Writers write. You are writing, editing, choosing your covers, formatting your stories... this aren't things people who aren't authors do. You are 100% the real thing, and "The Weight of Her" is just such a smooth read, people can cozy up and enjoy it.
I believe in you JC. I’m sorry my comments led to imposter syndrome. I know you can hit the notes if you feel they will help the story. If it makes you feel any better, my middle grade is in its 10th draft right now and still got notes for a revise and resubmit. You’ve got this. I know you’ll end up with a book you’re super proud of. You know how to seed drama through a story to keep readers on their toes. I believe in you. ❤
Maybe the first draft is writing the book you want to read and the revisions is shaping the book for other people to read. That way it make sense to me that the first draft has little description and as you shape it for publication it gets more descriptive. Doesn’t mean you are a bad writer. It means that you write the book for you and then prepare it for others.
Every time I hear you say you struggle with descriptions, all I can think about is that you would make a great playwright (we sketch the world at best, but dialogue’s king in our medium)
Well there is this play that I have wanted to write for forever. Every time I watch your vlogs I actually think, hmmm maybe I can write that play, which will of course have music in it too. I even have a title for it already lol. I was also told I would good for writing television too, which I would love but I think I missed my window for getting into that medium (the industry is a little ageist when hiring TV writers lol) Thank you Maiga for watching and always being so supportive! ❤❤

Your doing great we all get a vist from impostor syndrome but we don't have to listen to it. 😊
15 books in and I still feel I have no idea what I'm doing tbh
Fight off that imposter syndrome by whatever means necessary! I usually throw rotten tomatoes at mine 😂😏
