Ubisoft’s downfall over the years is a textbook example of what happens when a company prioritizes its own vision over the actual desires and feedback of its player base. For the last decade or so, they’ve consistently ignored the voices of the community, choosing instead to chase trends or make decisions they believe players want-often missing the mark entirely. It’s truly disheartening because Ubisoft once had the potential to be the world’s leading gaming company. They had the power, resources, and talent to set the standard for the entire industry. Instead, we’ve seen them lose their way, failing to nurture the legacy of some of their greatest franchises. Classic games that once defined Ubisoft’s identity have either been shelved indefinitely or transformed into something unrecognizable, stripped of what made them special. The over-reliance on live service models, repetitive gameplay loops, and cookie-cutter open-world designs has turned many of their once-beloved series into hollow shells. This isn’t just about nostalgia-it’s about the loss of innovation and heart. The Ubisoft of the past wasn’t afraid to take risks or listen to its fans, but that ethos seems long gone. It’s a sad story, especially for those of us who grew up loving their games. Franchises like Splinter Cell, Assassin’s Creed, and Prince of Persia are either completely lost, diluted beyond recognition, or stuck in limbo. It’s frustrating because so many of us want Ubisoft to succeed. We want them to listen, to bring back the magic, and to rebuild that trust with their audience. Until they change course and genuinely prioritize what players want-not what executives think will maximize short-term profits-they’ll continue to squander their potential and alienate their most loyal fans. It’s not too late for redemption, but they need to act now before they lose everything that made them great. Thanks for the video My Gamer Daddy Friend 😊
Marco Style mentioned this in his D2 review. Ubisoft legit believed the first game was a failure despite the successful sales and demanded Massive to make an immediate sequel.
As someone who discovered The Division franchise in 2020, started playing TD 2 and then bought TD1 it is crazy for me who they did not stayed with TD1, supported and improved the game. Somthimes i run some legendary mission, in the TD1 (Solo). Wish they would add Legendary mode in the Underround, more legendary missions and some expentions. The jump too quickly in the TD2. I dont think they will make the same mistake with TD3. It should not came out in less than a couple of years(2027-28).
Prioritize their own vision? They have literally continue to comprise their vision for this game because of how much this community whines and complains about any and every change. This game has been slammed into the ground and dubmed down so much. They literally went back on seasonal characters because of this community. This community has killed TD2 more than Ubisoft ever has.

No, no it wouldn't. Heartland was a dog water abomination of The Division franchise. They truly need to just default back to a Division 1 Style game. If it ain't broke don't fix it kinda ordeal. I LOVED Division 1, the graphics, playstyle, the environment, theme, all of it. It was perfect.
@@justinclark6331I don’t know how division fans truly think Heartland would’ve succeeded. Did they not watch the trailers? It would’ve flopped badly and further fracture the player base even more.
@@justinclark6331 you guys don’t realize that it would have made them more money better then what is going on right now with them an outdated game noo cross play noo updated graphics ect ect noo wonder there going bankrupt and there planning on releasing a payed dlc… again
Heartlands was dogsh!t garbage. Game was actually Fortnite re-skinned in The Division universe. Complete trash that game was. Game was only appealing to ages 10-13.
Not sure if Ubisoft is ready to evolve. Something tells me their writing a bad narrative that the majority of gamers have not been interested in nor ever will be. We are the last stop. Our voices have been putting things back on the map straight and clear.
Ubisoft should've released Heartland because rhey won't know if it will be a hit or missed because some will think it's a Fortnite clone copy & others will think it's ok/mid. Red Storm rook rhe feedback of heartland that can be a balance of division 1 & division 2 elements of the gameplay.
Heartland should have been a $10 game mode/mission or expansion of Division 2, it's stoopid business to peal your current player base away from one game to another within the same franchise for free.
Its over! If TD3 is happening its not going to be good. Even if AC Shadows (which is delayed again) performs well the future of Ubisoft remains uncertain because of mismanagement at the top and the enormous losses in the last two years. I mean 85% share loss and 494 million loss in 2023, 40% in 2024. Its not looking good for Ubisoft at all. They thought they were untouchable. God bless
Or in the case of D2, most collapsed after 2020 and the leftover players were absorbed by the larger more established clans. On Xbox, there was a clan called LFG Infamous that dominated the xp ranks for a couple of years. By the end of 2021, they literally stopped playing the game. So even dedicated large clans have even left the game.
If they were smart and truly business savvy they would make the Div games like a Red Dead or GTA 4 online and constantly add new parts of the city or game modes or incursions or raids that expands the story narrative, if you have a constant 10, 20 or 30 million players KEEP THEM by constantly adding new content, I would gladly pay $5 to $20 a month or every few months (depending on the size of the content) for a new area to play or a new mode or what ever, I'd buy new apparel or whatever if it were reasonably priced, take for instance the new specialty weapon skins pack, on sale for $31.50 are you frikkin' insane? something like that should be $2 - $3 and that's it. Bottom line stop taking a 100 million dollar risk on an I.P. for 10 million new customers when you already have twice that currently playing one of your games.
They are purposely driving down the stock to get back the shares and sell them to tencent... This is a coordinated effort by the family and tencent in some sick reversed hostile takeover not cultivating survival mode was a huge fumble... Assassin's creed is the final nail in the coffin backing out of the Tokyo game show with a game set in Japan and then they had to gét greedy and add yusuke and not them them people get their own game that we all wanted... Us black folk got our game in origins
If Division 3 comes out and it's based in New York then it's DOA! This series has expand. Waayy too many players have left and they're older. Also STOP bringing people back from the dead.
Ubisoft fumbled when they went back on seasonal characters. Most looter shooter's have regular wipes and TD2 needed to be updated to the wipe model in order to keep up and compete in the looter shooter scene. This game get's painfully boring once you max out your watch and build. No challenge, no gear grind, no real point. Going into each new season on the same OP build is not prolonging this game's life nor keeping players engaged. The need to grind and loot for better gear in order to get through the season's content is what would make the season worth playing through. The community killed off this game more than Ubisoft ever did with their non-stop complaining and wanting the game dumbed down so much. Devs should've stuck with their vision and did what's best for the game. The community killed off wipes and still are not happy with the new 2.0 model. Wipes would've without a doubt brought in far more players than the game has now.
I think they introduced seasonal characters waaayyy too late. People had been grinding post end game systems to make their character strong for over 3-4 years. So that could not fly in any sense.
I agree with the idea of a wipe, but with how the community is seasonal characters wouldn't have worked. What they could have done is add a more powerful version of gear with better stats, but it only drops on high difficulty like legendaries raids and Incursions to make people spend longer farming, male the new gear they add every season way more powerful than everything else so people farm it and farm the best version of it by playing raids Incursions and legendaries. Then once or twice a year give new dlc type content and include a level cap increase. The main issue is people don't wanna get rid of there character to start over, then the way to fix it is level cap increases and better gear to farm for
@@DaGamerDad Better late than never. At this point in the game most players have every piece of gear and weapon the game has to offer. Gear has very to little no value because players have so much of it. If players stopped treating their gear like life long achievements, this game would be in a far better state and the devs would be able to introduce new ideas/modes and mechanics. Devs need to look at the larger picture and realize regular wipes is the most successful model in the looter shooter space and seasonal characters would bring in far more players than it would lose. Which would put this game in a much better standing and reduce the risk of the game actually getting shutdown. Devs need to expand the player base beyond the same ~2k if they want to keep the game in existence. An outdated model is not going to spark growth in this game. Better to have the game updated to remain relevant instead of shutting down because players complained about grinding gear in a game that is literally a looter shooter.
@@gnarlyraccoon32So if the DLC comes with a story level increase to 50, are people going to throw a fit like they did with seasonal wipes because they need level 50 gear and not level 40?? If the DLC doesn't come with a level increase, most of us will just plow through the missions and be done in a day or two and we are literally back to where we are now. This community needs to stop being so attached to their gear and stop treating it like life long achievements. The inability for this community to be open to new ideas and change is holding back the full potential of this game to grow.
Massive should’ve kept expanding D1 instead of making D2. Game has so much potential. I really wanted to explore Central Park and surrounding districts of Manhattan. Now, we get to go back to Brooklyn in the sequel where it doesn’t make any sense. On top of that, a Brooklyn dlc that lacks the same atmosphere and detail as D1.
LOL, they only hire DEI dev's who haven't made a game before. Div 3 is already a failed game. The only hope for div 3 to be successful is if UBISOFT sells its IP.
