I've watched a lot of your videos and I've seen the frequent feedback to not break at the waist and to stand up more straight, but whenever I get on the snow and do a medium+ jump, as I speed up I just naturally hunch over. If I try standing up straight, it feels very unstable. Do you have other physical cues that could help improve this? I've heard to squeeze glutes, are there other suggestions?
I’m pay around with different riding positions as you straight line. People’s main issue usually is when they try to not break up for waste. They stand up too straight, causing her weight to be shifted towards her heels. You need a bit of your legs, but you need to make sure your upper body isn’t leaning forward so much, but it froze your body weight Away from the balls of your feet
Doing barbell squats will teach you to keep proper position because the weight on your shoulders forces you to keep your torso more upright. Also think about how you would perform a standing vertical jump... Def wouldn't hunker forward. Honestly I think half the battle is just spending more time on jumps and in the air. Over time your body will start to figure things out, but learning from these training videos will make you conscious of these things and expedite the learning process.
This awesome man!! Exactly what I was hoping to see regarding comparisons of doing it wrong and a visual of what it looks to do it right. Thank you!!
Stoked it helped! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏🏻
Great breakdown, thanks! I sometimes skid out on my toe edge when I land, any tips how to correct this?
Could be a lot of things. Probably leaning forward but hard to say
