They've given consideration to amputations to stop the infection in the past, so it's pretty likely that something like dismemberment will be added at some point.
im very happy for the animals, but i really want them to add bears and wolves so we have a danger to living in the wild, besides 1 or 2 zomboids every 12 days
They should add moodles to animals like they freak out near zombies and that stress level effects how much resources they provide. Like cows providing milk and chickens providing eggs. That would be cool
I hope they add some ranged weapons like thrown objects, bows, and/or crossbows because loud guns being the only form of ranged attack means less experienced/prepared players can't use anything ranged without alerting the whole town
Now that basements'll be a thing, maybe there're be a tornado mod, because THAT'S certainly a thing in Kentucky. Every time a storm has popped in game, tornado and the game's realism jumps to mind. I live in Kentucky and they're my main concern now when it storms.🌪
Wow good call. Imagine taking shelter in a cellar for hours due to a tornado, and emerging to house damage and all your farming work destroyed, maybe your car is gone (if you have one). That would certainly add another survival dimension 🙂🙂

It would kind of be like the helicopter, but with a line of destruction, maybe fires, and zombies scattered. The C.O.W.S. would still sound for a while in game too, I think they were on battery backup in the 90's.
I would like to see realistic sound travel. For instance, if I'm behind a building zombies in front of the building would hear the sound as if it came from the sides of the building and wouldn't know exactly where I am.

In the current build i believe panic effects chance to hit with firearms but only chance to crit with melee weapons. I wonder if the change in build 42 will make it effect melee as well

Havent played PZ since update 41 first dropped, and not had many hours in (38), so maybe a N00B question here. In your video you have several combat scenes (e.g. 0:16 seconds in) where the Zombies have a green, yellow or red outline. Is that something new in 42, something I've missed in 41 now, a setting I've not turned on in the options, or a mod you are using?
It’s a setting you can turn on that shows your chance of actually hitting the zomboid. Green being high chance and red meaning low chance. It’s in build 41 and can be used for both melee and ranged
The gunplay is fine and is pretty immersive. Hitting a head shot that close sounds practical but in reality there’s more at play than just shooting something in the head. The progress of leveling your gunplay is pretty real on how comfortable you get with it
I really really hope they one day add dismemberment and like amputations, so you can sometimes decapitate a zomboid if you’re using sharp things like swords, and also I would love having the opportunity to amputate a limb to save yourself from a bite like the mod called "The Only Cure" but just vanilla so it’s not so glitchy. If not amputations to save yourself from a bite, maybe still amputations but just for like saving yourself if your hand is stuck in something or whatever. I think that would be pretty cool.

On the fence thing, you can perhaps lenghten its lifespan merely by adding barricades in front of it, or cars, it will likely make the zombies take a tad longer to pile up at one spot, and begin to damage it. And it will likely only make prebuilt structures will tall fences surrounding it no longer 100% safe and easy base pickings, but it will still be manageable i guess, since it likely requires a certain amount of zeds on one spot for it to be a problem. I would guess the amount is at a level where you would be better jusy leaving outright than try to fight said horde because the numbers just don't make it worth (Unless the number where it starts to damage the fence is at a range where a Shotgun, a fair number of boxes, and a Pistol with a few spare mags can clear it before the damage happens, though firing off a shotgun to deal with a Horde is already a last resort and solving the starting problem relies on you shooting not worsening it

I cant wait for the update. I would like to play PZ but it doesnt make sense for now to start a new game. I plan to start in one of the new cities, then i will explore them and after that i move to Louisville to build myself up at one of the farms in the outskirts. I want to play with a bit more population this time ( 1.0 at start and 1.5 peak) cause i mostly played with maybe 0.6 at start and 1.0 peak lol :D Its just no fun for me if you start the game and there are so much zombies outside that you dont know where to go.

Devs expect First half of 2024. But expect at best to be in 2024. Delays or sudden needs to get the Build back in the oven for fixes are common with the devs
I’m sure build 42 will remove all of your old saves so I think I’m gonna have to start thinking about wrapping up my longest living character’s story soon

We don't know. All we know is that tall fences are no longer indestructible. But to clarify, that video of the chainlink fence was sped up much faster than it would happen in-game. So it would probably take hours or days for that group to break it down.

Genuinely. The team has to be a little less ambitious and a little more realistic, I feel like. Ambition is good but too much of it scuffs your work.
The devs said that the time between future updates is never going to be as long as the gap between build 41 and build 42. I hope they're right.

Adding animals will definitely give more life into the wilderness part of the game very exciting.
I look forward to animals cause I like to play this at times with no zombies.
