Hello! Being a fairly new subscriber, I wanted to watch some of your older videos, so I searched and found "Story of Victory", and I must tell you it really blessed my soul! What a beautiful testamony from both of you! I hope all of your subscribers watch this video and see what God can do in their lives and what He's done for you. Love your channel and looking forward to watching more of your videos. Take care!
Mmmm I love soup!!! Wasnt there a show years ago called Gullah Gullah Island? Lol Hmmm now I have to look it up and their history. Thank you Leslie!! 😊❤
Lesley,we have a Gulla community here close to me on the North Carolina coast....several of them really...and yes they still have their own ways and language....great history ...
Like a river flowing towards the sea, may you navigate this week's challenges with grace and ease, and may you emerge stronger and more resilient on the other side. Have a Beautiful and Blessed day and week ahead. See you next video. Stay safe and healthy. God Bless.
@@MrsAlmaTrumble It has been raining for the most of the day today here too. We had considerable thunder & lightning this evening but it seems to have passed now. I will say I love our overnight temps this week in the 40s...Saturday night it's even expected to dip into the 30s. My sleeping has been pretty rough so having that added plus is very welcome!
@debgalloway1398 I'm sorry, friend. Hubby has a rough time sleeping due to chronic pain. We had a scare last night. Our Robbie, who is our 17 year old pitbull. He doesn't have much longer. He stopped breathing.
@@MrsAlmaTrumble I am so sorry about Robbie, my Angel isn't doing well now either. They truly pull at our heartstrings. Understanding your hubby, that's my problem with sleep too. I have added pain from PT right now but that will pass & get back to my typical after a while. Many prayers will be said for you, your hubby & Robbie friend. Have the best night possible!
The basket Tammy gifted you with is beautiful! I watch both of you and Souper at 60 and Whipperwill Holler. I love watching all you share. God bless you and yours🙏❤️❤️🙏
You're right, yours is shrimp stew with okra. I'm a native Charlestonian whose roots are from Edisto Island, SC. In order for it to be Gullah stew or gumbo as we call it, you can't alter the recipe. Ours usually have a little kick to it (a little spicy). However, I know yours was delicious. I can tell by the ingredients that you used.
Dearest Leslie, this is my first time commenting on one of your videos. A First let me just tell you how very much I love watching you and your beautiful family on your channel! I have actually been watching for quite sometime. I regret not commenting till now. I am watching in Illinois. It’s just past midnight here. I watch your videos/channel every everyday. They bring so much joy to me! I just wanted to comment on this video. First off, I loved your trip to Charleston! It really was beautiful! Second off, your surprise cost with Tammy and Chris was amazing! I also enjoy watching Collared Valley Cooks! I have heard you speak about your admiration for Tammy and Chris. It’s so easy to see why! Anyway I wanted to just say to you just how very proud of you I am. It’s clear to say your love and care for the Galah ppl and their heritage is so heart warming! It was plain to see the love you have for these people. Along with the desire to learn as much as you could about them, and their way of living. When you were talking about them you became so emotional. And just bare honesty. And the way you wanted to come back home and find a recipe from there heritage, just truly touched my heart. So thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful family and lives with us! I feel truly blessed to watch your channel. You precious family has in many ways became my family as well! I have developed a love for your beautiful grandchildren, and all of y’all. Also I love couch time and hearing Bryant’s summery of his Sunday morning message. I just want to thank you and the family for letting us peek into your life and times! I would really one time if possible, as I know you have a lot of life going on, I would love to see a get together with you and Bryant and the kids, so a sing along! And preferably play some guitar and sing some hymns. Maybe after dinner one night. I know you and Bryant and Caroline can sing beautifully! I would live to hear some of the older hymns with some of the newer one throne in. I’m rambling now. So I have one more thing I need to tell you. I have an adult child with Autism. He has gone through some very hard times . His father left after being arrested for domestic battery. I was forced to get a restraining order against him. Long story short he fled the state of Illinois and went to Texas to live near one of his 3 grown sons in both Texas and Oklahoma. He didn’t bother to tell us that he was leaving. In fact I found out at the next court date, when he didn’t show up. So he left this state without so much as a warning or a goodbye! He completely abandoned my then 16 year old autistic child. This is so painful for him. He cry’s all the time and blames himself for it happening. But that is not true. I am so heartbroken for my son. He has a sadness that just won’t go away. Anyway he really likes Bryant! As a pastor, a husband and especially his fathering. And he likes his jokes. And loves the way that when Caroline calls for anything he leaps into action and takes care of his baby! So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you do! I appreciate your time and dedication! Thank you for all you do!!! I am disabled, and sometimes the stress of our lives can me to much! But you and you and your dear family help make my days so much sweeter! So thank you! And may God keep you and bless youvalways
Thank you so much for your very special message. It has meant so much to me. I just lo e your son and don't even know him. Please tell him that Pastor Bryant says hello. Reach out to us anytime!
Awesome video, Leslie! Thank you so much for sharing about the Gullah culture and also this wonderful recipe! It looks so delicious, I love trying other cultures’ foods. I didn’t know Kumbaya was from the Gullah language. The way you sang that, Leslie, you have the voice of an angel. I listened to it several times. I love you guys, God bless you all 🤗❤️🙏
It's a must to share all the different cultures and all that we bring to each other . Not a fan of okra but that looks really good and when your're used to certain spices in similar dishes it does make a difference! Still really great recipe! Thanks Leslie & PB!
Hi Bryant,Leslie The history in Charleston is rich in culture ❤your stew looks delicious 😋 enjoy Ms Tammy blessed you with that gorgeous basket 💗so very generous & thoughtful🦋she’s the best!
I am sitting in the airport at Charlotte NC. I just finished eating Bo'Jangles for the first time & it was amazing. I had to try the Bo berry biscuit & I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was all because of your recommendation. Thank you so much😊
I have never had okra. before. How would you describe what it tastes like? I also heard you mention it has a slimy texture when being cooked. Other than for this recipe how would you suggest I cook it for the first time?
This looks like a really good recipe, Leslie, but no cerole seasoning for me. I don't do spicy. I did really enjoy your Charleston trip. Thanks for taking us along. Here's a riddle for Bryant, do you know why the optometrist always charge moms twice as much as anyone else? Because they have eyes in the back of their head!
The soup sounds wonderful but you always scare me with your skillet handles sticking out waiting on an accident ready to happwn. Voice of experiencw.talking..

Good evening Leslie and Bryant 👋👋👍🥰👍♥️🙏
I love Roma tomatoes in my salad. Vegetable soup has to have okra for my taste too
Hope you had a great day
Thanks for sharing this recipe, it looks good. I am surprised that it was so bland because African recipes are usually very spicy.
My bff, who lived in Charleston, gave me a small seagrass basket. They ain't cheap!!
I agree with more shrimp & salt. Plus, like y’all I think I’d be expecting a Creole flavor with all that okra & shrimp. 😊❤😊🙏
I have never had okra. before. How would you describe what it tastes like? I also heard you mention it has a slimy texture when being cooked. Other than for this recipe how would you suggest I cook it for the first time?

133,000! Way to Go!
It looks good but I bet some chopped up ham would lend a nice flavor.
That looks good I sent you something in the mail look for it Monday or Tuesday
Awesome thank you!
Been missing your jokes!
Spray door hinge with pam and wipe. WD apparently collects dust
We call that gumbo here in La.
Hi Herb Ox has no salt chicken bouillon packets. Not in beef just chicken.
Looks really good except the okra🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
cannot hear a rhing
