Bro I’m here because I’m packing out a customers apartment for demolition and he’s military with a flag up 😂 so you might think you don’t need it but there’s always the chance
This was a great tutorial. An American lady came into work asking if I could frame her flag. Thanks to this tutorial and a bit of practice, she was very impressed with the job done. And now I know how to fold an American flag. Many thanks from Ireland 👍👍
Thank you! I did it rn - very cool. I'm not an American, but I love your culture, your folks, wildlife, nature, movies, cuisine - so I have your flag 🇺🇸💙
Great video and a good thing for people who never learned. I was lucky enough and can’t Thank my pops(aka grandpa),WWII navy captain I’ll never forget the times I was lucky enough to help him fold the flag. Started at age 10 and my last time was his funeral when I was 23. I’m 31 now and am so glad I had him in my life. He made me proud to be an American and I’m glad he doesn’t have to see the country nowadays
The flag I have on my Jeep has become tattered from it being attached to a moving vehicle, and it’s time I burn it, but it’s been about 6 years since I’ve had to fold/respectfully dispose of old glory. So I need to revisit this and relearn the folding process.
I am so glad you have this I just moved and there was a flag already at the house but in very rough condition do I wanted to properly dispose of it but I couldn't remember how they taught us in school
Californian here, when I was in elementary school my class had to hoist the flag every morning and every student had to take a turn at hooking it up and then we would pledge allegiance. When it was my turn to hoist the flag I had intentionally hooked it upside down and screamed anarchy. Proudest moment of my childhood.
Just got one to go with the shadow box next to my grandpa's urn, I have experience folding because of Boy Scouts but I'm thankful for the quick refresher
The proper way to fold a Swedish flag: Fold the flag in half lengthwise so that the points of the flag are aligned. Fold the flag in half lengthwise a second time to form a long strip with the red disc facing the ground. Fold the pointed end back onto itself to form a rectangle. Fold a big part of the left corner to the back. For the right sides, fold only a small part of the corner to the back. The right crossbar should be longer than the one on the left side.
So if your on striped end the part in your left hand shouldn't have any openings they should all be in your right hand. Now take you left hand to your right and that's how you make your 1st fold, also in case you didn't know when it's all folded up there shouldn't be any red showing
I remember being the flag boy in middle school, felt very special doing this job every morning and before we got out of class. Not I have a 50ft flag pole in my backyard. Means a lot to me. 🫡
Can you use this method for other counties flags as well, I was trying to see how a German flag should be folded. Like does each countries flag have their own fold?
My flag has been folded like this until 46 is out. Washingtons pine tree naval flag is flying until then. Keep appealing to heaven that this country changes direction quick.
And by the way, you're just cosplaying patriotism. You hate your fellow Americans. Youre filled with hate, otherwise you wouldn't have votes for the one man who wants to rip away our democratic rights and the rights of American women. I hope in 4 more years when we finally see what a horrible job your favorite clown does at running the country, I can come back to this video just to say I told you so. I hope you don't have a daughter, because you've shown how little you care about her future.
Update: My sister helped me, the red and white is not completely covered but it still worked. My flag is an older one so the thicker material might be messing with the folding. Either that or it’s just a skill issue.
Want to fold the flag to present to the church accros the road.the wind blew their flagpole down and the old flag had to be retired.i repaired their flagpole but they haven't replaced their flag.i purchased one from the VFW
I always laugh when people say it should be illegal to burn the flag. Didn’t they ever learn that that’s actually the respectful way to dispose of an unusable flag?
I always laugh when people do not understand the meaning of "intent" and "state of mind". If I touch your wife's tiddy, I might get charged with assault. If her doctor does it, he gets paid. Same act, different intent, different consequences.
Correct. Burning a flag is a proper way to dispose of unusable USA flag. But as others have mentioned, not every flag burning is respectful. To those in doubt I recommend folding the flag and take it to the nearest American Legions club to have them burn the flag respectfully.
For school I have somehow ended up having to be one of the people who takes the flag down and folds it. I don’t want to do it wrong cuz that’s gonna be embarrassing and a crime or something!!!!
You cut out the most important part of the 3rd fold. That is very frustrating. I've never been shown how to fold an American flag, I don't have the slightest clue for any part of the process. So now i have to find another video to see if THEY show the exact process of fold 3. Have a good day, nice try but your vid is a swing and a miss
We used to have to fold the flag when I was in school. It instilled patriotism in me. Glad to see that you took the time to educate people on this.
Thank you. I don’t think I will ever need to fold the flag but if I do I want to make sure I do it the correct and respectful way.
Why is that? get yourself a place then get yourself a flagpole !! That’s what I did
I do it In my JROTC
@@terdferguson1736 I find American flags in the trash sadly so I collect them and fold them then put them away

Thank you with your help I was able to fold my grandfather blanket. He was in the Navy and passed.
Thanks! Was having trouble with the tuck at the end, this got me lined out.
Same here, was a refresher!
Thank you! I wanted to fold mine up but didn’t want to be disrespectful with it.
Same here. Didn't remember the end part so it was a refresher!
Thank you for keeping things brief and detailed.
I’m going to use this to get my AFJROTC American flag ribbon, thank you!

Thank you for this. I have a 3 x 5 to retire. I love our flag dearly and it’s critically important to me to treat it respectfully.
thank you for this

thank you so much. im cleaning up backstage and we had a flag that i didn't want to disrespect.
Great lesson tutorial for my grandson, he now knows how to fold our confederate flag when taking it down for the night. Thank you!
Show this in every classroom in california and New York.
Oregon State too. We’ve lost our touch.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was very useful and informative.
And we’re mighty proud of that ragged old flag ❤🎇🇺🇸
Good video, but the way we were trained in the Army Old Guard, is that the stars should line up parallel to the wide edge.
does this work with swedish flags?
I don’t think so, but you could try it?
The proper way to fold a Swedish flag:
Fold the flag in half lengthwise so that the points of the flag are aligned.
Fold the flag in half lengthwise a second time to form a long strip with the red disc facing the ground.
Fold the pointed end back onto itself to form a rectangle.

Thanks a 1000
Is the first fold from the left or right side?
So if your on striped end the part in your left hand shouldn't have any openings they should all be in your right hand. Now take you left hand to your right and that's how you make your 1st fold, also in case you didn't know when it's all folded up there shouldn't be any red showing
I learned that in Boy Scout. :)
Thanks played this video to fold the flag for evening colors 🇺🇸
My left ear really enjoyed this video
I needed it for the German flag Thank you
if i laid the flag on a chair to fold it, would it be touching the ground?
Lay it out on a bed or dining room table.
I did it on the dining table
Thank you Binging with Babish
Does this also work with other flags
If you want to fold neately sure

When folded for display there should be six stars visible on one side and 4 on the other.
The Navy Base at Everett WA just wads the flag at colours. ZERO RESPECT!!!!!!

Yes but it’s in the way that they burn it for example stomping on it while burning, etc it’s the improper way to dispose of it
