How's This SpongeBob Song 140 YEARS OLD?

  • SpongeBob SquarePants songs are tropical and iconic, fitting right in with the world of Bikini Bottom. Stephen Hillenburg and the crew make sure that the songs align with this underwater setting, and that especially applies to Aloha Oe, which was actually made in the late 1800s! What does it mean?
    Aloha Oe plays more than a few times throughout SpongeBob. It represents a new beginning, and a goodbye. In terms of the actual series, there may be something even more meaningful to understand, especially when understanding its placement! As the first song in "Help Wanted" and "Lost in Bikini Bottom", what's the true intention behind this SpongeBob song?

    The version famously used in SpongeBob was composed by 1985 by Hans Haider and was on the vinyl album “Hawaii and South Pacific”. Honolulu March (another famous SpongeBob song) was also on the album. The album, including Aloha Oe, was removed from APM (the music catalog SpongeBob uses) in 2010, but Nicolas Carr (the music editor) has the CD version made in 1991. This is the story, just figure you would know.

      What makes you say that the album was removed by APM?

    • @FuriousMan226
      @FuriousMan226 3 года назад

      @@1685Violin It was. The iconic version that played in Help Wanted of the track isn’t on APM. Nick Carr has the CD so this track can still play. Some other versions of Aloha Oe used on SpongeBob are on APM.

      Recently the album was added to EMIPM which could signify that it'll be back on APM. Of course since he had the CD that doesn't really matter.
