"Spectral Shimmers" is definitely a title James Horner would come up with. He used some interesting words in his soundtrack titles, like "A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics" and "The Bioluminescence of the Night"
Ah Horner was so good. I wish I could have met him. Someday I'd love to write a biography about him.

After listening to A Forest Passage from 2000,
    My wish finally came true!
Finally we get to listen to Spectral Shimmers
written all the way back in 1978!
And did you know that James Horner had worked
HARD on this 1978 avant-garde composition,
which had been played once and only once
    by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra,
on January 25, 1979, in a room half full?
This is actually that piece that pushed him to
abandon the university community and caused
a decisive turn for the young artist's career!
But now, we get to experience the abandoned
concert work in ALL of its original glory!

Very glad to finally hear this piece. It's very James Horner with "shimmers" of the different sounds & textures that eventually coalesced to form his familiar style. Thank you for posting
