It's not fair, he obviously has fantastic balance, and flexibility, lol I'll never get there but at least I can practice.

Not only that, but in one of his videos he mentioned that in his 30’s he had a health problem that interferes with his body too, but by controlling his diet he was able to mitigate it.

@@shotokankarate9690 wow, I didn't expect to see a reply from you directly, sensei. I am so glad that you were able to overcome this condition.
Can I just take this opportunity to tell you that I love your work and your videos?
I have an aikido background (15 years), and I've recently started karate (1 year). I was looking for a way to tap my existing skill set to help my karate when I stumbled across your videos. You put things in a way that I can understand, and I have received a lot of positive comments from my dojo when I started internalizing the lessons I learned from your videos. I am very appreciative of everything you have posted. Thank you.

I can see Gigo Funakoshi's spirit trough your teachings. That Savate's fouette becoming a chusoku mawashi geri is really something. As and old TKD practicioner myself I'm feeling nostalgic about what we lost on the road of the olympic recognition.

Sensi Rick, I would like to say that the ideas for motion, technique, center and the control you perform is what caught my attention to start checking out your content it’s amazing. The number one thing that totally caught my attention is the way you view life’s journey. “Life should be a celebration and it’s great the we all got invited to the party at the same time.” As amazing as you have and continue to create your karate, the talks are moving to me. I’d like to thank you for accepting the offer of the student asking you to video the content. Thank you very much! 🙏🏼

Gosei Yamaguchi, son of Gogen Yamaguchi “the cat” has been training these principals of center balancing, speed and velocity in Goju Kai since the 60’s in the USA. Glad to see a focus on these traditional aspects, especially precision striking and kicking with no protective gear, as Americanized karate has drifted from this curriculum.

Yes, recovery for a kick with guard and balance is the hard part that most do not have. That variation of a mawashi, is what we call arc kick, kinda like a slopping roundhouse without much hip rotation to get a real horizontal movement
