For some context on the excitement, Contingency Contract is one of the playerbase's most beloved game modes, which basically consists of a "Build Your Own Challenge" gimmick, and the current run is coming to and end with CC12 (on the Chinese servers, for global its still 6 months away). Pair that with the extremely nice beat, and you get the crazy enthusiasm.
The main boss of this stage is also a part of the beta version of Contingency Contract, and he's even buffed than before now. It felt like the best farewell to the most challenging (arguably) gamemode in Arknights and also a greet to a newer, improved version of Contingency Contract.
*a small sprinkle of spoiler: While all previous CCs are a “remix” maps that contain a variety of enemies existing in the game, this one has a new but familiar custom boss inside the map.

I love the djent sounds, from the heavy down tuned guitar riffs(or is it an 8 string?) and the sick drum patterns. The off beat snares and kick triplets hit hard, messed me up the first time I jammed to this song lol. The synths also added a lot to this song, the final breakdown was so satisfying. Also, ive seen others comment the context of this song and its hype, so I'll add more! The beta version of this gamemode had a small mob enemy called the "Hateful Avenger" who had a flaming katana when they're low on hp. That event buffed him so much he ANNIHILATED us, a single love tap from him one-shotted all our characters to dust. He's so famous in the community (nicknamed him redblade, or red weeb) that the devs decided to give him his own badass story and lore, and "unofficially" the lobby theme from Contingency Contract 2: Art of Blade as his own theme (he's just a mob enemy gah dayum). Now for the final season of this gamemode, the devs decided to go full circle and add the katana man from beta back. But this time, he has a new form, new appearance, and is back for revenge as a *Boss* enemy. CC#12 Basepoint is essentially this reborn red weeb's own theme song haha, the lyrics make him more of a badass.

watched this before i think but never commented basepoint just came out on global so i was paying a bit more attention to the song I used to not be much of a fan of metal-type music (though I do enjoy it now, at the very least I have a soft spot for it), but I've always been impressed by how beautifully the vocalists can sing despite doing so much raspy screaming. I prefer those parts over the more typical metal screaming personally, but I don't really have anything bad to say about it (in the genre as a whole, not just this song). Even if I did have complaints about the sound, though, I have immense respect and admiration for the vocalists' ability to flip back and forth between that and clearer, more "normal" singing, especially in the age of ludicrous overuse of auto-tune to produce barely passable songs.

Was never quite into screaming stuff but this song gets a pass. Of all the CC Operation songs I'd still say Operation Blade, Pine Soot, and Dawnseeker beat it out personally
Yeah, NGL the vocals kinda ruined it for me at times. That said, the instrumental version (which can be found on the MSR website) is really awesome. Thankfully they always release both a vocal and an instrumental version for these. 👍
I know this is an older video, but i still want to suggest you to react to some Bocchi the Rock songs, it's an anime about a rock band and the playing of the instruments is very accurate, nothing more needs to be said

I can see them in my mind but I'm bad with names. I'm also huge with variance so it'd be like 3 romantic comedies, comedy and also murder mystery/horror lol
