This is such a great track. Super serious topic with ominous music, it shows some tremendous range of the album when this song is preceded by the hilarious Rap de Rap Show.
I was just listening to this album yesterday and it struck me how badass the ending to this song is. As jarring as someone being shot and killed right before you would be. Millie bucked him with the quickness and it was over...
You celebrate a kid pulling a pistol on santa. This is why you fail more than everyone else. Hip hop is so toxic now. Its not art. Just rap about toxic behavior and it will sell millions. Make it make sense.
@@GetUpTheMountains All good bro. No ill intent with the response. Hip Hop is so different nowadays, as it should be, and it was a great time for artists to be unique and innovative. Krs-One, Chuck D, etc., educated me as much as any history teacher. Listening to lyrics and deciphering a song was so important.
My favorite Christmas song ever but also one of my favorite songs on De La Soul is dead I fucking love that album❤
De La Masterful Technicians 🎤

It’s not celebrating the act. The song is about sexual abuse that “Millie” endured from her father, who would dress up as Santa on Christmas.
@@Bugger22 None of the kids could understand what was the cause
All they could see was a girl holdin' a pistol on Claus
@@GetUpTheMountainsI was 17 years old when the album released so I’m gonna have to disagree.
@@Bugger22 Dude I was talking about Roosters, who doesn't understand the tune, not you my mang!
