Only thing that could have possibly made this video even better is if we were to see you test the mascara on yourself 😂😂😂
the girl that was saying “so what? if i have a skincare product that works for my skin” blah blah blah was so manipulative lmao skincare cannot compare to a mascara. your skin is so much more personal. she sounds like she lies in all of her reviews lol
But she acting like the mascara would actually do that for some ppl like it may not work for you but it may work for me … no sweetheart it won’t do that for anyone so sit down lol
13:54 I’m far more interested in this girl trying to convince herself that lying isn’t lying than I am in the lash girl 😂
L'Oreal mascaras are really good products, in my opinion. It truly did not need the false lashes to promote it. Additionally, the makeup community is no longer a community after so much drama.
Yeah her lashes looked really good in the one coat picture why she felt she had to add falsies to the "second coat" I don't know
I love the one that has the white and burgundy container. I've used it for years and it looks like I'm wearing lashes. And it's super easy to remove (I don't like waterproof but there's that option).
@@Lizzypoohxo I like this one too :)
No, Loreal mascara SUCKS! If I have to get good coverage by putting on ten layers of mascara, it's dog shit. And despite my pic, I don't do dramatic make up. I like a more natural look and occasionally get glammed up. So I'm not even going back over it to make it look more dramatic or whatever. Plus, they are very expensive for being drugstore make up. Maybelline mascara does a WAY BETTER job, and cheaper!
@@wintermoon7003 I like Maybelline too
You should do a video on Maddi Russo, the 19-year-old arrested for lying about having cancer and profiting off of it. She posted quite a few videos online about her journey and illnesses.
I understand that it's been proven already that she's lying, but I'd find your analysis interesting nonetheless!
my jaw dropped
My suspicions about the girl in pink were confirmed when she said "exxpecially". Moving on.
😭😭😭lmao
Absolutely, lol
YES. I was thinking the exact same 😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
That chick in the pink is insufferable 😂. That part of the video was so hard to watch, I don't know how you got through that, probably multiple times AND analyzed it. Oh Logan, you're a better person than me.
Seriously, though! She made me want to 🤮
She’s sounds like an entitled brat.
@@klg4zy seriously! I couldn't tell if she was trolling or being serious but either way it was a bad take and as a female consumer, I don't agree with anything she said. She's probably in an MLM.
I would love to see you breakdown good actors v bad actors in movie/tv and how their non-verbal communication choices in their acting impacts the believability of their performances.
Poor Kathleen. She struggles so badly with confrontation, she has really bad social anxiety like I do, so I can totally understand her wanting to be as nice as possible, while also being annoyed and frustrated at someone😂
it was really nice to see this less serious video from you, it feels like just a little bit of fun outside of the more intense true crime stuff we see quite often! i would be happy to see these types of videos more often on your channel :)
"Doesn't everybody..." "other people does it too..." is NOT a defense 🤷♂️ rather it's the refuge of someone who is guilty
Right?! She just admitted in 4k that she's a liar and thinks it's ok because other people do it. 😂
I hate how the girl says 'if someone offered you 200 grand to promote a shitty mascara you would do it' maybe someone who had a lot of financial stress or a very low income WOULD do that as that money would be life changing. Mikayla isn't one of those people. She has enough money and enough influence that if she said actually I want to be able to disclose it as an ad and make that clear, L'Oréal would still work with her!
Observe engaging in our gossip is my favourite part of this channel 🥰
The girl in pink is saying it's ok to lie 🤥 and yes that video is deleted... She's wrong I unfollowed all of them! It's ridiculous
Okay or not, it's normal for human beings and practically all that influencers do. There is so much they lie about it's sick. Many of them recommend products that have harmful ingredients like a lot of Japanese skincare products packed with parabens or sunscreens with chemical filters from brands that have no funds to properly test their formulas and are obviously not broad spectrum. Anyways, them lying doesn't mean we should throw hate at them. Exposing is just enough.
She thought her money comes from companies, althought they won't give her a dime without viewers and followers. Lie to followers and they can always just leave, just like you did. Well done.
@@gayavardan there is zero credible evidence that parabens are harmful. There’s been plenty of independent testing done verifying protection of Korean and Japanese sunscreens after the issue with that small lab creating issues for small brands like Purito.
@@gayavardan Who was she anyway. I never seen her either. The second girl I remembered a while ago.
@@gayavardan lab muffin has a great video on parabens
Mikayla has a completely different persona and accent in earlier videos. Would be interesting for you to compare.
The girl in the pink just angered me so much. She’s the living embodiment of the phrase “this is why we can’t have nice things”. This generation only cares about themselves and won’t build things to last. 🙄
hes so tired of this kinda nonsense lmao!!! love him!
Yessss omg I was hoping you would do this! Thank you! Edit: I also wanted to say if the mascara was that amazing it would have done the same thing to her bottom lashes.
As someone who made my living as a professional makeup artist for over 15 years in Hollywood, I find this entertaining. The supposed benefit of watching an influencer should be that it's a real person showing you the reality of a product. Every mascara print ad or commercial that you've ever seen, the model is wearing false eyelashes along with the mascara. I was going to suggest that probably L'Oreal requested that she put some additional lashes on. But then one of the texts she claims that L'Oreal wouldn't allow that, which I doubt seriously. It looks pretty clear to me that she has added additional false lash hairs in the after shot. Really, with every mascara, don't believe the hype. They all have their downside and hopefully an upside. If you don't want to wear false lashes just comb out your mascara applications well after each layer. Choose one that has a little bit of thickening and lengthening qualities. And most importantly make sure that it doesn't smudge or run. Glad I have never spent more than this time watching any beauty influencers. I did meet one in person once who was quite sweet and well put together. And definitely wearing false eyelashes.
Observe??? Spilling nonverbal communication tea about the beauty community. This can’t be real!!! What a time to be alive. 😂
I'm so glad you chose to touch on this, although it probably would've done better for you if you were able to put it up a month or so ago. I'm part of the beauty community & I'm completely neutral on Mikayla & have ALWAYS viewed her as a shill. The second person you showed (at gym) is Kathleen Lights & she's a WHOLE other piece of work (SAME WITH JAMES CHARLES-YIKES) ! 😂 Thanks for doing this!
So basically I should go down the rabbit hole of watching that drama?? man I have not been into one of these dramas since Jacklyn Hill expired ones or Tatis 🤣🤣🤣😅
@@nahualito I haven't watched the beauty community since the bye sister video came out from Tati. I realised I was too invested in others lives and don't even know them. Argh!!!
@@sonjawilliams989 Same here, that was a crazy time tho .. drama was a biiiiit too high LOLOL
What did Kathleen do that was problematic?
@@FragranceEuphoria the incident that sticks out to me the most is when she said the n word while playing a VR game and jaclyn hill posted it to her snapchat. and then in her apology one of her excuses was that she had been drinking.
Honestly, lots of people seem to forget the phrase "two wrongs dont make a right"
Gym girl (sorry forgot her name) I don't read her as being deceptive, I read her as being super pissed off. Yes, there are a lot of makeup creators that show everything filter free and in different angles and lighting to show the reality of a product and review them well with multiple wears and state different skin types etc. So it is upsetting seeing fake people make it so big on their shitty attitude and practice
This video was hilarious. Your obvious pain in covering this topic was part of what made the video the video so funny because I am under the impression that you were making this video of your own free will. 😂 I agree that people being so nonchalant about lying is despicable, but I basically don't trust anyone in advertising because I don't have much evidence that people really value honesty anymore. I am willing to accept that I am probably wrong to be so cynical, but I have deeply rooted trust issues that I am working on with my therapist.
Thank you, Logan, for the entertaining and educational video. If you can stomach doing more of these, I would enjoy watching 👀 them 😂❤
Hi Logan, im from India and I was wondering if you could do a body language analysis on a Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. specifically on an interview he did on an Indian news channel with the anchor Arnab Goswami. There is controversy and drama. And i find that the interview is a gold mine when it comes to learning about body language and analysis. I understand not all would know Indian actors and such but for the sake of learning i think it will be jus awesome.
KathleenLights breaking eye contact with herself on camera was most likely just due to her general anxiety- she is very open about this. I have watched her for almost a decade. Her product reviews are very honest.
I'm living for the variety of content on this channel ☺️ I love it all!
I'm just going to mention a couple RUclipsrs I like, James and Robert Welsh (they're twins, James does skincare and Robert does makeup). They're English and I think they have better laws against false advertising than in the US. James has a whole "instagram vs reality" series where he focuses on false or misleading ads from other influencers.
I do genuinely enjoy these lighter videos in addition to some of the more serious topics you cover. Thank you for working to keep your content fresh and interesting.
The beauty community is mean!! While I was watching this I caught myself doing the “hugging” because I was once part of the beauty community and I know how cut throat they are.
The girl in the pink, while she's not "wrong" about brands faking the way their foods/products look for commercials and what not, the main difference is that's what the BRAND is promoting their product as. Whereas in the situation with Mikayla, she was not L'Oreal... she's an influencer.... influencing people to buy a product that she makes money from the brand...
😂😂 I love the fact you've got involved with this and added that first video 😂😂
I feel like the girl in pink feels attacked and called out. Maybe person in pink does this aswell? 😂 oppsie daisy won't be watching her reviews neither. I understand her example about skin care how ever its a mascara not skin care. It shouldn't have different effects with different people lashes 😂.
Nice to know she's so happy with lying for money though. Exposed herself
Around 10:20 the commentator is being dishonest specifically about the use of a filter in her video. Nobody has perfectly pore-free, smooth, sweat-free skin when taking a break at the gym. That is *absolutely* a filter & why she is so uncomfortable about the words "so honest." She knows she's lying too - by using a filter.
(I'm a Millennial who modeled from youth & onward & also have edited photos for about 20 years. I can almost always tell from being on both sides of the lens & computer screen. I knew exactly how I'd photoshop my nose, lips, lighten my eyes a little, remove acne or wrinkles or pores by hand. Nowadays, I understand what the filters are actually doing because I have a better understanding of what real skin looks like than "average." I've shown people me unfiltered & filtered & they're always surprised. The technology is *VERY* advanced.)
PS: 18:30 is also definitely using a filter & so is 19:40.
Not me running to the comments to see if that girl who got read to filth has come to the comment section to give the same attitude 😂
I am gonna be honest, I LOVE her!!! She is so real and so sweet. I think she made a really bad choice, BUT she is human. And got too wrapped up in the whole thing and made herself an embarrassing hole. I mean seriously, your friends could lie to your face every single day and you would never know, but because she is on social media we can all fact check and then I mean to be so crazy obsesesd with making other videos that these girls made is so ridiculous. How many times have those people lied?? Its not that big of a deal. Stop watching her and move on. And maybe see her for what she is, a human. She got wrapped up and messed up. We are lynch mob over a girl who made a mistake over mascara. Really?? But, thank you Logan for this video!!! It was a really awesome to learn from a deeper position than what we all saw from these other girls.
Really enjoyed this one! Some lighthearted drama is nice to watch 😄
What makes it worse is she kept saying in the comments lol L’Oréal would never allow me to wear falsies for a review! But then she did lol
You are a trooper for taking this on :)
Wow that influencer saying that it's ok to lie you can tell is a toxic and very dishonest person. Like a coworker and/or someone you wouldn't want to partner with. Companies do look through how you talk to the public about things (I and my husband work in Licensing and Marketing) and I wouldn't doubt that they wouldn't want to work with someone like that. How embarrassing. Also, found out she had since deleted that video, but people still have that video saved and using it to show how wrong it is to support this.
The person showing the product is the type of person to think that a shower curtain makes you invisible 😭😭
Maybe the majority of us adults should stop believing everything we see on the Internet? You can't get mad that way. I don't get why people get so overtly mad at others for being fooled, maybe don't be so gullible?
BEEN WAITING ON THIS ONEEE
Fhere was a false lash ad for this video 😭
Makayla has some die hard fans who will excuse and go nuts to defend her. That’s all the chick in pink was. Her attitude towards it feels very much like if dahmer were to compare himself to hitler he wouldn’t look such a bad guy, but like comparing yourself to the worst possible person will always make u look better than comparing yourself to a genuinely good person, therefore it doesn’t count, you still did a bad thing maybe just not as bad as someone else doesn’t mean it’s okay.
On another note: There are more than anough 'influencers' who get money and still shit on the product because the contract never stated that they didn't have to tell the truth about it.
Not everybody lies about products they get paid to review. Some are brutally honest.
Considering Lady In Pink didn't even mention this being a possibility (unless she really lives in such a toxic beauty bubble...which is concerning), I'm inclined to believe that literally anything she says about products she herself uses if false. Which...makes her the worst kind of influencer tbh.
At 8:16 That girl head shaking. Isn’t that just the culture and the drama and disbelief in what happened?
Are u McFreaking kidding me 😂😂😂 THANK YOU!
You forgot to mention her arrogant response to it
"literally", "changed my life" is so meaningless nowadays
I think I started to doubt these ads when I saw The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara a few years back. It was Gigi Hadid on the ad and her lashes just looked a little too perfect. No shade to Gigi but I’d prefer to try it for myself. 😅
I had no idea about this person, her voice/accent is totally unexpected.
It's also another lie! (I went down quite the rabbit hole learning about her.) 😳
She has botox, that is why "forehead desynchronization' , and I have mascara like this, it is crazy, it goes on like a fiber, and lashes double in length. Well, *had mascara like this, it probably wont work any more, I have not been eligable for a date in 12 years.
LOVED this!
That was fun Logan, thank you.
Why are “influencers” even a thing??? It’s says a lot about the state of the world…and not in a good way.
"Lashgate". 🤣🤣🤣
I love it! 🤣🤣🤣
When I see a sponsored post I know to take anyone’s review with a grain of salt. I only trust the ones that have no motive to lie.
Influencers became a thing because people like the honesty they don’t get from big corps THATS THE ISSUE🤦🏻♀️
The issue is not that brands do it, of course brands do it they need to promote their stuff. In plenty of commercials they use similar tactics to make their products look better, they do have it discloses in small don't on screen though, while Mikayla clearly said "it looks like false lashes" implying she wasn't wearing any. That's a blatant, open faced, lie, no matter how she or anybody tries to twist it. And whomever defends her condones this behaviours. Consumers look at influencers for more honest reviews but with sponsors offering lots of money to get recommended you really need someone with very strong ethics not to sell out.
Thanks Logan!
As well as deceitful!!
my two worlds have finally collided... couldnt be happier atm
Would love you to react to Jubilee's 'odd one out' to see how quick you can spot the mole/ liar!
I don’t understand why people are getting so upset about mascara. It’s a product that needs sales.
Excellent video, thank you.
It’s the thumbnail photo for me. ✨👌🏼
Are you going to do the new love is blind season? I love those vids 😍
Thanks for such amazing content!
I unfollowed her after this because I do not trust her. She cares more about making money, when there are people that barely have the $12 for this stupid mascara. I hate liars.
I been waiting for this one 😆
If you pay attention to what Mikayla said, she made sure to not to attribute anything to the mascara directly -- everything was manipulative and meant to be inferred. But for instance "Look at my eyelashes, look how long, wow!" and then she held up the mascara, but pointedly didn't say "Look how long the mascara made my lashes". She did her best to cover her behind by not making fully false statements, but at the same time said everything in a way that would have any normal person thinking "The mascara did that". She conned people and it probably took her quite a while to work out exactly what to say so that she could claim innocence if taken to court. It's the amount of deception, the effort she went through to fool people, to treat them like idiots that's the problem though, nothing to do with mascara. It's despicable. And the fact she did work so hard to make people believe the mascara was that much of a miracle...I don't think she could actually wiggle out of it if the law got involved.
I think I know what the girl in pink is about.
In german we have the phrase 'sich angesprochen fühlen' which in english translates to 'to feel spoken to' which means that you read something or hear something being said (usually negative in nature) and you yourself KNOW you are doing/saying those things, hence why you speak in a defensive or even angry manner while "defending the person that's spoken about". (You're really just speaking in third person/act like you are talking about another because you're too proud or scared to admit you yourself fall into the category of what was said/written about.) It's also often shockingly easy to tell if this is the case when someone gets defensive or angry.
It would perfectly match her behavior and what she says and, sadly enough, in the beauty community I think finding a person behaving like this because they know they fake their stuff too to get money is not exactly rare...
Just saying. But it really heavily seems that way to me. 🤷♀
Pretty sure it's called "projecting" in english
@@weltraumkotze That would work too, but the german phrase and it's meaning are more specific than the english word. XD
@@Managable_Mayhem I know, I'm German... I think "self-snitching" also fits, but it's more slang
Those eyes are gonna rebel as she gets older.
She pulled a Meghan Markle! 😂
If that mascara could do that, it would have sold out within a couple hours of being put on the shelves. I think the largest demographic making the purchase would be balding men!
I know people want long thick lashes but any product that could grow or in some other way magically make hair immediately, I don’t think lashes would have been main way to use that product. There are plenty of products created for PURPOSE 1 yet people usually purchase it bc they find out it’s great for PURPOSE 2
The background music as he's talking let's me know exactly how he feels about this topic 😂
Couldn't it be possible that the desynchronization between upper and lower half of her face is a result of Botox?
The one trying to defend her accusation makes me laugh. She recorded that and decided it was good enough to post huh? Food and makeup are two very different things. The appearance of ice cream not being as pretty as it is on the box doesn’t affect my self esteem.
I agree on most points, but not on James Charles... he was making a parody review- the no falsies required while showing a row missing in addition to having longer, fuller lashes on one eye was part of the tip-off that it was parody.
"Isn't everything lying?" No, it's not but if that's what you think I don't care what else you have to say
People act like ‘everyone does it’, but that doesn’t make it okay. Do you really want to waste your hard earned money on something that an influencer has manipulated to make a paycheck? I know I don’t.
Please do a video on Love is Blind season 4!!
I think what is upsetting about this is Mikayla us known for being really down to earth and really real. Then again, I don’t think that what she showed isn’t out of the realm of possibilities. Though she could have put on a pair of false lashes, she could have just as likely taken hours to perfect the four layers she said she put on to get the best result for the sponsorship. She could’ve started the video and sunrise and finished it at sunset, with the studio lights, we just don’t know. I haven’t heard of any other weird things with her, so I’m willing to believe her if she said she didn’t lie, but I also trust other beauty RUclipsrs who have more experience than I do. It’s a tough situation.
"Expesually"
I do have a question. How do scandals get their names(like Lashgate or Watergate)? What does the gate mean and stuff?
Most People: it's ok to embellish your resume a bit
What they mean: you worked on a project for 3 weeks. Put on resume "Have experience working on project for a month" (just reasonable example)
What some people do "Project manager 5 years"
Do you think that Botox in her brow and forehead area could lend to the discontinuity between the upper and lower parts of her face?
Mads.Yo potentially ruined many of her future sponsorships, even if she gets them, a solid chunk of her audience likely won't buy anything she recommends again because they can't trust her honesty in the review 😂😂 ........sometimes it's best to not get involved
I have tried every single mascara out there and all those models and this girl is wearing false eyelashes. The reason why her lips look the way they do is that there is a trend with girls using suction devices to bring all the blood to their lips. She has definitely done this. They wear it overnight. lol
Logan reviewing tiktoker's review?! you love to see it! 😂
Really, mascara is mascara, all the ‘brand new’ ‘extra’ is the same stuff in a different tube😂😂
everyone lies? everyone dies too, i guess i should just die
In my mind, there is a HUGE difference between advertising agents creating fake commercials and people on youtube/tiktok reviewing products and embelishing things. I love Loreal Mascara and find that its one of the best drug store brand mascaras....there was no need to fake results.
Looking fab Logan thanks for another great vid
You’re a legend for this one 😹
The one in pink is doing so much projecting and self snitching
"Like, I'm like, just so... confused. You know?" Yeah.. I know, I have a feeling you are confused OFTEN. Plus, I can see how ethics would confuse you as well, seeing as you don't seem a fan of them.
It’s about time you did this. ABOUT TIME!
Yea no ew ew ew to anything James Charles
Madison seriously needs to be quiet, the examples she provided have absolutely nothing to do with what has happened
