I am contemplating a cruise with MSC but feel this dining package might be a bit of a rip off. I cruised with NCL and you could order of whole menu and as much as you want. So on the sushi menu was that restricted to certain items? Was there also restrictions on how much you could order? Thanks for any info.
I believe the choice was in the upper part of the menu. My dish was one of the options. There were a la carte options you had to pay for. Honestly I’m not sure about extra portions or a few of different things. My dish was a variety and so huge I couldn’t finish it! So I guess ask beforehand at the restaurant before you dine! It was a good meal! I think you have a good point, though! I’d be curious to know that!
Great video! Looking through MSC videos, and booking for 1st time, I wouldn't mind trying the seafood place. Menu looked very good. I can't find this answer, If I cruise w just main dining room plan, will I be able to try a specialty place - of course paying extra for it. Also, what's your thoughts on a drinks package? I'd want a few wines at my meals and some beers pool side. Paying individually seems like it could get pricey.
Specialty dining is open to everyone. You pay either ahead of time or the day you embark visit the restaurant and ask if they have specials. I got a 30% discount for booking 3 places. I don’t know if they discount for one. Regardless you can eat there and it can be lunch or dinner. You tell them what day and time and then you go there instead of the dining room (if it’s dinner). It’s easy! Enjoy. I liked it a lot!🍣🍤 thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing. About to take this same cruise soon and very excited. Thinking about purchasing the three specialty dinning package. So when you pay for the package, can you choose three items from the “designated” menu at each restaurant at no extra cost?
Yes you can choose your restaurant and gratuity is included. Wine or drinks are extra. The menu could be a set menu, like in the steakhouse. The upgrades are listed on the menu. ( the designated choices are good enough!). It would be something like lobster or filet mignon. I don’t remember what that costs. Ask at the restaurant day 1 to see a menu and then you can decide! Thanks for watching! Have fun!☀️🚢
I was on an MSC ship last month. It was not a good experience. Dinner in the main dining room..shrimp cocktail was $4.95! I've been on more than 70 cruises and I have NEVER paid for shrimp cocktail. Usually they are pushing another on you. I see MSC much like a low-cost airline. You're going to pay for a lot of things that other lines provide for free.
I didn’t catch the shrimp cocktail up sale… I do agree the add ons are annoying. My experience was nice overall. Princess offers shrimp cocktails in the buffet! It’s free. I think your cruise cost does make a difference in what is included! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! Before I went on the cruise, I got an offer of $99 per person for 3 meals. It was $33 per meal per person. If you walk up and have no package it would be around $59 per person. The prices could have gone up or down, check the website or on the ship you can verify. Enjoy!☀️🚢
If they want to keep up with the other cruise lines they're going to have to change this practice. Id imagine they're trying to make up for the money they dont get off of the price of the cruise since cruising with them is so inexpensive.
Do you like to dine at the specialty restaurants? Let me know in the comments!
I do 🙌🏻 I loveeeeeed the sushi restaurant on the MSC Seaside. Best sushi we’ve seen on a cruise ship!!
The presentation was pretty spectacular! So much food! I agree it was excellent! Thanks for watching!😊🚢🚢☀️
Thank you for the review! We sail on the Meraviglia in March! We can’t wait!
It’s a beautiful ship! Thanks for watching and happy cruising!☀️🚢
We probably will be at the same time. Good luck!

Pre and post Covid NCL are much different. You cannot order all you want in the specialty restaurants. One entree per person, 1 app, etc

the dining experience is that like a package or just the price of the meal included in the box for 59 for one meal?

I think they are trying some different things. It’s trying to get use to the US market…it’s an Italian line! ☀️🚢
Did anyone try the Mexican restaurant
I did not get a chance to try it, but it looked like a nice menu!
I ate there twice
The food is excellent although small portions but I believe you can order a second portion for free
Ask the waiters first
@@timormson3113 it was all you can eat when I went

If sushi is what you love, you’ll enjoy the sushi restaurant, for sure. The food is great!
