Just had random thought of what a music video for this would look like Beat one:3 Kanye’s stand on a bridge, looking downwards, one has a huge chain and a prideful smile on the right, and the one on the left is dressed in a suit and tie with a more defeated face, the one In the middle is the real Kanye, they all look down, down at the rainstorm and all the people at the bottom until the screen fades to black Beat two the Kanye on the right (the one made to represent ego and lust) leaves a screaming house and slams the doors, his clothes morph to the somber kanye walking to the bridge, when he climbs up, Beat 3: we’re back at the house, kanye appears to be arguing with someone, his legs are in black pants, his middle is a red suit and tie, and his upper body is normally dressed, then when beat 3 ends, we cut back to the bridge, one Kanye (the normal dressed one) is still there, looking down, there is silence, but then, one more time, kanye says “today, I thought about killing you” and the screen zooms out, the prideful and somber Kanye’s are both dead, and the screen fades to black I took like 5 minutes to make this so it’s probably not good, but this song deserves a music video
He's saying that he wants to kill himself but he can't because his loved ones would be sad, so the most loving thing you could do would be to take your loved one out of this world so they don't have to experience that. That's what I get at least
I really want to know what it feels like in studio recording with Ye, bro. Most of his lyrics are like outright controversial. Like this shit is just real, how does the people in the studio reacts to the words that he'd be spitting on the mic. Do they get uncomfortable like when Ye come's out of the booth there's just dead silence or something?
Nah he’s just talking bout killing himself “weigh all options” “they’ll say he died so young” pretty sure it’s conversation between his maniac and depressed self
Kanye, I will always will love you. Your music has possibly saved my like when I have been in deep depression and your music brought me joy. No matter what, I will always love. Thank you
He can drop music about anything and it’ll sound great and be a classic. His music keeps getting better and better. Very few can adapt to the times; Ye is one of them.
Everytime I hear this song, I think of how I felt when I first heard it. It had me in such suspense. I was like, omG what is Ye about to say??? Had me hooked and engaged and nervous and curious immediately. I love too how bold he was to let that spoken word monologue part rock for so long in the beginning. Lastly I marvel at the top notch production work. All the subtle voice changes, the beat switch ups, the flow changes, the background screams that hit the perfect pockets, it's all just so dope. This is so underrated.
this song is so insane, this song is so dark and thats what makes it so good. edit: this song got WAY better, i realised that this song actually takes most of what bipolar is like and puts it into the theme of a song. absolutely legendary.
I almost did something reckless to this song but the idea of really picking apart my motivation and that good and bad come in the same vein really got to me at the last minute. Just wanted to share my appreciation.

tbh I think that the autotuned hums he did in the intro is kind of a way of him saying that besides that he's having really dark thoughts, he always had and still has music in his side, to help him be in a better state. I may be overthinking idk but still
FatPanda54 its sad bro. This album came out 10 days and KIDS SEE GHOST 3 days before i started basic training. I had alot of songs in my head and this song was stuck in my head all the time in basic because the beat switch was so clean. After I graduated basic I listened to this song first. When i heard it after basic i was like i know for a fact this aint what i heard. Im just lucky that the original is up still even after a year of changing it
I think this song is like a manifesto that explains Ye's entire philosophy on life. They say in therapy and many meditation and spiritual practices, to not avoid your darkest thoughts and feelings but to face them head on , because fearing the thoughts and feelings just makes it stronger. So when Ye is advocating for free speech and opening conversation about Jewish people and their trauma , he's not doing it out of hate. Most beautiful thoughts are always beside/inside the darkest, meaning that if you face and accept your dark thoughts you use them to free yourself of trauma. Also the name Kanye means "only one" this album is called Ye and he changed name to Ye which in the Bible "ye" refers to you or everyone. Ye is inside Kanye. It's about the dissolution of ego , and how you and I are not separate subjects , just like in this song , he thinks about killing himself or you , and the line is blurred in which is which. On Jimmy Kimmel , Ye explained "I hate being bipolar, it's awesome " isn't an opposites statement. The good and bad within himself are one , and it's the same for humanity. This album originally was going to be called Love Everyone and on the cover a picture of the doctor who messed up on surgery which resulted in the death of Donda. Ye said he forgives the doctor, and loves him. All Ye is trying to say when he said he sees the good in Hitler and loves him, and Jewish people should forgive him, is that you can't fight hate with hate, you can't hate yourself and can't hate others to be free, no matter how wrong they are are , or how wrong you may feel at your lowest. I put my hand on a stove to see if I still bleed , and nothing hurts anymore I feel kinda free.
A brilliant observation of Ye's view. I never took him for the "crazy antisemetic bi-polar nazi" type that I was being sold. I watched his interviews and listened to his music and what he had to say and I have concluded something similar to what you have concluded.
This song is a piece of art. As someone who is not a fan of Kanye, well... i'm now, i think. As someone who also struggle from depression whole life, i understand having those 'sick', weird thoughts. Never heard sth like that put into a song. Kanye wanted to show everyone what thoughts are going through his mind and people who are also strugling with bi-polar and depression. The album title also suggests. We got these weird thoughts, we cannot control them, they just comes. I think saying it loud really helps to deal with it. I understood that on therapy. He is a very very honest artist. And well, some people don't like honesty. Or they don't understand people. I get him. And respect his bravery to put that for everyone to hear when so many people already hated him.
'Even when why I broke, I ain't break'. I swear music like this gives you a perspective from someone who's made it. And it's inspiring. Whatever you're going through life, just keep going. Keep hustling. Keep on what you want to do. It's going to be alright.
Thank you Ye for normalizing mental health as regular. Bipolar disorder is not easy to control but if you channel it into art or business you are unstoppable!
It’s just spoken word poetry with a beat under it, and it’s my favorite song on the album. I have no way to explain myself on this take, okay? Ghost Town just doesn’t hit the same way for me I guess.
This song is so much more dark ,beautiful, twisted and tortured now in light of him and Kim being where they are. It's a beautiful piece of art and a peek into one of the most influential minds of a generation. However flawed it is.

Holy fuck this is mind-blowing. Even just the instrumental, the way it transforms. And some of the lyrics are just nuts, we’re all born to die, DOA??? Fucking hell this is fantastic
not even that deep
@@noname-vw7fl Who asked you
The ye vinyl I just got has this version of the song!!! I have to assume the same for cd as well, especially if you buy through Barnes and noble like I did!
Fr? Is it an old pressing?
When did u get it
@@shoeIace super late reply, mb, but I got it when I posted the comment, so 8 months ago. I believe there's a good chance though that any copy you see sitting on a store shelf currently is probably also the original version. Can't say the same about online though
Yes the cd has this version too.
This song keeps me from running away while manic and eventually dying so thanks Kanye.
Just had random thought of what a music video for this would look like
Beat one:3 Kanye’s stand on a bridge, looking downwards, one has a huge chain and a prideful smile on the right, and the one on the left is dressed in a suit and tie with a more defeated face, the one In the middle is the real Kanye, they all look down, down at the rainstorm and all the people at the bottom until the screen fades to black
Beat two the Kanye on the right (the one made to represent ego and lust) leaves a screaming house and slams the doors, his clothes morph to the somber kanye walking to the bridge, when he climbs up,
Beat 3: we’re back at the house, kanye appears to be arguing with someone, his legs are in black pants, his middle is a red suit and tie, and his upper body is normally dressed, then when beat 3 ends, we cut back to the bridge, one Kanye (the normal dressed one) is still there, looking down, there is silence, but then, one more time, kanye says “today, I thought about killing you” and the screen zooms out, the prideful and somber Kanye’s are both dead, and the screen fades to black
I took like 5 minutes to make this so it’s probably not good, but this song deserves a music video
He's saying that he wants to kill himself but he can't because his loved ones would be sad, so the most loving thing you could do would be to take your loved one out of this world so they don't have to experience that. That's what I get at least
That’s a deep philosophical thought bro real talk
it’s scary because i’ve had this thought before, frequently actually
Nah man, he bipolar, he talking to himself here.
I'm not gonna lie Ye is very controversial, but his music is the most amazing thing ever
This really hits hard when you're in a manic episode.
i’m glad it’s still here
Kanye, I will always will love you. Your music has possibly saved my like when I have been in deep depression and your music brought me joy. No matter what, I will always love. Thank you
He can drop music about anything and it’ll sound great and be a classic. His music keeps getting better and better. Very few can adapt to the times; Ye is one of them.
Facts. Ye always evolving, and if people don't care for his new material when it drops, they come back later to it and appreciate it more.
This needs to be permanently placed in a file that can’t be touched or erased or destroyed
I have always thought of this entire album as a classic
Me too 🔥
this song is so insane, this song is so dark and thats what makes it so good.
edit: this song got WAY better, i realised that this song actually takes most of what bipolar is like and puts it into the theme of a song. absolutely legendary.
I almost did something reckless to this song but the idea of really picking apart my motivation and that good and bad come in the same vein really got to me at the last minute.
Just wanted to share my appreciation.
Hope you’re doin well bud
@@sajidvegas Thank you, I really am, this whole virus fucked everything in my life up and from maybe May 2020 to the night before my original comment when I almost pulled the trigger, when I wasn't distracting myself with regressive habits like binge eating, gaming, drugs, pornography, I was thinking about suicide almost non-stop. But the fog's starting to clear, and if I was at "I Thought About Killing You" then, I'm definitely at "No Mistakes" right about now. 👍
@@Troy_K hey man, stay strong. We all go through some bad shit in our life, but i promise there is a reason to keep going. Hope you are doing well, my man. Sending love from Bulgaria.
@@Troy_K that’s great to hear
@@Troy_K how you doing
This album literally saved my life, it's so underrated in his catalog 👏👏
tbh I think that the autotuned hums he did in the intro is kind of a way of him saying that besides that he's having really dark thoughts, he always had and still has music in his side, to help him be in a better state. I may be overthinking idk but still
I like how raw this sounds
It really makes the vibes
Kanye'e lawyer right now: 👁️👄👁️
😂😂
W comment
You hush !!! Don’t say anything 🥵
damn that beat drop got sucha eerie vibe to it. Its like listening to the future
Just in case i screen recorded it
Thanks for the suggestion. I’m so sad the old version is gone. The most energetic part of the song falls flat now because of the sample being lost.
LMFAOOO
Luckily I got the vinyl of this version on it
bro just mp3 convert it
FatPanda54 its sad bro. Im just lucky that the original is up still even after a year of changing it
This song hits me.
No artist speaks to what's going on inside my heart like Ye, I don't know if I would be here without him, so thankful for tracks like this
This song is getting into nostalgic territory for me now
Crazy it's been 4 yrs already
@@Still_keem 5 years in a couple months bro
This joint into Eminem’s 97 Bonnie and Clyde is really a thing of beauty
I think this song is like a manifesto that explains Ye's entire philosophy on life.
They say in therapy and many meditation and spiritual practices, to not avoid your darkest thoughts and feelings but to face them head on , because fearing the thoughts and feelings just makes it stronger.
So when Ye is advocating for free speech and opening conversation about Jewish people and their trauma , he's not doing it out of hate.
Most beautiful thoughts are always beside/inside the darkest, meaning that if you face and accept your dark thoughts you use them to free yourself of trauma.
Also the name Kanye means "only one"
this album is called Ye and he changed name to Ye which in the Bible "ye" refers to you or everyone.
I put my hand on a stove to see if I still bleed , and nothing hurts anymore I feel kinda free.
ye just sucks at talking and is sometimes way too self confident. Very unfortunate
W take
A brilliant observation of Ye's view. I never took him for the "crazy antisemetic bi-polar nazi" type that I was being sold. I watched his interviews and listened to his music and what he had to say and I have concluded something similar to what you have concluded.
Not many understand this yet.
I thought I was crazy for hearing two different versions of this song. Gotta love Apple Music. This one is so much better.
YE really do be in the future... I knew this would sound better Today, and it does.
preach
That beat switch is unreal
If you're looking for where the sample was removed, it starts at 3:10
the pitch shift is amazing wow
I have a CD copy of the album with the original mix of this track. Never getting rid of it.
wait so do you have this version of the track?
@@h6kz Yes.
Happy 2 years Ye! You changed the game and opened the conversation on mental health.
I dont care what anyone says this song goes so fucking hard oh my goodness gracious!
Top 3 things
1.kanye
2.kanye little laugh
3.family and friends
the most the darkest
beautiful thoughts
This song is so perfect
personally i think this album is underrated
same
It’s one of his best. Beautiful and vulnerable front to back.
There's people who like Kanye's music, then there's the people he wrote this album for. It's nice to know I'm not the only one walking a tight rope.
I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and I cannot express how much this song & album means to me right now.
took me this long to find out there was a different version of this song...this version sounds so much more sinister after the beat switch.
This song speaks to me on so many levels
now this song has a whole another meaning
man i love this song so much
First song that made me cry on first listen.
WOW! Kanye is my favorite rapper forever. Genius.
Kareem Lofty sample made thi song great, shame it was removed
what song?
I had been listening tons to Fr3sh when this dropped and rly thought I was hallucinating it when I heard it
Quick question, I recently ordered the vinyl album, does it have the original version of this song? Or is it the updated version?
The amount of time it took me to find this 😓 bless you
It’s just spoken word poetry with a beat under it, and it’s my favorite song on the album. I have no way to explain myself on this take, okay? Ghost Town just doesn’t hit the same way for me I guess.
I really didn't know what to think about this album the first time I heard it but man it aged so well
The start beat reminds me of another song I just don't know what!!
The original instrumental was perfect I can’t believe he changed it
new one is wayyyyyy more fire
@@TPShanks put your earphones in bruh fr
1:28 sounds so angelic
The Wisdom of having this in the playlist 🙏🏾 Shout out to Ye for taking down the official Album playlist because they had to change the sample.
Thank God I wasn't the only one that did notice the Change Up In the Beat 🤕
This song is so much more dark ,beautiful, twisted and tortured now in light of him and Kim being where they are. It's a beautiful piece of art and a peek into one of the most influential minds of a generation. However flawed it is.
Thank Ye
okay weirdly enough when i was listening to this on spotify i guess i mentally added in the old synth sample because i didn't realize it was gone, then i listened to this and went back and listened on spotify and it sounded intensely different because i wasn't filling in the blanks
Rip to this song the GOOD music clean up crew is probably otw Rn 😢
Dam, im praying for ye rn
Anyone notice the mix on this track is slightly different on this version (reffering to the last beat on this track) than the offical audio version?
yep, you’re right. this is the original version of the track. they needed to change and remove the original sample because of legal issues.
@@aliataciciek oh really? That's sad. I really liked this version. thanks.
