If you're trying to install a PIXMA MG3522 on your desktop or laptop computer using a USB cable, the setup application will let you know when to connect the cable and turn on your printer so that it may be properly detected. You'll want to delete any extraneous printers from your computer beforehand so that the setup application doesn't get confused. Hope this helps!

Follow the instructions shown in the video, and when you reach the screen shown at 1:58, tap the "Direct Connection" options and follow the instructions that appear on your iOS device. Does my printer have to be plugged into my router for this to work? I want to be able to print from my ipad. Printer is currently only connected directly to a desktop computer, not the wireless router. Thanks.

If you want your PIXMA MG3522 to talk to more than one device, you'll need to unplug it from your computer and then link it to your router which will in turn make your printer available across your network. That link to the router can be wireless or via a cable. Once your printer is on your network, both your computer and your iPad should be able to access it. Hope this helps!
