Gigist immediately gets to work and does things himself, I love the quick scene changes we get using his warping power and that adds to his otherworldly/bizarre presence. The way he changed how things work with the Skebows' malgam feels like cheating but as the one who the chemies originated from I suppose that is darkly fitting. Every time they defeated a malgam, the chemy would always emerge to return to our heroes, Houtarou holding out the card only to be met with no response really lets you know something's gone very wrong.
The reveal that the chemies were intended to plague mankind really ties in with one of kamen rider's core themes as summed up by a line from the producer blog:
"Born from evil, denying evil, and speaking of justice: that is the essence of Kamen Rider inherited from the Showa era. If that's the case, it would be no exaggeration to say that each and every Chemy is a Kamen Rider!"
And I think that is beautiful.
One other thing people pointed out that has me wondering, if Houtarou has that chemy egg with him, does that mean Daybreak Houtarou has a version of it too?
gigist has been great so far, blank void of a face faining empathy. and that way of saying all chemmys are kind like kamen riders is amazing. really just shows how caring about someone can change their life. like even for ichigo, he had the mentor dude.
egg theory, it turned into evil chemmy like gigist wanted and thats why world is shit.
I like how Gigist is written so far. He feels like a really big threat. I mean like he comes in kills an alchemy leader, beats Spanners ass, beats Houtaro sorta. And I love the lore drop that Gigist made the original two chemies and that ALL chemies can cause some sort of major harm. It’s also very funny thinking that Hopper-1 can cause famines😭💀🙏. The ending of the episode was nice too with the death of Skebow. I do wonder if that skebow prop is actually works as a good skateboard. Overall a 8/10.
Theory time: This is from my friend but he had the idea that Gegist is actually a chemy or has some sort of different form because Gegist appears to be a malgam, so Mayhaps he fused with Geryon in the dark dimension. That PLUS in the book with the daybreak wizard Gegist has a different form.
gotchard hasnt really had a bad bad guy. the sisters were solid for the monster of the week section. geryon for ramping up. and now gigist in terms of power and theme. and on hopper, grasshoppers when agitated turn into locust. so being a plague makes total sense. love how the death of skebow is also being treated as a real death of a character and not just the breaking of a gimmick.
i can see the original being that was gigist turning themselves into a chemmy, mirroring the homunculi of the sisters. would makes sense as well to bring back greyon.
To laugh IS pretty human...
Hopper1 is still adorable and will have an adventure next time

The Legend crossover could've just ben more of the Legend miniseries but it's neat to crossover.
And yeah, Decade saving Kaguya makes more sense as it's why Legend is based on Decade.
know what, if the show is going down that route with laughter, then that really says something cause there have been several chemmys who have laughed.
This episode was pretty good that's literally all I have to say it's good and I had an emotional connection to a skateboard the magic of toku everyone very interested in next week
its amazing how just putting eyes on something can make a human connection in us. its also interesting, cause this may be the first real failure hotaro has had, and not be able to immediately bounce back from
I really love the disecrion of Hotaro and Gigist and perhaps the core of the entire series itself!!! Emphathy huh???Come to think of it for me Hotaro is over hated as people only focus on how loud he is and the continous spouting of I will make friends with everyone particularly all Chemys similar to how Luffy spouts I WILL BE PIRATE KING ALL SAY LONG AND HE DOES NOT CARE HOW LOUD OR CORNY HE gets that is Hotaro in a nutshell. However you bring up a very good point that he is like that but at his core he is different from lets say Gentaro oe even Sougo!!!!
Gentaro and Hotaro at first glance may seem made from the same cloth but they are not. Both are spouting the same thing but you can feel Fourze is not only loud but forcing it at times. Hell at some instances instead of listening and understanding Fourze will shove that I will be friends with everyone down your throat whether you like it or not. Of course things worked out in the end but still that very minor differece is telling. On that regard Hotaro is a way better friend comrade and bro in arms than Fourze ever could as Gotchard unlike Fourze will take his time to listen and understand as much as he can whether it is people or chemy whether it is an opponent or an ally and recognize their individuality before spouting that I WANNA BE FRIENDS out of the blue,
I mentioned Sougo as well because like Gotchard the majority back then hatees ZIO I mean that dream of I wanna be king is as weird as it gets that being a normal high school kid would never say it but he did. Count the fact that He is a kid means immature and all issues that comes from being a kid Zio has it. In addition he became a second fiddle in his own series thanks to Decade. Imagine Zio the king of all being rebegated to an afterthought just becaus decade is there? So yes Zio is for the najority hated as much if not more than Gotchard is now,
However just like Gotchard as the series went on they matured so much to the point that no matter how loud Ichinose gets now I dont care as he has proven himself that he truly deserves to be Gotchard!!! In the same Tokea as Sougo supplemented by all the specials and movies you can see his maturity that he is looking more like Zio the king of all. Yes Sougo now is far from that snot nose kid back then. He does not need to say I wanna be king anymore rather he he just shows it. I love that. And Yes I love Gotchard.
hotaro is a great character. just love how complex his empathy can actually be. i think another reason some may have disliked him at first is that the actor had a moment to get into you know. like he is there now, but he wasnt the greatest at the begining.
it is interesting just where gentaro and hotaro are coming from. cause fourze came after a natual disaster and so they just wanted to cheer people up and on, while gotchard is just going with the theme. gentaro was the hero they needed at the time.
big reason why i dig hotaro is just that he cares so much. i like my heroes to care about others, superman, cap america, hell thats even why i loved tycoon in geats so much.
You really need to practice your speaking skills. It sounds like you're just coming up with words as you go and didn't prepared a script in advance. That kinds of review just makes the videos unbearable
