Which is a weird thing to say, because the constitution clearly says theses amendments aren't rights you're being granted, they're fundamental human rights that we're simply spelling out to make sure they don't get messed with. Theoretically, the constitution could not exist and you'd still have those rights as the right to speak, assemble, and defend oneself are universal human rights. Not that governments anywhere tend to care about that, but it is what it is.

When you DO write your congressman or senator, HAND WRITE the outside of the envelope (not computer printed) and HAND WRITE your letter. This REALLY does make a difference in increasing having your letter spotted AND read.
One problem about the envelope: the Post Office doesn't like it when you write an address in cursive. Problem for me is that while I have the skilled, flowing script of a 70-year old grandma, I print like a 7-year old boy.

It seemed to me that when I donated to the NRA, they did two things I did not like: They sent me NRA gear that I did not want, and the money that was spent on that gear could have been used to help fight bad policy that only harms good people, and they just used my membership to bug me more about their desire for more money. I thought I was doing a good thing by donating to the NRA. AMGOA and FPC are looking attractive to me.
I can't stress enough the importance of local gun legislation groups as well. Here in California, we have the CRPA (California Rifle Pistol Association) and they've been doing a lot of great work driving the suits against magazine restriction. Become a member or donate to groups like these. Plus, they often have local chapter meetings that you can attend and engage in discussion.

It's true though, rifles are far deadlier than pistols and shotguns.
Accuracy and stability make a gun deadly, so by that logic blind-firing a mortar from my garden should be fine.

Which is a weird thing to say, because the constitution clearly says theses amendments aren't rights you're being granted, they're fundamental human rights that we're simply spelling out to make sure they don't get messed with. Theoretically, the constitution could not exist and you'd still have those rights as the right to speak, assemble, and defend oneself are universal human rights. It has never been their job to create legislation. That is the job of congress and the senate which are elected officials.

When you DO write your congressman or senator, HAND WRITE the outside of the envelope (not computer printed) and HAND WRITE your letter. This REALLY does make a difference in increasing having your letter spotted AND read.
One problem about the envelope: the Post Office doesn't like it when you write an address in cursive. Problem for me is that while I have the skilled, flowing script of a 70-year old grandma, I print like a 7-year old boy.
If you’re really lazy like me, hand write it once, scan it, create a vector in fusion 360, make some g code from that, and tape a pen to the extruded of a 3d printer

It seemed to me that when I donated to the NRA, they did two things I did not like: They sent me NRA gear that I did not want, and the money that was spent on that gear could have been used to help fight bad policy that only harms good people, and they just used my membership to bug me more about their desire for more money. I thought I was doing a good thing by donating to the NRA. AMGOA and FPC are looking attractive to me.
I can't stress enough the importance of local gun legislation groups as well. Here in California, we have the CRPA (California Rifle Pistol Association) and they've been doing a lot of great work driving the suits against magazine restriction. Become a member or donate to groups like these. Plus, they often have local chapter meetings that you can attend and engage in discussion.
