- Hey Horse Lovers! Join Kyle & I while we browse the Mt Pleasant Horse Sale up in Michigan! This is a specialty sale with over 400 horses! Many of them are gorgeous, high quality, well-trained draft crosses but there are also a variety of other horse breeds at this sale too. In this video I will show you all of the horses we see at the auction and talk about what we find and like. I will also give tips, tricks, and advice regarding what we look for in horses at sales and how I go about deciding which horses I am interested in bidding on. There are so many different variables and things to look for when it comes down to purchasing auction horses. It makes it more difficult when there are many beautiful, kind horses at this sale. BUT the BIG question is, DID WE BUY ANOTHER AUCTION HORSE? WATCH TO FIND OUT! IF YOU ENJOY MY CONTENT SUBSCRIBE!

Good Morning FSE!
Cant wait !❤🎉 💄 🐎 ⭐️
That was Wonderful, overflowing with such variety! A lovely auction to start the warm season.🌞
Mmmmeeeeee
Anytime!! Thank you
I loved the variety they had!❤️
That 4 day old foal cavorting around its dam stole my heart!
Who else daydreams about going to one of these auctions with a blank check?
Me ;-;
ME
ME
Me
Me! I would have bought that black and white horse, the first one that sold.
The Gypsy looks kinda like a mini Lumi🤣 I like Gus!!! The 23 year old!... she's SO sweet! Wow! So many beautiful horses.
Wasn't that like looking at Lumi!?! 😗 2nd look same but agreed like a mini
I thought that too
I was thinking the same!
Shae, I love your interaction with the horses you meet and how you are totally honest about the condition of each horse. But mostly, I love how you always remember the commitment to the horses you already have and the outcome you want for them! You do not buy another horse just to have another horse! Thank you!
Shea you’re such a responsible and honest person for the safety of you and you’re animals just wanted to say thank you for being awesome
Thank you!
I really liked that black, six year old quarter horse mare. Thanks Shae and Kyle for taking us along to the auction.
I liked her too...🐎
I'd love you to find a Palomino, thx for sharing your love of horses with us, Lady Shae. The mini foal was adorable!
or a sorrel!!!
I love that I found your account you are so close to where I live!! I am going to look into lessons in the near future, I love horses so much.
I can't imagine loading up a new pony mama with her 4 day old baby and hauling to auction.
I know I do agree.
You aren’t Amish.
@@katie195 you are right... Not Amish. I treat my animals better than that.
@@dawnbutler9649 I agree it's heartbreaking 💔 to see so many auctions. We don't see that where I am from. South Africa. Why are there so many horses that need homes
@@tanyaoellermann I think a lot come from horse breeders hoping to make a buck.... Like puppy mills. I understand surrender horses, but people that just breed em to sell or won't take care of horses that get injured or sick.
Can’t wait to ‘go with you’all’ to the next auction! Between these trips, and your trail rides, I can enjoy horses again, albeit vicariously through the ‘lens’… I used to ‘fix’ horses, sometimes completely take them back to ground work. Had seven at one time, mine and my husband’s horses plus five we had a few years as we handled everyone of them every day, all levels of work. AND we both had full time day jobs!
I remember LOVING IT, but cautioning friends who were toying with the idea of buying property so they could have their (boarded) horse at home:
Horses are 90% work, sweat and dirt, stepped on toes and piss-and-vinegar-attitudes, for the 10% you actually get to ride them, arena, show or trail.
And when the electric waterers shut down when a subzero winter freeze hits, it means lugging 10 gallon buckets of water from your inside tap - one per horse, 4 times a day or more, until the troughs thaw or the electric is fixed… oh my…
Sorry, 63 now and reminiscing lovingly of all the work! A car accident over 20 years ago and resulting spinal injury. I haven’t ridden since before that. You are my favorite channel because you share so much of your own POV on trails, groundwork, grooming… 😊❤️
Gus stole my heart, such a lovely horse and those adorable ears....
Shae, thank you for taking us on these journeys to the auctions and sharing your thought process. You're so thoughtful about your choices! I, too, would love to rescue every horse but if we aren't responsible with our choices everything we care for could suffer. I respect the way you navigate horsemanship so much.
so true, and not only 'responsible' but extremely knowledgeable.
A lot of beautiful horses, but nothing that grabbed you and I've been with you enough at auctions to know that you don't just buy anything. But I'm certainly not worried because when the right horse for you and your program comes along, that's the one you'll purchase. Love going with you to all these auctions, it's so much fun. The right one will definitely come along, it always does. I mean just look at Belle, she came in last minute and you instantly fell in love with her, and huge bonus because you also got Ezzy. Thanks again for taking us along. Maybe the next one will be "THE ONE" for you Shae. Love and God Bless 💜 ✝️ Jennifer in AZ.
Thank you 😊
That 4 day old foal was so adorable! ❤❤❤ Love watching all the zoomies around mom!! 🥰
I didn't know horse shopping was a thing until I found this channel. My life is complete now! 😍😍😍
Love shopping? Love horses? What a combo
Kyle is the Gary Cooper star of your videos. He’s that quiet hero in the background that is always there to care & support! Definitely star material! Go on & give Kyle the free choice to pick ANY horse he might like for trail rides (unless obviously sick or injured).
My thought is that Kyle would defer to Shae’s expertise and experience with horses, rather than going it alone with his own opinion.
Omg, i just found your channel and started watching video after video while i'm sick at home. I decide to follow you because i'm so impressed that you manage to be kind and loving meanwhile also making realistic and logic decision all the time. As soon as i clicked the follow button this new video came online 😍😍
I can't resist and watch it imediately. ❤(Sorry if there are any mistakes, english isn't my native language 😂)
No need to be overly concerned about any possible language mistakes, there are many people who have English as their primary language and make plenty of mistakes! 😃
@@ronsamborski6230 thanks ☺️😁 this community seems to be very nice but there are also not so nice people. Therefore I always write that warning to try to avoid getting angry responses. 😅🙈
You do so much amazing work for the horses and the kids. You shouldn't have to justify yourself. Thank you for bringing us along 🙂
Hey Shea (sp?) & Kyle! I have been learning so much because of your channel. My Uncle boarded horses along time ago and took such good care of them. He had a beautiful white Arabian named "GHOST". I loved helping water and clean stalls. I always wanted to groom them but was happy with doing daily barn maintenance. Anyway, I appreciate you going to sales and sharing what you're looking for. And what you find good in confirmation, also.❤
I love appaloosa's too. My horse, I Spy, was the High Point Performance horse at the 1974 National Appaloosa Horse Show in Oklahoma City. He was a 16.2 hand, liver chestnut roan and was the sweetest horse.
That mini foal was hilarious and so adorable!!
The zoomies.. totally adorable
Some Farms do a wonderful job of rescuing Horses. I respect that you keep a clear head about what your needs, the Horses' needs, and your Students' needs are. I love how you stay on purpose and that you always think about how to be as sincere, generous, and kind to them.
Her auction videos are so much fun I love seeing all the horses.
I love watching you go to these great auctions because I love to watch the interactions that you have with all the horses and how gentle you are with all of them. You are an amazing woman to do what you do. 💕🐎
Another great auction of some cute n gorgeous horses. The new baby was the cutest. ❤
Thank you for sharing! I love looking at all the different kinds of horses 🐎 ❤
Be still my heart - so many gorgeous horses and ponies. Thank you for sharing your day with us, Shae and Kyle, and best of luck finding the next lucky equine.
I doubt I'll ever buy a horse, but I've learned so much from you! 🐎
The 4 Day Old Minature is so full of LIFE! Barely born and already zooming bucking prancing Look At Me sparkle personality🤗HUGS
Yeahhhh, auction video. Thank you again for showing the draft horses. I just love them. Boy would I love to go to one of these auctions....
It’s really fun to go with you & Kyle to the auctions. I am learning a lot from you guys. Seeing some beautiful horses.
The very first palomino you looked at reminded me of the plastic model palomino that came with the western saddle - narrow front end and all! I think it was one of Breyer's first models. Loved the mini colt antics in the arena! I liked the last horse shown in the arena best - the big black with the great lope. He was very heavy though - very big feet! I really love your auction videos - looking forward to the next one.
You are a true horse woman.
Stay n' b blessed.❤
Love it when you go to auctions...these are among my favorite videos.
I could not have walked away from the Appy/draft cross ❤
I saw pictures today of Lady Louise driving a carriage with Fell Ponies. I instantly thought of Mushu! Love your commentary at the auctions - so educational.
I love your auction videos, period, full stop. Although it's sad to see some of these horses, I learn so much from your explanations of what you're seeing at the time. Looking forward to the next one!
I must say the quality of your videos are second to none Shae. When you record your experience at the auctions I feel I am there almost and it definitely enhances the viewing pleasure.
Thank you so much!
It's so nice to see gaited horses moving naturally. ❤
These horses are quite gorgeous actually. Best sale, better choices. All so amazing.
Sweet and spunky 4 day old pony foal❤
He's got zoomies! 😄
There were a lot of nice horses and ponies at that sale! Fun way to spend a day! ❤
As usual, Shae, you imparted a lot of useful, considerate information and observations of many horses at this auction. There were some really fine looking horses and perhaps a few suitable horses that could fulfill you objectives for your riding and equine programs and mission. However, the fact that you were a reluctant on some horses you really thought hard about purchasing, says a lot about your final no go. Your instincts, apprehension and eye gave you the final necessary answer. There will be other opportunities.
Btw, I would like to say you are currently caring for a long term “rescue” horse right now; “Belle”! You had no idea when you purchased her at an auction 14 months ago, that she would give you an amazing gift - Esmeralda; and also, you inherited Belle with a serious progressive, neurological disease - “Equine Shivers” - a heartbreaking prognosis and handicap. So, currently you are promising to care for her for the rest of her short or long life; as long as she can be comfortable with good, fit quality of life, and that means you have a rescue horse, not initially intended at purchase, but now Belle is filling that role. So, the naysayers, the complainers can be assured, you are caring for a rescue horse; in my opinion!!!
Thx, as always, Shae and Kyle for bringing us committed followers/subscribers along to an auction adventure, where you both share so much knowledge and insight at these events!
☮️💟🙏👍🥰 💗🐎🐴💗
I love how Kyle always looks like a kid who has been dragged somewhere he didn’t want to go whenever you go to an auction
Kyle is her hubby that's his job!! He likes horses too.
That little baby mini was such a flipping firecracker 😂❤️😅
Thanks for taking us along.❤❤❤
I had a Leo related quarter horse growing up! He was so sweet and kind!! I am 65 and disabled but I miss horses!!
Wow the Appy/Percherons will be so cool. I hope you find one someday!
You two go to pretty good auctions. So glad you have such a good eye, Shae, for choosing the right horse
Appaloosas were gorgeous! Loved the young male! The little three day old paint pony was precious!❤️😀🐗🐎
That was wild, so much variety! That four day old foal was so amazing to watch. Thanks for sharing what you look for and see as usual. I wish that bigger person wouldn’t ride that small pony but I know I can’t do anything about it!
Well thank you for taking us along with you shae. I love how you take your time, & realy look over horses. I know there will be a good one come around when the time is right.
Wow there were quite some beautiful horses! These two Appaloosa Draft mixes looked so beautiful 😍 I can totally see your reasoning. And it’s definitely not a great idea to buy a horse at the auction that already isn’t sound. It’s always so nice when the auction has good quality horses!
I’m 14 and I work with a vet! And I love to watch your videos and I like to point out what is wrong with some of the horses thank you for spreading awareness to everyone about conformation and swelling and all the things you need to look at, at auctions! Your videos are so fun to watch! ❤️
Thanks Shae for sharing your
LOVE of Horses💗🦄💗

If ever a horse made me wish to be born again not crippled it is this one🥰 Lifetime blessings with 1 owner wished for it.
Just love going to the auctions with you and Kyle. Such beautiful animals.❤
I love the mini mama and babe
❤
Also Kyle is so sweet with the horses and a gentleman 🍃
Yay! my favorite videos are Shae and Kyle at an auction! i learn alot while watching you guys interact, talk about horses and ponies and get to see lots of horse stuff going on!
Oh, we’re off to another auction! Yay!
I can watch your videos over and over again without getting bored! Truly so soothing, thanks for sharing the fun!
That mini pony foal was so cute it was so sassy and beautiful❤
I love all your videos, I miss having horses but at73 with health issues it is impossible so I love watching you and your beautiful horses. Hi Kyle I love your calmness and all that you do for Shea and the horses.
Thank you for takingus along to the auction. Your commentary regarding what you see and detect with each horse is insightful.
The haflinger mare with the foal at 3:50 was my favourite💕. And I liked the buckskin gypsy vanner a lot, too
This is the earliest I've ever been to a video! I love your mission and your horses. :)
Only a few viewers commented on the very Large man riding a very small pony! What’s wrong with people? Why are you ok with this? Wrong! He’s weighs more than the 20% rule!
This! Ive been looking everywhere for someone to point that out. That poor pony that was riding next to / in the same arena as buster was way to small for that man! Instead of putting kids on drafts put them on the ponys for the ponys sake! People turn a blind eye to people over the 20% rule on small ponys but that counts as abuse aswell
I don't think she supports it either but she can't do anything about it really
I agree I saw that. Unbelievable 😢
while i agree it’s definitely over the 20%, there was nothing she could have done. cause a scene and get thrown out? the adult was also riding the pony just for sales most likely, she knew it would go to someone smaller
I know so sad
I'm always impressed at the way you go about auctions. Without fail, your knowledge leads you before your heart. You don't let color or attractiveness distract you from the things no one else notices. You will end up with a gem, because you are patient and don't buy to just buy. Just look at Beauty-what a treasure she is. I always learn from you Shae! Oh, and I love Belle's blush! It's so pretty!
Oh my, out of all the videos I've watched, this auction seems to have the most beautiful horses 😍 They are all stunning!
Honestly, sometimes it's just nice watching the auctions! Thank you for the wonderful content FSE! ♥
I loved the very first horse and the gray blanket youngster. Thanks for taking us along. I know you'll buy when you fine the right one for you.
Thank you for taking us with you and Kyle. A lot of awesome horses there. But I do respect your decisions. You have great eye for horses. Loved it Shae, thank you. If I would ever be interested getting a horse I would love you to be my guide. But knowing I am not getting one I look forward to your knowledge.
I love when you take us to horse auctions and explain things. Always so interesting and entertaining. Thank you
❤❤thanks for taking us to a quality horse auction❤❤ I love hearing what you are thinking!!
That foal made this video, Shae!! I could hear both you and Kyle giggling in the background!! And you will find the right horse when the time is right. Look at how many auctions you went to before you found Beauty? One is out there, at some point, you will find the right fit and you'll know when it's the right one. You always do!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
The one you saw for Kyle I thought looked beautiful 😍
That was an awesome auction. Always fun to see all the horses and your observations. Learning alot from your videos 🦄 I loved that baby mini colt doing zoomies 🧚♂️ cuteness overload
Im only a few mins into the vid and I'm repeating a mantra to my phone, "Get the Gypsy purebred, Mini Lumi". I think Im Lumi obsessed! Just ignore me. You always choose the right one when you do buy. Its a gift you seem to have.
These auctions are sad to me, Im old school, n I can't relate to selling my Loves like this. Just Sad to me. However Im glad you Will Love n Care for these Wonderful Angel's ❤❤❤ Blessings and Peace To You All
Exactly how I feel 😢
My eyes got stuck on that dark dark bay/black with the touches of FLAXEN tail and braided mane, being ridden in the first 10 minutes (6:19 - on the far left!) of your visit… oh, I wanted to grab your arm and say look, look! Isn’t he a beauty? 😊❤️
That horse was so big! Like GIANT.
What draft do you think he might’ve been crossed with?
I love that you look over the horses and don’t just by anything. You stick to what your looking for. There were some nice horses there but you know what you want and need and you stick with it. You found Beauty so I’m sure you’ll find the right one again. By the way I think Beauty is amazing!!! ❤️🐴😊
That silver black horse was stunning, also the cute bay sitting down near the beginning
I just love going with you two to auctions. I love hearing your opinions on each horse.
That black with silver tail when you were watching the one that was off on the back is so so beautiful. It seemed like a good auction! You and the Clever cowgirl are so complementary to each other since she goes for the rescue/loose horse kind!
Another good video!
Your auction videos are some of my favorite. Thank you for taking the time to makes these videos. 🩷
Black QH mare being ridden in the ring looked great, but there are other auctions. Thank you both for another auction trip.
That was one that caught my eye, too… Big and beautiful, with just a hint of flaxen tail and (maybe? It was braided up) mane. I’ll bet he dapples up in the summer!
@@jipsigal My first horse was AQH mare, stocky type, sorrel bought 1970.
I love watching these videos, I've never been to a horse auction or whatever it's called. But living near the fair has a few advantages, such as being able to walk around while he's be setting up for free.
And my mom would walk us to the barns they had, 2-3 were full of horses so we got to walk around looking at all the horses. We obviously didn't touch any of the horses, just looked and we watched some of the horses in the jumping arena.
I've actually got to see someone riding a donkey doing the jumps, it was incredible and despite being stubborn still did the jumps without much fuss. It's really fun to see.
These videos bring back these memories.
Both of the babies stole my heart
That tiny little foal is too sweet!
First - Kyle is a gem! In reference to rescuing: There may come a time when you can take on a rescue and we'll all be here for it, even if it's way out there in the future. Even at the kill-buyer auctions, there are horses that, with nutrition, dental, farrier care, and some love, will turn out to be sound, gentle, and amazingly worth it. I'm laughing out loud at the 4-day-old pony running and bucking around the auction ring while I'm writing this. 😆lol 🐴❤
Excited for this video! Been waiting for another auction video!!
I'm so obsessed with seeing all the auction horses. I just LOVE seeing all the different colors they come in, and I super love seeing them all with Shae's commentary because then I feel like I'm learning a lil bit too. I just love all of it 🥰 thank you so much for sharing with us!!!
@FreeSpiiritEquestriann scam...
Homestead Horsemanship has a great quarter horse that would be great for your program.
Thankyou for taking me on your day out I love seeing all the beautiful horses ❤
So fun to see the auction excitement!
Thank you for the education on the soundness issues you spot!
Cant wait to see what you find this time! ❤Edit:JUST RELEASED I WAS THE FIRST ONE ☝️ WOOO
Love from new York 💋 🐎 💄 💫
That fiery colt was so Cute❣️. He didn’t mind being in the middle of everything 😄
The colt looks like a floating feather, nice and rounded, smooth ride. You are so smart at choosing, training, and coditioning. All around horse women !! Thank you both for having these videos.🐎75 off-grid northern California 🥴
