I think Joe is extremely intelligent and clever, but his biggest battle and worse enemy is his ego and temper. Which is fine. I struggle with those two as well. I just have the luxury of doing so more privately since I am not a public figure.
I liked this episode because so many men can relate to the situation Joe had with the Migos. How pride takes over and you want to get even just to show you're not someone to cross. The regret you feel when the situation is over does make you question why you disgraced yourself by acting in such a manner.
when joe budden was in the booth he did not get the respect he deserved, now everyone wants him to rap, he was an absolute monster lyrically on the mic, he already battled dudes, he bodied ransom, saigon and canibus out shined jay z on the pump it up beat, etc.
@@JustbeinFrank97 Yup. He's highly manipulative, doesn't know how to deal or value women...so yeah, I agree. Good guy to go to for advice...meh. He is interesting to listen to. But I do like his bluntness.
"I wasn't giving anyone power" joe is insecure of the power he may not have or may be losing, we get so infatuated with our first taste of power that once we see that it's fading. We do anything to keep it going. Power isn't the problem. Closure is.
@Kofi Essel-Appiah Interesting. I assume that you're referring to my closing statement. My perspective is that violence is a failure of the parent on many levels. It seems to me that if a childs behaviour warrants a beating from the parent then the parent failed a long time ago. I can't imagine ever feeling that inflicting pain upon my child is the right way to discipline or enlighten them to the error of their ways.
@Kofi Essel-Appiah I'm not getting the sense of being engaged in a conversation oblique slash debate, I am however, sensing a somewhat defensive posture regarding the whole 'inflicting bodily harm upon children' thing that I'm now fairly confident you either support, have most probably experienced and may well indulge in yourself. If so, I highly recommend communication over physical harm. Cheers
@Mama Three 'Time outs and groundings were for white folks' Interesting observation and one that certainly proves that it is highly difficult to not be judgemental when it comes to forming an opinion. We make judgements based on the available data and our own personal moral compass. You also said that as parents have become more educated they hit their kids less. Exactly. Its an outdated and defunct form of discipline and I will not be convinced that physically hitting a child is anything but a lapse of control fed by varying levels of parental frustration, anger and a certain amount of ignorance. You even appear to defend being hit based on the fact that you were hit, therefore its all normal. An argument that seems to be the go-to defense for all supporters of spanking children. As for my age. I'm a 70's child. I'm old enough to know exactly how I want to raise my son. I see everyday how my choice of discipline has developed a child that is capable of comparably advanced levels of communication, reason, compromise and an ability to verbally and mentally understand what it is to be a strong, confident, respectful and loving human being. Starting with the lesson that violence is reserved for self defense. Not for settling grievances or expressing emotions. If it is a cultural issue, something you alluded to, then I have little to no doubt that as the generation's pass, this form of discipline will be replaced with a far better and deeper form of guidance, in keeping with the absolutely beautiful and ultimately sacred responsibility that an adult has to a child. A responsibility to teach them everything they need to live in this world. I don't see where spanking fits in with that.
@Mama Three Parents make mistakes because humans make mistakes. I know I have. It's unavoidable. Those mistakes I refer to as parental fails. I certainly did not mean to suggest that parents that physically discipline are complete failures as parents. That would be a sweeping statement completely unfounded. I understand that you have a personal stake in this conversation and feel that my views attack your parents whom you obviously care a great deal for. It was not my intention to insult you or your parents. Having said that, my views on the matter remain steadfast. I teach my son through a different approach. He's a blessing in my life. The most precious gift. He amazes me everyday and I love him beyond words. I'm tough on him when he needs to know his boundaries though as that is of course part of my responsibility. I just cannot envisage ever striking him. It makes my skin crawl and my self respect fall. I'll take this opportunity to thank you for engaging me in a reasonable and concise manner. I appreciate the conversation. I wish you and your family many years of happiness and joy (spank free hopefully ;-)
@Mama Three Oh dear. Redundant. Ouch. How to best concisely retort without redundancy? Ok. My point stands. Any parent that hits their kid has failed to choose language over violence. They have chosen to inflict pain to make their point. I do not agree with it. Its lazy, ignorant and lacking in knowledge and awareness in general. Hows that.

I’m so glad the therapist talked about whooping kids cause I was not spanked at all as a child except for maybe on the hand or a small tap on the butt and I remember being a good child. Even to this day I don’t really go against what is told of me unless I absolutely disagree with it. I raised my two kids the same way and my 10 year old son is so good that all last year he didn’t have one clip down on his behavior chart at school. I dont think it is necessary to whoop kids but I do think it’s necessary to notice patterns of behavior and to talk to your kids and more importantly to explain what’s going on. They are kids. They don’t understand. It’s our job as parents to let them know that what they are feeling is real and give them healthy options to express themselves. I could see the world as a much better place if we all did this.

I'm healing right along with Joe and I refuse to mock him or any one for that matter when their mental health struggles lead them to act unpleasantly
Joe is a Virgo man, us Virgos are paradoxes, we’re blunt and cold, yet sensitive. We don’t care yet care too much, honest and abrasively honest, yet get defensive when it comes to criticism, ridiculously wise, and self aware, and great judgments of character, yet we always give the benefit of the doubt
If more people knew what “ego” really is I think it would be easier to not let it take control. Its just a low level of consciousness that your mind created, it’s nothing to be proud of yet a lot of people in our society get more respect for having an ego because of their own fears.

no bud gang😔
Blazing the entire therapy session!
I've clowned on Budden before, but I relate a lot to him. Probably clowning on myself too. What he said about being too quick for people, I struggle with my intensity even when I'm not unhappy it can make people uncomfortable. I'm healing right along with Joe and I refuse to mock him or any one for that matter when their mental health struggles lead them to act unpleasantly
Joe is a Virgo man, us Virgos are paradoxes, we’re blunt and cold, yet sensitive. We don’t care yet care too much, honest and abrasively honest, yet get defensive when it comes to criticism, ridiculously wise, and self aware, and great judgments of character, yet we always give the benefit of the doubt
wheres the full vid??
If more people knew what “ego” really is I think it would be easier to not let it take control. Its just a low level of consciousness that your mind created, it’s nothing to be proud of yet a lot of people in our society get more respect for having an ego because of their own fears.
This was Well needed!
I swear I can relate to joe on how he carries himself
Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees Yoda in this mans face when ever he talks and gives advice
