      Don't sell your religion to people. It makes you sound like a telemarketer. It's disingenuous. It's like if I came up to you and said. "Did you know Jesus once told a man it's better to commit suicide than corrupting christian kids." (Mark 9:42) No repentance. You probably didn't want to hear or that. They will try it when they want to go for it.

    This is so true. As a young person, I didn't really follow this command of God. But as I've gotten older, if I'm serious in my faith, I've realized that close friendships with non-believers do not work. I'm not saying I never talk to non-believers of course.

    Havent been really struggling with my close friends disrespecting my faith, I cut off contact with those ones (with whom I wasn't much close tbh) and my close and true ones do respect my choices and faith but sometimes I do feel this barrier with some stuff that are normal or "alright" to them that aren't to me anymore. So this video was helpful make reassure me that when such things come up I must also stand up for my faith and explain my Christian pov over it. I must be a light to them but not let em drag me into darkness again. Tysm, God bless!

    i had to end a 23 year friendship because me and this person just didn't align anymore and everytime i spoke to this person I felt drained and that we were on two different spiritual paths as we did not agree on anything anymore. She would try to speak a lot of death over my life and i didn't come into agreement with any of it. she tried to tell me how God cant be in all places at once things like that. I had to rebuke it all. she had a big outburst of how i think I'm better than anyone and i follow these books "the Bible" i removed myself straight away from that friendship, the light of Christ working through me was clearly upsetting the darkness and voids within her and i became offensive to her just thorough my healing journey

    To anyone who is in a mostly protestant country, such as the US, use what God has given you, go to your church, fellowship with pther believers, and be a light to those who do not believe, use the blessing he gave you, because in some places, just as the one I'm in, there aren't many Christians, I've still yet to find some my age, use what you have and be thankfull, because here, here it is quity lonely

    Whats hard when you start introducing bible verses and explaining this topic is that, what happens when its a parent, like father, who does not follow God? I just leave my father? Ive been trying to be a light for my family, especially for my dad. And i plan on doing more to plant seeds and pull them closer to God. Its hard also because my dad couldn't be more different/opposite of a person from me.

    I disagree. Here’s why… yoke means being bound to. You are not bound with your friends. Unlike if they were your spouse or business partner where there is a responsibility to work together. With your friends, you can choose not to associate with them - you can say no!
    The disciples were Jews, and Jesus lived a jewish life whilst completing the law that takes us to his new covenant. Therefore he “allied” himself to them in his time before and after his resurrection. And they went in two, as “partners” that were equally yoked by Jesus. They were more than friends.
    If we cant be friends with non-believers because of 2 corinthians 6:14, might as well quit your jobs, because you will naturally form friendships there. Unless its an all Christian job or you hide yourself away in a cupboard.

      @Dude Yes the "vs" is there because many denominations teach soul sleep, and others teach life after death, personally I believe in the words of JESUS (John 11:25) that he that dies if he believes, shall live. But many "soul sleep" believers run to Ezekial 18:20.

    • @EloraSelah
      @EloraSelah Год назад

      @@jerichowallsinjeopardy4634 also mostly negative depressed Christians mostly support soul sleep. They have taken this theory from Jehovah's witness and seventh day Adventist which are full of false teachings. I don't know how they cherry pick up theories from such denominations.

    Yeah and then you wonder why lose friends. This is my problem with lots of Christians. The hypocrisy theory just never seems to prove itself. Just because you believe in a made up religion you chose to be “selfish” as you said, which last time I checked, isn’t selfishness a sin? Like dude I don’t have a problem with religion people but can’t stand when people make it their whole personality and use it as an excuse to hurt people who care about you

    • @ebobwed1998
      @ebobwed1998 Год назад +3

      Yes selfishness is a sin but also hanging out with people who can easily influence you and make u walk down the path a darkness instead of light. """Corinthians 6:14
      “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
      Do people suddenly think Christians are perfect when they are born again or come to Christ for the first time? We still have that sinful nature in us that we have to control. We will never be "perfect" on our own, that's why we gotta choose our friends wisely. It's not too hard to understand not wanting to be friends with someone that doesn't have the same interests as you or beliefs. No one should act like a people pleaser to keep friends that should grow with you. And if u wonder why Jesus sat with sinners, it's because those sinners were repentant and open to the idea of the gospel. He didn't sit with people who thought they were doing good when in reality, they are sinful. He sat with those who wanted to turn away from their sins and follow the messiah. "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:31-32)".The sanctification process doesn't happen over night. People will always have something they are struggling with, even after they come to Christ. I know I have, since I had to recently cut myself off from a person who did nothing wrong other than not have the same beliefs as me. Why did I do that? The friendship felt like I was walking on eggshells and wouldn't you want to be with someone you can be your authentic self around? Is it suddenly not fair for a Christian wanting the same thing?
      Some people make video games their whole personality. Others make kpop their whole personality (my friend idolized these people). Every believer has a reason for cutting off friends deliberately. If you ask, they will certainly let you know. People hate anyone who finds something or in this case, someone that makes them happy. It's a little selfish to see you get mad over people who are "religious" finding their identity in something and finding their selves through it, and not wanting to be around those who can't accept that part of them.
      Don't be a hypocrite. Non- believers go through the same thing.
      Remember, there is a difference between a Christian and a born again believer. Anyone can be a Christian, but most Christians will go to hell simply because they haven't been born again. So whatever hypocrisy you're talking about, it's definitely targeted to people who don't read the word of the Lord, who only go to church on Sunday or who project their own flaws on others because they fail to see the flaws in themselves.
