QOTD: What kind of resources are you looking for as a queer person?
I’ve begun thinking about making a comprehensive resource for everyone who watches my channel to access so that they can find resources they need. Noticing the mess and sheer number of links to queer resources, businesses, and organizations, etc. that are beginning to build up in the descriptions of my videos, I think it will be good to start making a comprehensive resource for you all that will have a more organized way of finding resources you need or want. Please put QOTD in your responses to this question as it will make it easier for me to search for your answers. Thank you!!
Remember to try to eat and stay hydrated. Remember to follow precautions and bind safely if you are binding. These include not wearing a binder for over 8 hours, stretching, taking breaks, and just breathing. And if you are tucking please follow precautions so you can do it safely. Just like binding, you shouldn’t tuck for over 8 hours. If you can take breaks, then it is advised. With both binding and tucking please read up on advises precautions for safety and possible risks. And remember that no matter what you are going though now, no matter how hard it will seem- it always gets better. I know this is something you’ve probably heard a lot but you only hear it because it’s true. It could get harder before it gets better but it does get better. I have known ONE person who actually has a gaydar and a scarily accurate one at that.
And want to know why? Because she doesn’t base it off aesthetics. She pays attention to how people act specifically around attraction.
huh, I base my gaydar about things people choose to project about themselves to signal gay people, I feel like looking any closer than that is invasive

My personal “gaydar” is based purely on vibes or in the rare occasion, pins and stickers. Only once have I been wrong, and I only asked because she had like- three pride stickers on her water bottle.
Yeah it is hard to tell for most people. I will have a vibe at times, but would always ask if I really needed to know. Again, I would only ask someone who I knew at least a bit because it is private information.

As what I suppose you could call a “baby queer”, I’ve been “taught” (by the internet) to see the white queer aesthetic as the general queer aesthetic and it’s really good to have someone point it out. Because while I definitely realized the lack of representation of different races (that’s what it’s called? English isn’t my first language) in the queer community, I did not realize the power white people still have in this space, that’s supposed to be oh-so diverse. Looking back, that’s actually kinda naive, but whatever.

Hello the lgbtq+ community. I hope no one judges me. I just realized that I am an asexual instead of a lesbian. I know switching from one sexuality to other is stupid but I just feel that asexual is right for me. I cried so much last night because I did something wrong but I just wanted to get it out of chest. My gay discord friends judged me for it so I was a bit afraid. Thank you for listening to me. Thank you for understanding. It means a lot 💖

@Bubble Bunny someone who identifys as agender is someone who does not identify with any particular gender. Some people say that they're gender neutral, I like to say I'm genderless. Hope this helped

About the blue haired girl who talked about this topic, 4:57 spoke facts. So in webtoon, the most popular genre in canvas is bl. The thing with this yaoi or bl is, it just s** and make up and fight and drama. No genuine romance content. A wholesome bl named the doctor are out is lower in the originals cause it doesn't contain s**. 90% of the yaoi creators are straight and the only good bl and written by people who have gone through the exploring the gay phase of the people who are gay. Even in Yuri, the age difference is like this, a twelve year old liking a 25 year old woman. You can't just excuse cause it Yuri and yaoi and it happens in it. It stupid. Allow good representation of LGBTQ+ and if y'all can't do it, then please go. This influences the young people in the community. We aren't focused with s**, the straights are somehow are.
Hell yeah! As a queer transman, it's pretty tiring hearing the same story over and over again.
Some good reps for queer relationships in Webtoon that I found is My Dictator Boyfriend. It's made by straight authors, but who understand and respect the queer community.
I remember reading about the doctor and my heart was so happy reading it, it’s very Nice and highly recommended.^^
I read a decent amount of queer manga, considering the amount I've actually seen available as a physical copy, and recently a lot more of it is being written by LGBTQ people. I absolutely love boys run the riot, trans guy dealing with school, and 10 dance, the two main characters have the exact same name and it doesn't have s** in it from what I've read. Outside of manga I've found heartstopper, the first queer book I ever read, 13 year old me had an awakening.
Oh! Also the source material for the untamed is finally getting an official English translation, highly recommend reading if you have the will power to read the build up.
@@sapphicvampire8504 yes it super good! I can't understand why it isn't high when it is such a beautiful comic which just doesn't focus on the gay personality of the character rather explores all aspects and flaws of it. It just too wholesome

At my school, the library has a LGBTQ+ book section. Its in the middle, with the small rows of books, so its like the same size as the romance, sports, and mystery novels. I have seen a bunch of trans books and mlm books, but only like, 2 sapphic/lesbian books. And that makes me sad. Like, I want more sapphic novels.

I saw the part of this video about binding (5:41) and thought I'd just real quick ask this question:
So I'm a cis woman (as fair as I know) and I don't really struggle from dysphoria or anything, but I don't really like my chest if you get what I mean, so I've tried this double sports bra thing, but it doesn't seem to work (for me at least). I'm not sure if that's just me, or if the bras I'm using aren't the right tightness for it, but I'd appreciate some discrete alternatives or answers because I don't really feel like trying to explain this to my parents (also they probably would try to stop me because "Why do you need too????"). I also figured this could help anyone who is also having this issue and is actually suffering for it (this issue isn't a big one for me other than preference).

Hey as a person who is Indian and a proud lesbean who is also non-binary I can confirm that even though I dress "Traditionally gay" and quite androgynous no one I have ever dated has read me as queer. Except two people and one of those people, as predicted was also a POC.
The first one made me laugh bc my oldest sister came out to her dad as trans (we have different dads, he’s my stepdad) but he’d just underwent a major brain operation after a coma and so it took him a little bit to fully understand what she was talking about but ultimately he was supportive and then he forgot and she had to come out to him again but like he would keep forgetting and at this point she has to come out to him at like every family dinner lol

Mingalabae has a point, and as a poc enby ace lesbian, yeah. People usually don't clock me as queer because they clock me as hispanic first. I get the "You don't look gay" a lot bc I don't look like the stereotypical white nonbinary person or the stereotypical white lesbian. Perks are that I can quite easily pass myself off as a straight cis girl in white-dominated spaces.
When I was little, my favourite book was called “the purple kite”. Nothing weird, right? Well then, in big letters on the back of the book it says “part of the gay colour book series.” It was an old book and it meant happy colour

I have a question. Queer poc online have a lot of good points about white people when it comes to queer spaces and advocacy. Now, I am white, I am a lesbian. I think everyone should have equal opportunities and that nobody is of greater or lesser ability because of the color of their skin or heritage. I want to be inclusive, I don’t want to over generalize, I don’t want to appropriate other cultures, and I sometimes wish I wasn’t white because of the white people around me. am I invading a queer space by being white? At what point am I overstepping my limit? Should I be ashamed of my race?

The last one is really interesting to me because I kinda disagree, the reason I wouldn’t expect that second person they described to be queer isn’t because they’re not white but it’s like a country thing I think. Cause like I could see a white, black, Hispanic, Asian, or a person of any other races wearing stuff like the first outfit and think they’re gay bc that’s the way we identify eachother in America (and probably other predominantly English-speaking countries) but that doesn’t mean that the second outfit ISNT a queer aesthetic, it’s just not the most western one which is why a lot of western people wouldn’t recognize it
Obviously aesthetics aren’t the defining factor but it’s a good way to get a first impression before you talk to the person
