"Seishun Wo Kirisaku Hado" was the theme tune to a Japanese TV show about school girls who play battle video games. The lyrics describe the emotional stresses that young people go through and liken them to a "battlefield" so that connects well with the theme of the TV show. AG! have also done an advert for the Playstation 5 so there's another video game tie in for them. Atarashii Gakko No Leaders (New School Leaders) were formed in 2015 by Asobisytem. They now go by Atarashii Gakko. The "sailor" uniforms are slightly old fashioned high school uniforms. Mizyu (the one with two ponytails) had already worked with Asobisystems as a back up dancer to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and she was joined by Rin, Kanon and Suzuka. Suzuka's extrovert personality and strong voice make her the obvious front person on stage and she will often leap into the crowd, but Mizyu is the oldest and in early press was sometimes described as the leader, but there's no official leader. They do all their own choreography and collaborate with producers on the songs and write a lot of the lyrics. The dancing is a big element of their shows and even though it's all highly choreographed, AG! perform with a freedom, fun and ease seldom seen in other idol type groups. Their music ranges from hip-hop, Showa era pop to jazz and rock. They are in big demand in Japan for adverts and develop dances to client requirements. Their motto is "with individuality and freedom I'm going to stick out" and they sing about some challenging themes and have appeared at Pride events. In 2020/21 they joined 88rising to break into the US market and have had success on social media and just completed a small N. American tour, were a big hit at Coachella 2024 and will do a World tour in 2024. If you'd like to react to more AG! just search on "ATARASHII GAKKO! - OTONABLUE / THE FIRST TAKE". For some live performances look at "Atarashii Gakko! Live @ Brooklyn, New York - OTONABLUE, Intergalactic, NAINAINAI" and for a very new song "AG FOREVER SISTERS Debut at Coachella 20240414" is pure disco.
HAHA! Glad you found them. They're friggin AWESOME! THey have a lot of really great songs. Their style is kinda like hip-hop-jazz-punk. They do all their own choreos and their personalities are so infectious. I think a great introduction to them is Otona Blue on the First Take channel. They have a ton of "practice" or "one-take" videos that are super impressive. Also, one of their biggest influences are the Beastie Boys, and they even teamed up with their producer for a few of their songs. Looking forward to more reactions to them. Subbed.
they said themselves that they don't have specific genre. instead they love to explore genres. if you think they are only hiphop-jazz-punk, you should definitely listen their other songs.
@@user-sc3oh1bw4z Right. I meant to point out that they're all over the place and should have added "..." or "etc". Their personalities are what are consistent throughout all of their musical ventures which will make you come back for more ;-) Love them so much!
AG are smashing it around the world at the moment... their recent multiple performances at Coachella were outstanding, musically and in their choreography. They have appeared on late night US TV and are about to tour Europe. You have come upon a Japanese export becoming international stars. Hang on for the ride.
If you like this, you need to see their unedited Official Choreography Video where they dance non-stop in a food court mall: Seishun wo Kirisaku Hado (official choreography video) After watching that video, I was hooked on this group, and I went to one of their concerts in LA.
ATARASHII GAKKO NO LEADERS are Dance Vocal Group. Not a band. The sailor suits are high school uniforms. They headlined two weekends at COCHELLA last month.
Welcome to the club. I've been watching them for five years. I saw them in Brooklyn last Nov. They will be in Forest Hills in May for the Head in the Clouds festival. A very talented group. Money Mark a former Producer of the Beastie Boys is working with them as well as Yonkee who wrote Otonablue.
They had an amazing Coachella performance, you can find some great high quality fancams of them. Yoasobi was in Coachella too and they also were amazing
You’re going to have so much fun with them, they have lotsss of music (no bad songs imo) & fun videos, you’re going to get addicted😉 I first discovered them from First Take: Otonablue. Their song Tokyo Calling seems to be getting very popular in the US.
@@roberthradek7100 ah I am thinking of Tokyo Calling cause it was on one of the late night shows which felt a bit more like "yeah they are everywhere now"
It sounds to me that you might be going into the AG! rabbit hole. If this happens, I welcome you. If you enjoyed this one, I recommend you follow it by one called Maningen. But in all honesty, you can't go wrong with any AG! song. You will be surprised by the variety of sounds you will hear, and by how much hype and happiness you will feel by watching them perform.
Hey love your content I was appointed to your channel by a friend if you really want to get into Atarashii gakko let me know I know them mostly Mizyu before they had to start and supporting behind the scenes ever since and no I'm not part of the production or anything I'm just a good friend

The one downside to signing with 88Rising is most of their older content has been removed from RUclips.

Their name stands for New School and they got super popular with Tokyo Calling. This song was definitely fire.
Ima do Tokyo calling soon. Wait that was their break out song?
@@ThatsTheBruh Actually their breakout song was "Otona Blue" version from The First Take show. It's just they keep on breaking out.

React to their song "otonablue" its on the first take as well. I have also seen a comment about babymetal they are amazing to.

HANABIE is also a girl group lol a band made of girls, Atarashi gakko is a dance/vocal unit
