I never thought I'm gonna buy this set. It was just unimpressive. After stumbling on your video I ended up buying two! Thank you for amazing pirate ship! The instructions in the video are very clear and it was easy and enjoyable to follow through after sorting bricks by color. Keep up the great work!
Really amazing build! I bought two used sets to have one of my own :) Tip: If you use the golden 2x2 jumper plate to build the mermaid instead of the two 1x2 dark bluish grey jumper plates, you can keep the two sharks from the original sets. If you build the skull upgrade at the back, you can use different white pieces for the teeth and still keep the sharks alive!
This look really more than 100 % better than the original set. Just I would also somehow mix the parts of the 3 minifigures from the second box to get at least 2 more crewmembers.
@@TonyMontanaDS 14 ships in 30+ years. That sounds like much but how many you can still buy for reasonable price? Besides, We haven't had any Pirate theme in five years.
An excellent upgrade, if I do say so myself. It certainly is a step-up from "The Red Wind" modified Creator Pirate Ship by DownUnder Bricks in the expanded aftcastle and the extra detail on the forepeak at the figurehead. And the custom sails, while a wee bit small compared to those on other pirate ship MOCs you've made, are still a nice touch. My one criticism is the stairs leading up to the quarterdeck. The archway under the quarterdeck for the captain's cabin seems to block off the upper part of the staircase, making it impossible for anyone to actually access the quarterdeck unless they climb the gunwale. But that's just me. Solid design overall. I wouldn't mind seeing a Skull's Eye Schooner upgrade MOC with some of the design choices you've opted for here with the gundeck, forecastle and aftercastle and the placement of the masts but with the usual LEGO ship hull pieces.
Gorgeous. Absolutely stunning. Would you do a side by side comparison with your Brick Bounty? I feel they would be very similar but also have interesting differences
It’s ironic I was just staring at the creator pirate ship I own when I found your video I am blown away from start to finish and now I have reawakened the desire to upgrade again thank you
@@PieFaceGuy9000 I am the exact opposite. I don't know paper and cloth sails always felt like cheating and with brick sails it is indisputably Lego. Plus brick sails offer better pose-ability and are generally easier to build and less exclusive (meaning you can use those pieces for other things where as a paper sail can only be used as a sail). I dislike the brick built flags though. They are too bulky.
I just realized the crew of the ship might be the one from 2015, with the kid maybe growing up to the guy with the red stripes (since the clothes are the same in both ships) the official having a similar beard to the official of 2015, but with and older face print, and red bears, using the same face print, but different outfit. Only the cook is missing
Thanks for the instructions, I've made a few modifications. No strings & no sails on mine. I used all the Medium Nougat Flexible Hoses It's almost the good length everywhere. I used them all : 4x4 to reach the platforms on the mast. 4 to connect the masts together and the remaining 2 superposed on the horizontal masts. You can put the hoses though a technic hole. I added only a technic axle of 4
I modded mine by using a grill piece to make a floor. ( floating floor resting on flat plates ). Also used a spare chain to hang the shark by its tail as though the pirates caught it for food.
Lovely Job, i´ll be using this on my Set for Sure as i also got the Display Piece from the Store i work at for a few Bucks. i´ll get some of the other Instructions over the next few Years to add these Beauties to my Maritime Decorations, you just earned a new Sub and a highly interested Modell Store Aprentice to your Fanbase ^^
Bought 3 of these sets and built all variations, tonight I took apart the tavern and skull island and plan to make this tomorrow to put side by side with the ship version. Hmm then I still haven't built Buccaneer Bay...
Awesome shipbuild. 👍I Like this building technique from the creatorship. Wonder what would be possible building. Maybe a ship with more than 16 studs wide..
nice I like it, I would however upgrade the lady on the front with a yellow minifig and the red wig from the hawk girl CMF. I would also get the pirate VIP add on pack to add some flags and other details
Really nice job, especially about sails, and this x2 set is the must élégant I saw. Now, after a 225k views sucess, may be I could purpose here my own and different 31109 modification available on my humble channel ! It's a X1 size, but higher (+1brick) with many interior details, so it's not in opposition with your mod, even could complete yours. I am preparing a new version soon with a better kitchen design (finished) and a divided space in the Captain cabin for the bed (in progress). Anyway congratulation and long life to the lego indépendant designers, and also the official original 31109 designer because as lego creator primitive spirtit, it was a great one.
Took me four hours but I did build it like this. In this build you only use about 3 or 4 pieces from the shark so some modifications actually allow you to have 2 sharks instead of just one. These piece changes can't be seen from the outside so it is worthwhile and at the end of it all you can actually build the sails out of the spare parts still but custom sails look better anyway.
WOAH u r rlly good at makeing lego ships! u have inspired me to do a lotta ships with the few hull pieces i have, BTW could you do HMS speedy or HMS surprise? i know u get requests all the time but i just love those ships. Keep on the great work!
Amazing video. If I’m lucky to get 2, i might try this upgrade. Also you should do a lego build for the Flying Dutchman. Nothing too fancy but at least something to go side by side with LEGO’s black pearl
This is so detailed and cool. I’m going to build a moc with custom tall ships, and I want to make a custom Hull and not use the prefab pieces that LEGO makes. Should I use your design for this ship on my moc or is there another technique that you would recommend? I also really like the technique you used for the hull of the black pearl where you slant the walls inward even though it had lego hull pieces.
Wonderful 2x moc of this set. However i Wonder why you choose to drop the brick-built sails in favor of strings and paper sails. What it too difficult to integrate the brick built sails or did you choose paper sails for aesthetic reasons ?
I would assume the brick build sails got ditched mostly for aesthetic reasons. Every other MOC so far has either original fabric sails or custom ones. It is also possible that part limitation played a part in it too. Besides, in my opinion custom sails work better.
Hello good evening ans thank you very much for your and the instructions. Could you tell me on which material it is better to print the sails please? Thanks Regards
Awesome looking ship. I have 2 of these sets still unbuilt and looking forward to doing something similar.
Definitely would be nice to have a pair of ships sailing into the sunset.
No you don’t

I was waiting for an upgrade to this set! You didn't disappoint!
I think I prefer this to the Barracuda Bay ship, I really like the 3 in 1 style and you made it even better!

Absolutely stunning ,realistic ship !
We need more official Lego pirate ships, seriously...
Dave Tobias we need the whole originale theme back
If you count the new Barracuda and creator sets, Lego has released 14 ships. Is that not enough? How many more do you need?
@@TonyMontanaDS 14 ships in 30+ years. That sounds like much but how many you can still buy for reasonable price? Besides, We haven't had any Pirate theme in five years.
Pirates are stupid, just like trains or knights or cowboys
Styphelus i mean the complete pirate and imperial soldiers theme.. the ships are Nice, but where the fortresses
This set came out on my birthday
Yay! Another amazing MOC!
Hello general
Your MOC just sold two of these sets. Ready to place the order for two now.
because of this MOC i got an extra 31109 too :D
Can you do the sloop, brigantine, and galleon from Sea of Thieves, please?
@Dutch001 4Games you can technically do that. People post their stuff on bricklink for you to order.
All of them? Idk just sloop and brig is fine, galleon would be too overwhelming

Already planned on getting one because of the ship. That's gone up to two now!
Great build
I wish you could do a version with brick-built sails.
IMO I prefer the cloth sails more.

As always quality work from you! Not too bad price-wise too, since the original set is reasonably priced.
I really enjoyed building this ship

I got two of these for Christmas I was on RUclips found this video and started building
Dude I’ve been thinking about this idea for a while. Thank you mucho for posting this vid!!! Much appreciated!!
Thank you
Nice film youre building awesome
Great build. Are you able to share any detail about the string used, it looks amazing.
The lego is my passion. I have building two ships: Imperial Flagship and Black Pearl.
Just like your blue coat frigate you should make a pirate ship version of the Bismarck but without the steel and top turret I would love to see it.
Perfect!!
Oh, I love this! Might have to grab a few of these, if only to see what 3 of these look like together!!!
I really like how you did the quarter deck, will update my mod too.
Would love to see an upgrade to the original Barracuda to look more like the new one.
Finally got 2 x 31109 and with nearly 30% off. Can't wait to build this ship.
I modded mine by using a grill piece to make a floor. ( floating floor resting on flat plates ). Also used a spare chain to hang the shark by its tail as though the pirates caught it for food.
Great!! 👍
no way dude, I don't believe it, how did you do that? wow, that was incredible, wow, just wow, great work, I'm floored =)
Build Galleon from Sea of Thieves!!!!!
Yes!
Absolutely! Please do something from Sea of Thieves!
Yes
That would be a cool idea.
I Agree
imagine how lucky his kids would be
Best Lego channel ever.
Any insider news on a Red Beard Runner upgrade?
I love your Pirate Ship!
So neat! Impressive result.
Awesome build!
I love her, if I can get my hands on a second 31109 for cheap (still cost 110€...) I'll be sure to make mine.
This is amazing!
Truly magnificent!!!! Well done sir!!!
Just bought some sails from you and bought another set, gonna try this myself!
That's really cool. And I wish Lego makes more Pirates sets and maybe Cadtle sets too. Thank for this Video.👌
Another wonderful build.
Awesome.
Excellent work again. I’m glad I stumbled upon this video as I’ve 2 sets coming in real soon. Subscribed and rang the bell.
im probably going to buy ten of these sets just for the possible ship builds
good job!
Amazing 👍. I built the same one too. And this was the biggest lego set I ever made. I am 7 year old boy🙂.
Thank you.
Finally a ship I can build
I think I'll get one to begin with, but I'm seriously considering 2

I really like the song thank you!

cool
Great moc!!!
Next try and build the santisima trinidad. Would look incredible!
Thank you, I will definitely build it.
Great as usual !
Thank you so much.
This is what I needed
it is so beautiful. please make a Flying Dutchman in playscale. please !
I love it, especially since you can follow the steps in the video. I really want to try this with mine. We're the sails made or from another set?
I know this is an old comment but the download link for the sails are in the description

You should do like a float test on water with all ur lego including black pearl. I just want to see if these ships can float on water
it's beautiful
Amazing work!!!
Would have been good to add in some more pieces so can fit cannons on other side too like an actual ship.
Ok this is cool and all, I just want to know if it floats.
You may built it with 2 sets but once I build 4 sets in one, I'll be making the next dreadnought!
Hello good evening ans thank you very much for your and the instructions. Could you tell me on which material it is better to print the sails please? Thanks

HMS victory if you dare to try a triple deck ship of the line
Damn now I have to buy another one
You should build a 2x island to go with it!!
Amazing
Nice Video but can you made a Mc Video from the Flying Dutchman. XD
sry for my English. Im from Germany
Your next ship should be a first rate ship of the line like a man o war
