This is the most professional I've heard fighting game commentators sound. Usually they're sloppy, joke way too much and are more interested in meme bullshit than commentating on the matches. Whereas here, there's commentating on what's going on, what should be done, mistakes that are made, things that are being done well, etc. Educated, experienced commentators that take their role seriously. It's quality presentation and respectful to the competitors and the audience. Very nice.
I'll have to agree, I recently got into fighting games and watching tournaments. But I usually would watch Spanish tournaments because stuff I saw by Americans were just annoying commentators that think memes attract a new audience, it literally drew me away lol. But oh well.
Dead or Alive and Virtua Fighter need a lot more attention here in the States. With how the movement works, the flow is incredible, and the moves and characters are awesome!
i get the feeling that in the west Street Fighter and Tekken overshadow everything. Makes me wonder how popular Dead Or Alive, Virtual Fighter, King of Fighter, or BlazBlue are in Japan and the rest of Asia
The problem a lot of people have with DOA is the hold system, they think it breaks the game and makes it boring... But I personally don't think it does, in fact, I've seen DOA matches go sometimes significantly faster than SFV matches more times than not.
I wish doa honestly got the same level of recognition as tekken, mk & streetfighter. In terms of movement and flow it just feels so much better than them.
Why does this not have more views? I find myself looking for tournaments for every well-known (or obscure) fighting games simply to observe how people think and make their next move. These people are truly tacticians!
Lol i do the same and YES they are...i play fighting games as well and you HAVE to be....your brain has to plan for like 3 things every 2.5 seconds but its fun
Loved this tournement! It was hella hype, the matches were good and PL came out to do work for the first time in a long time for DOA. Videogamesislife is a beast! Everyone did great! Awesome event!🤘
its also not taken seriously as a fighting game because of how intensely fanservice-y it is imho. like i think mechanically its good and the animations are all strong too but when you invest soo much into panty shots and big boobs its hard to be taken seriously as a big fighting game. ofc there's other problems too but i think this contributes
I like Blackberrys signature Ayane combo, that final launch with both feet first hits every time even if it always look like a miss. Blackberry is GOOD but would benefit greatly from mastering more characters. Had he pulled out Kula he could have been the one to face Xcalibur in the final. Anyway CrzSteady is a great player too, his Nico is awesome and Nico is good overall, smart move to chose her. Fun to see Rikuto there, he been around a while now.
@@SorrySock8435 not compared to 5 that's the problem. Mk11 is the same, tekken 7 is fun but it's way too easy compared to tag 2 so you are only playing it for fun not fun and progression

No thinks like mk which i love. Like towers or different ways to get charms, koins, costumes, banners stuff like that. Individual Customization. I love it, but doa doesn't do that with their overpriced dlc I want it to succeed and more stuff for guys.
hello im about to buy this game or street fighter 5 or MK11, im more hyped with this because it seems to me more various with martial arts styles. what i didnt get is what im gonna buy with the game... how many characters ? I read that DLC are so expensive..
@@frankcobbs8350 i actuallt bought the full game in offert, i like the conbat system martial arts etc, i dont like costume and progress and also bit many people playing online atleast where i live so maybe Tekken would be Better for online matches
The commentary was pretty good but if I had to criticize one thing is how much emphasis they put over the prize pot. I think prize pot is important but the core value of fighting games is pride; even during the "grudge" set they overemphasised the money over the pride in beating the other dude. Just my thoughts on the matter, otherwise pretty insightful and engaging for someone like me who is starting only now to get into DOA
I miss playing DOA but I think the series took a nose dive when they started focusing on making 100's of costumes for microtransactions rather than making the game better. DOA6 seems pointless as DOA5:LR seems like a better game anyway.
Cuz DOA's not hardcore. Its pretty chill and campy. Makes for good fun and relaxing. It be like relaxing after a hard day at work, y'know? Just have fun
@@Love-Sensibility Seriously though. All fighting game competitions should be chill and fun. That is why I like DoA. It has not created a fan base that fakes being serious. People playing DoA know why they do and they enjoy every second of it. And to me this is as hardcore and truly dedicated as it can get. Players have gone beyond frustration and just enjoy existing and having fun.

DOA6 only came out 2 years ago and already looks kind of old, while DOA5 came out in 2012 and still looks amazing? Was there just no budget for this entry?
Man, those skirts fly up at a _moment's_ notice. It's to the point where I wonder why the characters bother wearing them in-universe, as they certainly aren't covering anything.
Maybe bc Team Ninja is so fucking lazy and don’t really care about making the game better? Honestly doa6 is really fun and I wish more people played it but I’m so disappointed with Team Ninjas approach to this game.
Cause this version got made way too easy and way less flashy while being much easier so it's just bland compared to 5. The new characters fail in comparison as well to 5. You got like what? 4 Virtua fighter characters, phase 4, alpha, rig, Mai, that 1 samurai chick forgot her name, Rachael, female tengu and they all play different with a complexed already fighting system. Tekken 7 sucks and mk11 sucks way more but this game man what a sad story
Sora Kazama i know I feel like they were just rushing to release this game which was their biggest mistake. Id rather wait and have the game complete and better but nope Team Ninja rushed the fuck out of this game 🙄 Kula and Mai were nice additions. But compared to 5 you’re right this game just can’t compare... and the costumes are literally from 5 and the Witch dlc was so disappointing no diversity at all. All the same just different colors meanwhile on doa5 every character has different Halloween costumes. It’s all about the money now and pleasing the wrong people 😞

Watching this after playing tekken 7 is a weird experience. Like it looks vaguely familiar, but all the disjointed hitboxes and weird movements is throwing this game into an uncanny valley.
the punches don't feel a weight/power, the reason why i hate the game. if only they add a few screen shakes and louder sound effect on certain attacks, i'm in.

I would love it they make a new DoA and add less women characters and more male characters. There's a lot that can be explored in martial arts and DoA's the perfect game for that cuz its flexible and fun. The characters doesn't all have to be women, y'know...
