I wish my mom had directed me to an epilator when I was a kid. I started using it this month and it's amaaaazing. I was sceptical ad I have very thick hair with lots of ingrowns and super sensitive skin, but I will never shave again. It's a godsend. Great video you really did a good job explaining about the process.
the hair does remove at the follicle level (the roots as some calls it). whenever the hair is removed at that level, the frequency of hair growth reduces by "# of days", which depends on the thickness/growth of hair. With that said, the ingrown hairs will slowly go away because you're not shaving as frequent.
I have an original Epilady that I use and I agree it's like anything once you've done it a few times you don't even notice it anymore....kinda like waxing. My mom barely has any hair since she's been using an epilator for 30 yrs...she only tweezes every once in a while ....point being... the longer you use it the less hair you will have in the long run.
Hey! Very helpful tips in this video! I had looked up a video about hair removal and heard about the epilator. I had never heard about it before. So while I was shopping I came across it! Super surprised at it was only $15 ... I figured at that price I should give it a try. When I checked out I saw my total at go from $5 to $80! The price was marked wrong and they honored it for $15! I got super lucky! I was super psyched to try it! It did hurt! felt like I was electrocuting myself. I pushed through the pain. I was amazed at all the hair that it was pulling out. I know over time the pain will subside and grow finer. :) Im very happy with it!
I actually just logged into youtube so that I could watch a few videos while epilating, and your video popped up. :) Haha. I love my epilator and agree with everything you said. Shaving sucks. I hated having smooth legs that were covered with red bumps from razor burn. It made me want to cover up and kind of defeats the purpose.
Shaving since FOURTH grade? !!! Got an epilator yesterday, LOVE it! It's a Philips brand. So far, so good! Hurts on underarms a lot more than bikini areas. And on backs of thighs, those hurt too. Otherwise, love it! I'll get used to it. I had the origianl Epilady from the late 80's, that thing with the coiled spring on it> oh my god, that thing was scary and it hurt! I never could use it. These new kind, they are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better and not painful really. It hurts a lot more to get a tattoo!
I've been debating about getting an epilator for a while now, mostly because they seem so expensive, so I wasn't sure if it would be worth spending the money on. But, after seeing this video I'm definitely thinking it would be worth a go. I have sensitive skin and I get razor burn so easily so knowing that an epiltor helps with this, I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks! :)
I had one of these in my younger years, I had the Epilady and it also depends on the type of hair you have on your legs as to the pain, if you have really blonde fine hair it doesn't hurt as much, myself, I have very coarse dark hair and it hurts like %^&*. I tried it for about a month and finally gave it up, I couldn't stand the pain and I have a very high pain tolerance. So good luck to the females out there who have very fine blonde hair, this may be good for you but for those of you like myself with dark coarse hair, wish you the best. It HURTS.
I had one of those epilators for a long time now. But it doesn't work for me that well because my hairs are very thin and almost invisible. (pale skin - white hairs) I have problem seeing them and have to do my epilation with sun light or special halogen lamp. It doesn't hurt because hairs are very week, but because of that I had a lot of ingrown hairs which made scars on my legs when I tried to take them out and had to go back to shaving. :( It took a while, but my leg's skin is in good condition now. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, but I had to share since it might help someone.
If your hair is breaking off instead of being completely pulled out by the root it could be that your hair is too long. I would shave and wait 3 days and then epilate.
I tried this and it took so long to remove the hair on my legs and it left tiny sores. I also ended up with lots of ingrown hairs. I REALLY wanted this to work for me, but it just didn't.
You must exfoliate before and after. Take a hot shower so that the steam will open up the pores so epilating will be convenient. Also moisturize legs to keep pores clean, healthy and closed up to prevent ingrown hairs.
Took less time than waxing, with better results for me. I exfoliate always 2 days before, and make sure I’m warm clean and comfy. I also exfoliate a few days later when it starts to itch. No issues for me. But got the best epilator according to numerous tests, so might be why.
@@mirawenya I'm a boy, and I'm developing a good, fit, healthy and muscular physique. I'm a teen so my confidence and how I present myself is important to me as a teenager so I can impress girls. Hope u understand that. Anyways I'm wondering if it's ok for a man to epilate. I'm not too hairy as of now but when I hit adulthood I'm pretty sure I'm going to be super hairy as I can tell. Is it safe for me to epilate my stomach, legs, thighs, chest, back, shoulders, biceps and arms. Being smoith and clean is my priority in maintaining a sexy body. Since I assume you are a girl may you please give your opinions on this and help me. Thanks!
I just got this same epilator today. It didn't work as easily and good as I hoped, it got some hair but I had grown my hair for about 4 or 5 days (lovely I know), could that have possibly affected it? Does it work better with short hair?
I ll end up with strawberry legs its either waxing, shaving or hair removal cream so I scared to remove my hair But now I want to try this one too I hope I'll say goodbye for strawberry legs
You can use it in the armpits and works amazing; last until 2 or 3 times for the hair grown back. I love it! i used to shave my whole body every three days for smooth skin, but when i spend a little extra cash on a epilator, i do it now every month, and dont get any razor burns o ingrown hair
+Ria Chatterjee No, it doesn't. I have been using it for the last three years, once every two weeks, have seen no skin hardening anywhere. *touchwood* Though I personally also like to get a wax done once every two months or so, just to get all the tanning and dead skin off.
Depends what one you use, I have the philips Satinelle, due to the shape it find it near impossible to do my underarms as it doesn't pick up the hairs at all. Yes, I have dark, thicker hair in structure and density. It was incredibly painful the first time and I honestly thought I was going to pass out
I use my epilator all over... armpits, legs, bikini area. On my armpits and legs I don't feel much but an occasional pinch. My bikini area I feel more but it's getting less as I use it more. I used to wax but this is just easier and no mess.

Finally someone who speaks intelligently. Like the review. Been looking to toss out my razor for a while.
I'm watching this as I stare at my legs that I haven't shaved in a month or so... Haha I'm the laziest shaver ever so maybe I should get one of these!
Ashlynn C Same (about not shaving for about a month...LOL!)!
Ashlynn C that’s why I just purchased one
so much better even than waxing, because of what you just said, doesn't require as much time and doesn't make a mess!
***** totally agree! I wax my brows, but it can be so messy! I can't even imagine doing my entire leg!

RIGHT?! So true, I totally agree. I hope you enjoyed your epilating sesh, haha!

Waxing and tweezing tend to promote in grown hair for me. Have you had any problems with that?
I love using an epilator on my under arms, its great!
Wow, you're epilating hairless legs. ohh
its less painful to epilate hair that isnt long yet

I have the exact same one as urs and I was scared to use it. But after watching this video I have gathered my courage to try it.😅
I feel your pain with having to shave enery 2days, I I'm planing on trying out the epilady:)

Surprisingly, I don't have ever heard of this device before. This video was super helpful!
I'm glad to have introduced you to it! :)
What a neat video! Liked and subscribed 🎉
Sorry for this question ...but do we have to clean the hairs it blucked from that???
I have one from philips and instead of removing the hair from the root it breaks them so they grow back super fast, just like when i shave them
If your hair is breaking off instead of being completely pulled out by the root it could be that your hair is too long. I would shave and wait 3 days and then epilate.
Can I yuse dis epilator for my eyebrow? Can it remove tiny hair of my eyebrows? And can it giv smooth skin like waxing?

Where do all the little hairs go?
They just get plucked out and stay on the skin
It's not emoji. It's EMJOI.
Do you all recommend this or an IPL machine like the Kenzzi?

hi, does epilating make the skin hard??

I was so confused. I thought this video was about "How to Remove Hair in an Elevator"... ;-)
😄😂🤣😅
does anyone know if the hair grows back lighter and fewer since ur ripping it out of the root????
+pathways678 The hair comes out finer and at fewer places than what you had when you started epilating. That is what makes it super cool.
some people say using an epilator on face causes early age wrinkles. ..is that true?
will you ever go back to shaving
Can you use it on your face?
Did it ever give u ingrown hairs?
On qvc...today's special value. I'm sold
Jane Doe Thats where I got mine
Can i use this epilator on my chest
I just purchased an Emjoi. Your video was very helpful. Thanks!
