Soldier_1stClass. One thing what could be cool is that what if you want to equip a more powerful weapon but you still want to use the buster sword. How about if in the game options you can make all swords to look like the buster sword so you can used the whole time

It's gonna be cool that you can level up the weapons and learn that specific weapons special attack and keep that move once mastered. Game is going to be crazy. Plus it's just been confirmed that the game will be 100gb

So real talk. I was always bullied in school. Back when I was in middle school and high school, video games were things that only nerds did. I had a bully that messed me up and made me afraid to go to school most days, his name was Caesar and was a typical meathead jock picking on the weaker version of me.
Then one day in gym class, because of course fate would put me in the same gym class as him, he came up to me as we were getting dressed in the locker room. He reaches into his backpack and says, "Hey, I got two copies of this game for my birthday by mistake. I know you like games and I figured I give you enough shit, so here." And he just gave me Final Fantasy 7. Then just walked away.
FF7 became my first story-based game and first rpg in general, sparking a love for the rpg genre in me that never faded. Caesar and I never became friends, but once in a while in the locker room we would walk about where we were in FF7, and I'll never forget that. FF7 will forever be my favorite game of all time because not only did it spark a love for a whole new world of gaming, but it also showed me that sometimes the bullies grow up and want to make things right.

I was 6 years old when this game came out. It was the first game I ever owned on PS1, I started playing and had no clue what I was doing, fumbling my way through the game with the help of my dad, eventually beating it and I just fell in love with it. I continued to replay the game, learning more and more with each play through and becoming a better gamer as I got older, to the point where I could pretty much complete the game with my eyes closed. Finally, 22 years later, I get to play a massively updated, modernised version of the game. With all my gaming knowledge and all my knowledge of the FF7 world, I've been training all my life for this moment...I AM READY!

I was surprised you didn't mention that no matter what point you're at in the game or what Cloud's got equipped - it's the Buster Sword that's waiting for you at the starting Menu Screen, sitting as the guardian of your save files and a constant reminder of that iconic weapon throughout the game, and throughout your experience of playing it. It's the same welcoming visual that they used when they showed new footage, and faded in the "Remake" option at the bottom to make the crowd go wild.
Aside from Zack being my favourite character, it's always getting to that menu screen that I'll remember when everyone is excitedly looking forward to the next bit of development we were about to uncover.

Hooooo boy. I remember my brother sent me 7 in the mail. Completely out of the blue and I had no idea what it even was. I remember getting to name all the characters after friends and family, and that made it feel all the more special. I remember getting stuck in the ancient temple because of an optical illusion and being so happy when my friend's brother figured it out for me. My mom was going through surgery when I was playing 7 and my sister's friend had given me the unofficial guide and I would read it all the time when I'd have to go to the hospital to visit my mom. This game is such a core part of my developmental years and I'm so excited to visit Midgar again, I legitimately feel like a kid again, I cannot be any more excited.

Cloud and other characters that wielded swords encouraged me to try fencing as a a sport, honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and a dream come true. I could finally yield swords and compete against others both in team and individually. Swords always signified strength to me, but this character is more than that. Cloud got me through depression when I fractured 3 bones, and passing away of my family members due to cancer that I lost in past 2 years. He taught me that grieving and being sad and having identity issues is quite a common experience for young people, and we can grow from these experiences . Recently after finishing university, I have to deal with post graduation depression, abusive family and job search, so having the time to finally play FF7 fully gave me a lot of hope! Totally agree, buster sword means a lot to us and was a very important symbol in the compilation. Let’s hope its story will be told as well in the remake!

The Buster Sword is one of the most iconic weapons in video game history. Sure, Squall's Revolver and Tidus's Brotherhood are recognizable FF weapons, but they pale in comparison to the Buster Sword. One of the few things that I really wanted in this remake was for it to be viable. I said to friends that an upgrade system would be exactly what we needed. And I'm so happy they actually did it. I'll certainly use other weapons as well, but that will mostly be to learn their skills. I intend to use the Buster Sword as my primary weapon.
I also really like they Square does seem to be making small nods to Crisis Core. The official descriptions is "A large broadsword that has inherited the hopes of those who fight." That's got to be a reference to Cloud receiving the sword from Zack at the minimum. It wouldn't surprise me if they intend for Angeal to be a thing as well. I'll be combing Midgar for references to Zack, Angeal, Cissnei, and others. Wouldn't be surprised to find a file in the Shinra building on them or even a receptionist lamenting that she hasn't seen that black haired SOLDIER First class in years.
April is so close yet so far.

    • @Soldier1stClass
      @Soldier1stClass  5 лет назад

Well, I don't think it's as much of a nod to Crisis Core as you might think. The Zack Death scene was in the original, so I'm sure it's just a reference to that if anything. But I do believe there will be elements from Crisis Core in the remake for sure. They've basically already said that will be the case, just not in the capacity that everyone thinks.

    • @saltyk9869
      @saltyk9869 5 лет назад +1

@@Soldier1stClass You're absolutely right. Thought I got that much across in my post.
I simply think there's the possibility we can see more. I doubt it would be more than reference. A poster of Angeal and Genesis. Maybe a side quest that mentions Cissnei. Or, as I previously said, the receptionist making passing reference to Zack (she had a crush on him and even founded his fan club).
After all, Zack and Angeal would sort of break Cloud's story if they were a major part of this game. So there's no way anything that could bring Cloud's backstory into question will be a big part of this game. Anyone who would recognize Zack's sword won't be appearing.
All the same I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the game and looking for Easter Eggs.

It was literally 2012. Not even that long ago. But after a lifetime of playing pretty much nothing but Nintendo first party games and while being more than satisfied with them, I saw a newly uploaded video by the great AlphaOmegaSin that was titled something to do with a remake of FF7. I always had known about the FF franchise and was interested in playing it. But it wasn’t until that video that I learned of how impactful FF7 in particular was to gamers. After doing some research, and being less than impressed with the graphical quality but intrigued all the same, I then made it my mission to track down a copy of this game and a PS One. Needless to say, about a year later I did just that. The level of wonder i felt after walking into that retro games store and seeing a copy of the legendary game I had heard so much about hidden behind a glass case made me feel like a kid in 97. After breaking the bank to purchase it, I left it on my shelf until further notice. And by the time early 2014 rolled around, I made my adventure into the world of Gaia with Cloud and his friends for the first time and have been a fan ever since. Despite 7 not being my favourite or even objectively the best FF game, I still view it as easily the iconic and impactful masterpiece that it is and a masterclass in storytelling, music composition, graphic and game design and characterization. About a year later the fabled Remake was announced and I can safely say that had I not played the original for myself and followed the popularity of FF7 so closely, I don’t think I would have gotten anywhere near as many chills and excitement as I did when I saw the Buster Sword remade in all its glory.

Love the way that this icon has meant so much to people in my generation and now beginning with a whole new generation. You’re very good at articulating words and it’s so nice to know people who would identify with connections that we experience through gaming rather than just brushing it off as a notion saying, “That’s just for kids.” It’s almost like many people have lost their desire to dream like we all had when we were kids.

I feel the same way about Red XIII as you do about Cloud. Without going into details i had a very unstable and complicated childhood, consequences of a choice my dad made when i was very little and i utterly hated him for it. You can imagine how relatable the Cosmo Canyon scene was to me, specially as a kid.
Then years later i stumbled upon a translation of On the Way to a Smile (that was still a decade before they released an official one) and once again Red's struggles during his short story alligned very much with mine (depression and anxiety over factors i can't control and just an identity crisis in general) at the time, specially his dialogues with Vincent.
Also what inspired me to want to be a writer, i'd like to teach people some life lessons i learned the hard way through entertainment, or just help them feel like they aren't alone with their struggles, just like Red's stories did for me.

I remember being about 6 years old seeing the Buster Sword for the first time thinking awesome it looked and how insanely strong you'd have to be to even be able to pick it up. I wasn't old enough to really appreciate the story and the characters at the time, but I having played through it so many times now it is without a doubt one of my all time favourite games. It was my first FF and my first JRPG, if anything it's one of the reasons I became interested in gaming.

For me, it was my very first RPG that I've ever played. At the time, I was 24 and I was in training at a tech school when I was in the military. A friend of mine there was really hyped for the game before it was released. He told me that he was going to get it. I said ok cool, but I wasn't into RPGs back then. When he finally got it and I watched him play it, I was hooked and it really changed my life forever. Needless to say, I bought it myself and I never looked back! RPGs became my favorite genre! BTW, I rank Cloud' s Buster Sword right behind Link's Master Sword as two of the most recognizable swords in video game history. Honorable mention, if you include Sephiroth's Masamune. Another great vid S1C!

Dude, can you imagine having the Buster Sword the most powerful sword for Cloud when fully upgraded? Whether it'd be just Part 1 or all of them, that'd be awesome. I do wonder 1 thing, if they're going to put Double/Triple Growth in the game and how it'd work. If you can now upgrade your weapons, they could change how the Growth works, like changing it to a Skill, Special Ability, or even possibly a Materia itself.

Final Fantasy 7 was one of my first RPGs I played and was one of two game that holds a place in my heart. I was able to bond with my older brother who was getting to that stage where it was cool to pick on me or just ignore me. The game helped solidify my interest in reading. I would literally go to school and daydream about the game. And for the remake, I bought a PS4 just for it. This game already means so much, and it’s still not here. This game is integral to my life, maybe it’s just the Jenova cells acting up, but I’m looking forward to my reunion with Final Fantasy 7 and the world of Gaia.

This video was powerful. I actually shedded tears tbh. FF7 and the Buster Sword is my symbol of hope. The game itself helped accept my dads death and definitly inspired me to not let my failures define who I am. I struggled with acceptance and figuring out me as a person. After my dad died I went down a dark path. I was rather toxic or at least I felt like I was. If it wasn't for my signifigant other who is a lot like Tifa. Part of me is not sure I would be who I am today without her. Much like Cloud I manged to pick myself after all the harships I went through. In my last playthrough of FFVII, I decided to take on the final boss with the Buster Sword equipped. Obviously, this really limited what Cloud could do, so he had to rely on magic to do major damage and I was fighting the most powerful version of Safer Sephiroth as well.
It was a challenge but it was worth seeing Cloud use Omnislash with the Buster Sword on Sephiroth in that final one-on-one confrontation, especially when you know beforehand everything that sword has been through leading up to that. It just made that scene even more powerfu to see.

I was 10/11 when this game came out.I knew nothing about it, I don’t remember there being any ad campaign in England. But for my 11th birthday my dad promised to buy me a new game. I saw the sword and didn’t care about anything else. I wanted it. I didn’t understand the game at all so I threw in it a drawer until I found it again 4 years later. I’ve played it at least once a year, every year since.

I was 14 when this came out. Coming off of ff7, crono trigger, and secret of mana , came this jewel ff7 . I had no idea what I was getting into. All I remember was seeing ff7 in the display case at Walmart, I didn't even know there was a pt 7 and it was on playstation. I didn't have a playstation 😔. I had 25 bucks and I put them on layaway, next week my grandmother took it out for me on my bday . So yeah, I was blown away . I had never seen anything like it . Then seeing the new opening scene brought back lots of memories. 97 was just the best year for me alot was going on . I'm truly grateful for that timeless piece of work . My son is 11 and playing through the original. We are excited for this remake , real talk brings me to tears 😂

After watching this video I da want "that" tattoo you said you might get on one of your streams on twitch. Which was with the buster sword with a red ribbon attach to the hilt and on the ribbon it says, "Embrace your dreams" (For those who miss, didn't see the stream, etc)

This game means everything to me. It started when my father gave me an action figure of Squall on one of my birthdays. I liked the toy so much that on my next birthday, I asked him to buy me another one, the Seifer one, but I still have no idea of the game nor their names at the time. Not until I saw a pirated CD of FF7 Advent Children when I was in Highschool expecting that I would see Seifer and Squall but got confused because the characters were different lol. Nevertheless, I loved Advent Children. Then one day, a friend of mine introduced to me the game. So I bought a pirated version of the game back in 2005 and this game made me cut classes in highschool. This made me pretend that I'm sick just so I could play this game at home. I know it's not a good thing but I graduated tho lol. Back in the days, in the Philippines, not all houses have internet connection and ours is not an exemption. We need to go to an internet cafe just so we could surf the net. And I am glad playing this without watching other's playthrough/gameplay. And that is my Final Fantasy Story 😁

Where to start!? FF7 came out when I was a freshman in high school. Me and a buddy that were friends since third grade started playing it at his house. I didn’t have a play station so he would save the game and wait for me to come over after school or on the weekends to play. I still remember our reaction to the events at the forgotten capital. We were both like wtf man. I haven’t talked to him in years. In our twenties he got lost down a dark road into drugs. He’s since gotten clean but he still won’t reach back out. I miss him. I think people in recovery sometimes just shut out the old life to move on. I replay FF7 often. I think about him and those times when I do and hope he’s okay.
I actually got a replica buster sword in my man cave. Acquired it from another buddy that sold it to me when times were tough. I’ll never part with it. I also got Shiva from FFX tattooed on my forearm and didn’t really think about this until now but where some people draw a thermometer to track getting out of debt etc, I drew a giant buster sword to track paying off all the student loans etc.
First time my daughter realized she could control the tv screen with the PlayStation remote was when I had her take my gold chocobo for a spin. It was amazing to watch as she realized she was controlling what was happening on the tv. She just turned two on Saturday. And she’s gonna see me own this new game like a boss! This game and the whole series in general does nothing but take me back to amazing times through the years. Can’t wait for the new game. We don’t deserve it. It doesn’t have to exist, but we are getting it. That in itself blows my mind. Loved reading everyone else’s stories surrounding this.

I spent my First 5 years of life in a wheelchair. I wasn't able to walk or have friends. Already at age 4, it was made clear to me that this would be my life. It was hard, finding your place in the world like that. Around 6 or 7, my dad bought me and my brother PS1 and final fantasy 7. Although not my first videogame ever,it was the first that was literately latched onto me. Drawn me right into it's world, with the cool protagonist and the big awesome sword. Except, that's a facade too. The cool protagonist isn't so cool after all - he's just another person struggling finding his place in the world, too.
This game has given me the power to try my best too. 20 years later, I'm still struggling to find my place, but I am now walking, having exceeded all the expectations that I couldn't have even dreamt of.
    Thanks to Final Fantasy 7.
