Everytime I hear about the Voynich Manuscript I get increasingly more attracted to the idea that it’s from a random Hungarian scholar guy who made up his own language and story to go with it, and then just failed to tell anyone how to translate it to a real life language. Like if Tolkien wrote Lord of the Rings entirely in Sindarin and just didn’t bother to tell anyone else how to read it. lol
Thanks, Simon, for letting me realize that, as a native of New York State, I have been pronouncing _ADIRONDACK_ *wrong,* all these years. According to Simon, it is AIDE DER RON DACK.

Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?
Book cyphers. If you want to encrypt a message with zero chance of it ever being unlocked, base your 'encryption key' on the text of a book. Page 17, line 9, fifth word, first three letters. Depending on which edition of 'Gullivers Travels' you have in your hands, those three letters are gonna be different. The famed Vornoi manuscript is thought to be a book cypher based on private manuscripts combined with a unique alphabet with characters for 'th' and 'ch' and other common letter combinations. Weird spellings mess up letter-distribution analysis: the letters 'E' and 'T' are used a lot in English, not so much in other languages. If don't know the language of the original text, you are gonna have a lot of guess-work ahead! * Then there are the Monkey Codes: truly random characters in one message that 'key-in' to seemingly random characters of a subsequent message. If you don't know the rules for merging the two messages (and which two messages to merge!) it's an unsolvable problem! These are crypto challenges that quantum-computing still can't crack. * Block-chains and all that sophisticated encryption behind fake currencies is based on using math to obscure data while creating a process that can reveal the data at some future date. The more steps in the process, the more convoluted each step becomes, the harder it is for a third-party to crack the code. The effort to create these steps becomes greater the farther along the block-chain one goes; bit-coin 'miners' are folks calculating 'next steps' for a block-chain... Quantum-computing eats this kind of coding for breakfast... Some time in the next year or two, expect to see a news article proclaiming that Google Computing or some other quantum-machine has cracked a major currency block-chain and revealed the originating key that started the chain.

April fool's? Not a very good one if so.
An unusual mistake from a prolific writing team
Yeah I'm very confused, the georgia guidestones thing is spot on but the Rohonc codex bit is unintelligible mishmash
Simon can make the "painfully mundane" and turn it into a riveting video.
I’m really confused about the Rohonc Codex…that was named after Voynich. How is it named after Voynich? Simon’s description of the Rohonc Codex’s contents, mysterious plants never seen before and strange language(s), sounds exactly like the contents of the Voynich manuscript. Is the Rohonc Codex another book very similar to the Voynich manuscript, and both are associated with Wilfried Voynich? Or did the channel mix up the two books?
Yeah I'm so confused.
Love your skeptical take on all of the mysteries you present
Simon, I can't grow a beard. If you started a chest and back hair product line I'd be set though
Noted.
Also, something for hairy palms. I hear there are a lot more cases of that since the pandemic started.
Yoko Ono, Simon's favorite singer!
The documentary "Dark Clouds Over Elberton " through some shady investigative journalism actually found the actual man behind RC Christian. The banker was the only one who knew the actual identity of RC Christian. With some slight verification for myself came through a family connection.....my wife's friend happens to be the granddaughter of the banker.
I wonder what the "RC" stands for? Roman Catholic maybe?
@@davidanderson_surrey_bc some speculate Rosa Crucian .
Love falling asleep to the great videos you make thank you 🙏
11:05 Didn't you say the monument was for post apocalyptic humans? That is straight up your answer as to how the human population would be as low as 500 million.

Guidelines - not a tourist attraction but an idol that will see itself destroyed.
Who else is seeing this after the Georgia Guidestones no longer exist? Kinda weird that this popped up in my feed all of a sudden. It’s at 400k views rn, I’ve got a feeling it’ll get a lot more.
No more guidestones. Some crazed apes too far down a rabbit hole acted on their irrational fears. Starting to think the past isn't the worst, Simon.
I think you should revisit the Georgia Stones.
Start building them back.
Is this the type of video that I've been waiting for since this time last year?!
"Ah-deh-ron-dack"
Thank you for that. I was about to type it. Lol
yeah, he doesn't know, it's just another foreign place to him. it's very similar to when you see some small local town on national news for some reason and they pronounce it wrong. I've actually been pretty surprised to hear Waze pronounce place names correctly, that I personally thought were a phonetic nightmare
one local town name that my brain refuses to remember is Valatie... I have to look it up every time... it looks like it should be pronounced Val Ah Tē but it's actually pronounced Val ā sha
Simon, your beard is looking absolutely fantastic in this video!
Wasn't this thing recently blown up ?
In true American fashion, someone recently blew up the Georgia Guidestones.
Good video 👍
I immediately recognized the image at the video beginning as Lake Placid. It's a rather lovely part of the world. I spent several summer nearby and ince visited the Adirondack History Museum. Never got to see the skull or noose. Westport is at the southern end of Lake Champlain. It and nearby Elizabethtown are certainly an out of the way area if NY.
Ok, how the hell did Yoko Ono escape business blaze? I swear the writers for his other channels are going tolook for ways to put yoko ono in there more just to annoy simon XD
Yoko is talked about on Business Blaze all the time
I'm just waiting for the day that this is a thing.
Simon: Siri! Full volume. [ un-godly Yoko sounds ]
@@better.better She is, that's what they mean, she's reliably ranted about there and the topic has been "escaping" i.e. leaking into other channels :)
Clearly a Yoko Biographics episode is called for! #freetheshriek
@@Adiscretefirm That would be epic lol I hope one of the writers pranks him with it sometime
Everytime I hear about the Voynich Manuscript I get increasingly more attracted to the idea that it’s from a random Hungarian scholar guy who made up his own language and story to go with it, and then just failed to tell anyone how to translate it to a real life language.
Like if Tolkien wrote Lord of the Rings entirely in Sindarin and just didn’t bother to tell anyone else how to read it. lol
Business blaze... Never heard of it.
It is a hidden gem, tucked away in Simon's basement!
@@bartfoster1311 XD I see what you did there.
Thanks, Simon, for letting me realize that, as a native of New York State, I have been pronouncing _ADIRONDACK_ *wrong,* all these years. According to Simon, it is AIDE DER RON DACK.
I am from the Adirondacks and it hurt my soul to hear it pronounced that way
Same! I came looking for this comment because I had to find validation for the misery that pronunciation made me feel, haha!
Hindu is a religion. Hindi is a language
I personally like the theory that the Voynich Manuscript is an early attempt at creating a language, much im the same way Tolkien created his Middle Earth languages.
I absolutely love the fact that the Georgia Guidestones exist.
Have you been? I love elberton.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?
The Georgia Guidestone should have been removed as soon as it was put up!
April fools: Simon uploads two videos on two channels that cover the damn subject
*
Then there are the Monkey Codes: truly random characters in one message that 'key-in' to seemingly random characters of a subsequent message.
If you don't know the rules for merging the two messages (and which two messages to merge!) it's an unsolvable problem!
These are crypto challenges that quantum-computing still can't crack.
*
Block-chains and all that sophisticated encryption behind fake currencies is based on using math to obscure data while creating a process that can reveal the data at some future date.
"If its anyone we should listen to, It's Yoko (f**kin) Ono" I read between the lines lol
Litteraly cant grow facial hair lol. Got a mop of the thickest hair on my head but nothing grows on my face
I can only grow hair in my butt crack.

I think most bearded bald guys would prefer your predicament to their own.
"justice in the past" thumbs up...... I actually just LOL'ed whiskey out of my nose, ouch lol ouch
Imagine driving down a Georgia country road no the way to a hearing at the Elbert County Courthouse and you notice a stone megalith arising from a field of crops that are only about half an hour from your house. If you stop you'll be late so you ponder what you saw for the entire hearing and head directly there after you are released by the Judge. Upon arrival you see a remarkable granite megalith with the most absurd inscriptions in multiple languages on the faces of the stone. I couldn't help but laugh the whole time I was there.
It is in an odd place! Maybe it was meant to survive a nuclear war, I wasn't nearly as impressed by the friends I went there with.
@@bartfoster1311 Nobody is going to waste a nuke on Elberton. It is really safe.
Smashed the like button. And now my phone is all sticky......
Well, seems the Georgia Guidestones ain't gonna be guiding anybody, 'cause some Nutter blew them up today
i actually liked the commercial at the start. this is your own product and you came right out talking about it.

Simon: we may never who made the stones or what exactly they mean.
John Oliver a year later: here's who made them and why.
I’ve been to the Georgia Guidestones. Super strange and creepy and huge. Literally in the middle of nowhere.
So, kind of apocryphal but my father claims that my grandfather (a stonemason from Italy) was one who helped erect the Georgia Guidstones. My grandfather and great grandfather also built most of Berry College by hand; chosen by Henry Ford himself to build it!
@@ZAPcon wow. That’s very cool. Do you know much about your grandfather? Did he know anything about the people that wanted them erected? Btw, Berry college is beautiful.
You know one of the main reasons I watch the show and his other shows is there wildly entertaining and most importantly fun it's fun learning holy crap why can't other people do this I really love me a good documentary along one sometimes better sometimes the worse What with Simon Mann to the point accurate And stuff that actually want to learn about thank you Simon for all your hard work and your team whoever they may be it is greatly appreciated keep up the good work and be well to you and yours.

beard blaze, the (n.): sudden incineration of facial hair when exposed to an open flame. e. g. When Old McHenry leaned across the campfire to grab a bottle of whiskey from his saddle bag, a sudden beard blaze illuminated the night.

The Georgia guide stones don’t exist anymore.
I absolutely adore your videos! There is one thing that's been getting to me though... There is a white dot (maybe a light or reflection?) That is behind your head on the desk with the lamp behind you. I keep thinking my phone is dirty but it's just that dot. The notion that reducing our population will somehow help us cure social ills is ridiculous. Humans have had social problems forever. We have cruel rulers, slavery, etc etc long before the population reached 500 million.
As for the environmental factor, I cannot say
