I love these kinds of vids so much. I'm always so bad at choosing espers and vc's at least when they're not so obvious to a clueless dude like me, that i always end up using them on the wrong units or just using them incorrectly so they always end up niche for me but these at least always help that little bit more so i'm informed about better options and what works well in what situations

Awesome video and series. Really helped put it in perspective. With so many options, I’ve struggled with what espers to resonate after finishing the « core » ones (such as Odin). I’ve definitely been sleeping on a few such as Glacial.
Again loving this series. Waiting for next week's magic or evasion. I think we all fall prey to finding one we like for our core units and then never relooking even though newer espers come out. This helps a lot to see how other people see them as well as a "by the numbers" look into them. Thanks and keep up the great content
It took me forever to understand the value of the stats on espers and so I just started leveling espers on element with matching damage types with my main units. Now my esper line up looks a lot better but this aspect, equipment, and Trust stones are the main areas I'm needing serious buffs to. And even though Titan was literally the first esper I had I never realized how good he could be until just a little while ago lol
malboro is very niche indeed, one of the best esper for tifa with wind atk, strike atk and mag res. Just weird that there is no much others wind strike unit

Super good tier list. Very tough to do with nearly every esper having niche use but I think you captured it well by mentioning the rating for specific units, particularly on element. That being said the only one I think you are off on is Marilith. It’s every bit as good as Brachiosaurus and even better when facing evasion. That amount of accuracy is amazing for any missile unit. I think it’s definitely at least top of B and frankly might be in A tier.

Its interesting how you organize them based off their board but don't really need to compare the total percent of each node path. Fenrir I probably would have put S tier simply due to so many units in this game being slash attack type. Marlith is weird. Pretty sure her evocation is a multi hit slash attack.
I also gotta wonder about lightning kitty's lightning up and missile up vs chocobo's flat dual missile up for my Frederika. i dont know how to calculate that
Chocobo is beautiful. EVERY Missile unit on my account has max choco resonance. Anyone who thinks Chocobo is not an a-tier esper has just never used chocobo. One of the best missile espers around.
My Siren must have resonance with almost all my units... I've never used her for pierce attack though. Just slash res, skill activation and even fire killer, for the Monts. I've even restatted her with water resistance at some point.
MA-X maniple has a second build that should move him up to A tier as a Generic ice Esper with no pierce attack up. 25 ice > 15 pierce, BIS for Barret and great for all of the ice slashers and 142 attack is top tier. There are more ice attackers then pierce attackers and 20 slash res is also generically strong pick even if its not an attack stat.
What went wrong with Aigaion: Thunder Nodes. He was to be an AMAZING generic SPELLBLADE esper, but Gumi decided to target him at... NO ONE, Lightning Spellblade does not exist YET. Also, for future references, consider using the Builder Section of wotv-calc. I know that clicking all the nodes is sexier, but the builder section is easier to show real builds as it consume SP.
@@BIaireau definetly, I used him with Fryevia and Rain for a long time, but sadly his 3* did not keep up, if he got the Fenrir treatment, oh boy, what amazing esper potential.
Maybe one of these days we'll see a UR Esper that focuses on Strike attacks, hell a VC too, 2 years into the game and still has barely any support for one an attack types thats been in since launch.
I have yet to understand why Aigaion isn't a Striking UR esper. In the original FFBE, beating him rendered fist weapons. The esper uses giant mechanical fists. But yet... we get magic and slashing nodes. Huh? Gumi! My Tifa wants a UR Striking Esper!

Siren is best in slot for red mages like miranda and sylma and murmur because of the casting reducing and piercing for chaining resistance break. Considering pve only for me at least and some may consider it sloting it on a dragoon with jumps their only atck.. espers are more use full for their element and type killers and typed atck up. it is direct dmg increase for pve use. Dont underestimate killers, they are more powerfull than mag % or atck %. PvP? dont ask me i dont know or care
@@AuronnjJayy I feel that's why units like Winter Vinera, Rhaldor and Tifa aren't run as their main job or at all. They have good potential but low support.

I agree with you on Chocobo, he's generally my go to range esper, and that heal has saved me arse plenty

Yeah I considered it but it was pretty firmly in my tanking tier list so I kept it there.

As the founder of the Churche of Aileen Auronnj is kinda Bias Elafikeras and the other Espers with Pierce Atk up. XD
Nice list but you should rename it to PVP Esper DPS Tier list since this list does not hold up quite the same on PVE
Two Headed Dragon is so slow because he's got both of those heads creating wind resistance XD
