Very interesting listen. Wasn't a Billy fan at Flemington when I first started attending but, quickly grew to love his racing style. You knew your guy was gonna move up every time you watched him race. That makes it all worth going and cheering. My fondest memory hands down was one night in the 90's at Georgetown. Billy was put to the back during the race for some reason but, came back to win! The announcer interviewed him and, after sticking the checkered flag in the mud in victory lane he says " I guess they wanted a show so, I gave them one." Never forgot that night. That and those crappy, 4" off the dirt grandstands.

Whenever I was able to catch Senior in live action he was driving the Barker Bus car. alway's expected a night of excitement at OCFS when he pulled in. There's no substitute foe experience and knowledge. I think there's a ton of drivers can learn alot just from this video alone as well as more than just the racing Industry.

The one thing that stood out to me that your Dad said was, basically if you want to be good, you have to work on the car to get know it. I totally agree! I'm an older racer (64) running FWD cars at Grandview. Yeah I know I can't beat the young guys, but that's not why I race. It keeps me "young" and involved in racing. The hope is to pass my knowledge of building these cars on to my grandson who wants to drives in 2 years. But I told him exactly what your dad said Mandy. If you don't learn to work on the car and get to know the car, you can't drive the car. Great advice by you Pop!

Outstanding pod cast Mandee. Love listening to Billy Sr. the quintessential racer from "the good old days" when racing was really racing. He is right on when discussing the old style cars compared to today's 'flash in the pan" hardware.

Fantastic show!!!! Your Dad..."The Kid" is such a legend in racing. I could listen to him for hours and hours. I'm sure he has some funny stories to tell, if you could move him in that direction. I still think it would be great if you could have a "ladies night", with your Mom, Mike's Mom, and any other ladies from behind the scenes. Share their views on what it's like to deal with their racers, and having them gone so much. Could maybe give you a bit of insight on your future, Mandee. 😉

The keystone 126 and the Barker Bus had Flemington hooked up! The kid knew how to get around that track without lifting and staying on line without being sideways and was a master of coming off the long back stretch into 3 and carrying that speed out of 4 staying tight right through the short chute and taking the checkered from Harry Dee like week after week after week after week after week after week after week.......
After week after week after week after week like
    HOLY SHEET!
    LMAO!
    ILL NEVER FORGET IT BILLY!
And Blame Dave Adams for Bridgeport! It's his fault! Lol
