoy them very much.

I would kill to have some of those koi. Lost 16 last year due to a few herrons. Fortunately my koi had babies this year and my fry are now 4-6" so hopefully my pond will be re stocked to capacity next year!
The barrel shower filters are extremely simple and effective. Anyone in need of serious bio filtration for pennies should look into one. If one thing I would add to it, is to add a couple of filter pads or batting to help collect the solids for easy removal.

I just got done digging a koi pond for my family.. We would love to re-home some of your smaller koi that you guys dont need...
Guys get yourself a matrix of peppermint plant or Sweetmint. Knock off all the dirt and throw all you can into your trashcan filter. Doesn’t even need direct sunlight. Mint roots can be submerged in water completely. This will yank out so much of the ammonia in your Koi pond it’ll make your head spin. It’s technically Aquaponics but Aquaponics don’t like growing mint in their bins as it will take over and it’ll pull out all the nutrients for the other plants if you have too much in. Other herbs will do this but just go with the mint. It also guarantees less water changes as it is born of aquaponics.

Fill the water up to 15cm from the top. Notice in all vids lately the koi tanks/pond has always been either just under of just over halfway full.

Koi only jumps if there is something wrong. It's not a jumping fish. Koi are bottom feeders.
Get those canister filters out of the system. They will be a parasite nest when used with kois.
Get a big tank and fill it up with japp matts and air.

Yes he is, only really moves when ppl come in or it's time for food. He will be in the Bellagio soon

Why all the negativity & nastiness to OFR? OFR would do NOTHING to hurt these fish! Keep your skull shut, be patient & see what they are thinking before insulting them. BTW, I see a couple of Showa Koi I wouldn't mind having, but I think I have to have a pond 1st. Oh! That and live in the vicinity. 😜🤣
Nice problem to have - too many big koi. Elsewhere, another FishTuber had to settle for a dozen sardine-sized ones for his new pond. Lol. Stay busy and stay fishy, guys.

ok im motivated to do my waterchange lol, im on rain water so i need to fill a wheely bin (only used for fish water from new) with water, put kh and gh into it, and heat it up before i can waterchange my tanks. i need to come up with a better system lol

yes we have moved koi out of the tank and into other tanks/ponds to lower the filtration problems

koi are docile they would get fin nipped till they die, so we cant put any koi i the pond

I know it just Josh and Big Rich appearing in the videos, but they must have other members of OFR show up to give them a hand. Big Rich is very busy with Tracy and is using his time working on the fish as stress relief, I've been there and done that myself, and Josh seems to be holding up well too. So how about a video of all the people who show up other than to move 1,800 gallon tanks around? SFMF!

Do you decloranate the water for the water changes or do you just fill the tank and let it sit 24hrs? I watched a older video of a pond going in the front yard. Did you move from there?
Koi only jump when water parameters are crap. Or they have parasites on them. I had a goldfish pond and put koi in and they jumped. Impossible to keep parameter correct. Built a proper koi pond with a bottom drain. And a huge filter and then not one koi jumped in the 11 years I had that pond.
or when you overstock the tank like we did on this last koi rescue. so we keep the level down just in case
Ohio Fish Rescue i have never had the overstocking issue. I go with 1000litres of space to one koi.
