I still think offering consulting services to people like me who just really need help on creating good rooms with good amp/speaker matches would be a win.
I rarely sit still for 3 hours for a movie and here I am at the end of a live stream. Either you guys are that good or I’m taking naps I don’t remember. Excellent work!
Hi Kristi and Andrew, I applaud you on your morals about how to run your own company. Not enough companies in this country are doing the right thing for people rather than for the cash. Great job again. Best of luck.
You know, I truly appreciate how you two are brave enough to sometimes go into more personal topics during these live chats. You don't really see that at all on other home audio related channels. It just makes everything seem... _more real_ ...because, well, it is! On a somewhat related note, I sure wish I could talk to my wife about the exciting world of amps and subs and TVs and laserdiscs. I mean, I love her like crazy, but a former A.V. club geek she ain't!
Great conversational format results in another nice listening experience. Don't be too afraid to ocasionally dip into the politics of the audio business. After all, politics is mainly the pursuit of money and this business runs on money.
Sorry I missed the back half guys. Just finished watching and it was a great show. Thank you to you both for everything and the help you’ve given me in my journey with this hobby the last couple years. Looking forward to your upcoming videos and watching the channel grow ❤
Great live chat. But one correction that Andrew claimed. ports and passive radiators are not the same. Passive radiators have back pressure at full extension that will restrict the main driver from overextending and jeans reduce distortion. There are other differences as well but that’s a main one that not many talk about.
Hi Kristi and Andrew. As a Brit living in Spain, it was your review of the MA 100 Silver which tipped the balance, and I've not regretted that decision - especially when coupled to the KEF KC62 in my small, acoustically hideous room. I love what you both do and I wish you all the best for 2025!
Always look forward to Fridays and your live stream. Great information and you have made my budget bookshelf speaker decision for me- Elac DB63’s. Thanks as always
LOVE the phantom center. When done right, the giant front sound stage sound feels more cinematic than having the audio coming out of a lone speaker above or below the TV.
The perfect speaker to me, doens't need subwoofer, has high sensitivity , and gives a perfect imaging no matter where in the room you're sitting. Also doesn't cost an arm and a leg, affordable by anyone with a job that likes music.
I understand what you were saying Definitive Technology tweeter. I had bridged my nr696 Onkyo receiver to the DM40. Now they are alive. I had to turn down the treble finally. After a decent break in period as well. The tweeter had come alive.
Watching now and the question came up about hugging speakers. I just got the wharfedale elysian 3 in walnut. Haven’t hugged them yet, but I definitely pet them lightly whenever I walk by 😂 they are so purty! Which sucks because the gloss keeps all fingerprints!
Not saying that other reviewers are bad, but I now find myself watching others less and you guys more and more, there's not many channels where I can watch 3 hours of chat like I can your channel, so glad I found you and subbed to your channel, keep up the fantastic and honest work that you do!
Yamaha rn1000a Klipsch rp8000fii new system, last 1 was 1996 so I’m lost, the speakers sound a bit tinny no punch, mids and hi’s okish, before I purchase a sub I’ve run ypoh messed with the app it’s coming around but no where near where I think it could be btw I live in a condo with 11 other somewhat hearty neighbors so noise in the evening is a consideration, that’s was one of my considerations when buying the Yamaha good sound at low volume so I’m a bit disappointed so far. Thanks to both of you!
I hope there are reviews carried out by multiple people on JTR products. I think the problem is these speakers are bow being pushed hard by someone quite prominent on RUclips within the home theatre industry. These are really expensive speakers and i dont think people can be objective when they've become involved with a company affiliated to JTR products.
Low level listening: Klipsch La Scalas. In the 45 years I’ve owned (and updated) a pair, they’ve been in many settings. The one that surprised me the most was my home office. This was a 10x12 affair with the speakers on either side of my desk, towed inward a bit. In near field listening at my desk, the phantom center was amazing. Farther back, but still low volume, the evenness of the response was just killer.
I always see the replays after they are live. Question with the backgrounds that you and Kristi have do either of you do any recreational photography. If so what do you like to shoot ?
Would love to see a review of Axiom M5HP Bookshelf Speakers. Can't find anything except from company itself, but specs, looks and price make them look like a great deal. They provide a 30 day return policy as well. Would love to know what you think.
Hiya guys, love you both! I’m new to the hifi/home theater space but I currently have a Sonos arc, sub, and Era 300s as surrounds. I have a fairly large living room that’s open to the left and back and has a sloped ceiling. This makes the sonos sound feels kind of small - is the change to a dedicated 5.1.4 with something like the Kef Q series going to make a noticeable difference? My understanding is that Sonos’s room correction isn’t terribly spectacular, so more advanced room correction like Dirac might be what the doctor ordered?
Hi guys, I did a super chat yesterday on live feed I was meant to put a question to it pressed forward before I put question inbox. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me I’ve got an 8015 marantz AV and I was wondering if it was worth upgrading yet with what out there now or do you think the sound quality is good enough to keep up with the best of it for the price range? Thanks very much Marcus.
Great show to the Robinsons. Just found you on YT a few months ago. Great and thoughtful suggestions. However it seems all those who wrote in are well versed in the sound arena. Now as far as i am concecerned; as a relative novice who is in his late 60s, I am asking what R/V , 5.1 speaker w/phonograph system can you recommend for around 3K /3.5K. I'd like tower and center and bass. Thanks a million and have a super weekend!
Andrew, hearing you say that you really liked the B&W D4 and that you should have bought them - no need to live with regret, why not buy them now? Better yet, give them to Kristi for her birthday?😊
Hello and greetings from Munich. Do you have any options on Canton Smart Amp 5.1 V2 and Canton Karat Gs Standbox Canton Karat GS ? I am using in home Cinema and music.

And you are very intelligent, articulate, experienced, knowledgeable and competent. I feel that’s the real reason you are successful.

In flight but going to watch damn it. Appreciate you both. Hate I keep missing these when live.

What speaker do you have in the background?
Andrew, hearing you say that you really liked the B&W D4 and that you should have bought them - no need to live with regret, why not buy them now? Better yet, give them to Kristi for her birthday?😊
Love my 802d4’s. Bought them without even hearing them, because I love the walnut finish!

Will you please review the new Denon avr-x1800h. Thanks!

Was the live chat comment section spicy during the sb18 vs rs1 question? Lol 😅😅
❤
Kia was pumping out Telluride like crazy up to closing for shut diwn - i wirked the last shift. Got to take advantage of the situation.
Maybe B&Ws were out of phase. I went to a store and was trying to listen to some R3s and they were out of phase - very possible.
謝謝越來越帥的您!
