Great video - I remember hearing that the days of a disker and cultivator were gone - that was 30 years ago in the Prairies of Saskatchewan - great video!
True that, Jeff . At an auction some years ago as discs were being auctioned at warp speed ... I put my hands for 400$ on a perfect ( like new) JD heavy disc tiller ... Never regretted it . Sandy loams in our area make its use fine for Fall clean up and soil prep after harvest .
You probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
@Westin Joshua I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Using a drone for your camera shots was a great idea, it really shows how effortlessly and smooth your John Deere 9620RX & 2623 Disk pull through the soil. - Dave
Greetings, Distant neighbor of yours over at Western edge of Divide County. Suprised to see you doing this tillage pass out here in established no till country. I'm interested to hear what you were trying to achieve with that pass and how this parcel performed this year (2019) given how dry it was so late into the year, at least where we are it was. God Bless
They are filming with a drone. If they did have sound with the video, you would either have to listen to the high pitch drone props or they would have to dub other sound recorded elsewhere that would not match. A great video though!
How do you water this huge land? I didn’t see small canals for water delivery anywhere in video. I am surprised how farming is very different in different countries. I have total of 25acres but compared to this, it’s like owning a peanut size land.
@@elyfarmsnd so just making some basic assumptions and calculations, if you're running 10 hour days at 40 feet per swath, that's an acre every 2 minutes at 6.2 miles per hour, but that's not allowing for fuel stops or maintenance time, so 6.5 to 7mph might be more realistic, especially watching that disk make the dirt fly. Please accept my appreciation and open admiration of your hard work.
Just a musical aloan is what got me to subscribe my God I get tired of that elevator music and all that other crap it's nice to hear good old rock and roll my lots that could be there in Montana Iowa Nebraska South Dakota North Dakota any of them states that does a lot of flat land dry land farming can I remember when the big bud 500 was the top dog to have and I'm pretty sure that tractor would run circles around a big bud nowadays and that looks like a 40-ft disc possibly a 60 That's a big piece of equipment
Here is my question, how long before you come back and plow it again. We disk a new ground of fescue and waited a few days before we went back , we couldn’t go 1/2 mph is was so hard and it was in cut strips 5x5 4ft long. .after that we double cut everything the same day, which actually helped. And it still aired out.
Ely Farms I would love to disc a large field like that. Especially having straight line. Our fields in Mississippi are usually cut up into smaller sizes. Meaning a lot of twisting and turning
John Deeres stopped sounding interesting decades ago. The "put put" engines that made them famous hit a ceiling and they moved away from them in favor of more modern designs.
I sure like the JD track tractors I always ran wheeled one's but if I could get my wheelchair in a tractor with tracks on it I think I would have died and gone to heaven
Why farmers spent 300000 in a combine 200 ,000+ in a tractor 3 millions to pay off 800 acres and complain they NEED to use herbicides and fertilize the ground to the max to barely make a living earning 150 bucks an acre before taxes
I seen a video yesterday on a big red track called the quad track it was huge 26 ton of tractor I watched a video where it flat out pulled my green tractor and the blue tractors I was a believer along time ago I ran red tractors for years I started out on a D 17 Allis Chalmers gasser and a 190 XT Allis Chalmers then I went to work for my neighbors and they ran IH and I drove to main tractors for them from the time I was about 12 and the M farmall and the 1486 was the work horse as far as tillage work until they purchased a Steiger Panther boy I covered some acres on that
Talented camera work and skilled editing makes it an excellent effort, one need only hit the mute button to avoid the incongruous pre-pubescent male 1970s music that pointlessly wastes the soundtrack in the video. (Background music resembles the 40-year-old AC/DC licks for "Highway to Hell".) Ignoring the background music, this is an enjoyable video - thanks!
One machine can do 10 000 mens work and men move to mega cities work at man made jobs for man made money digital numbers paper money and few farmer supply food chain to the mega cities..
Farming is a way of living and you may live like a millionaire if you do it right if not ... well you are just another farm hand living just to survive another dry season good luck you all tank you farmers , not you the smart one.
With tracks? CAT came out with rubber tracks for field use well before anyone. 4 tracks are the logical outcome, and New Holland has the best 4 track design currently. Also, I don't think you're precious tracked tractors are going to age well, eventually they will be 30 years old with worn out carriages and will just sit because it will take over 10g to get going again. Tires will rule the day again. Too much fuel loss and track related maintenance, unpredictable performance and too complicated to be worked on by farmers. I knew a CAT mechanic, he worked on D8s and such, he gave me his tools when he died. You haven't seen tools until you've seen the size needed to rebuild a CAT undercarriage.
C.A. Carlson Cat had four tracks designed a long time, before they even entered the farm market. Case gambled with the idea and it worked out. I don't blame others go riding it. That's just smart.
Thank you for all the hard work you do to feed America.
oh it doesn't end there. we feed the world. most efficient and highest output amongst world farmers. Largely due to our innovations in tech
Wow. It is wonderful to watch. The modern machines are un comparable.

Pretty wet. Not making an ounce of dust. Disking when its wet creates compaction.
Exactly!
Jared how does loosening the soil increase compaction??? Wtf
What an awesome video all the way

I seen a video the other day about big tracker's the tracks on that one but you have got to have something huge to take care of the wheat field's
Fantastic
Well done man.

How much ground you need for such big equipment to pay off?
Nice Country AC/DC
is dat AC/DC ??????????
@@1349hitbanger I'm pretty sure not but the tune has just about every AC/DCism there is.
Great video!
Love to hear john Deere engine sound rather music
Really good video, but I think I would have enjoyed it more without the music. Just the sound of the 9RX is good enough for me.

That looks like about a half acre of disk. How much ground can you cover on a good day? Love operating those tracked machines.
300 acres

Is water sprayed in the field before making a video because the dust does not fly at all
Must be a Kansas wheat field getting the disk work. Looks like some very rich soil.

Awesome video. :) (Im from Czech Republic :)
Let's hear the Deere run and dump that awful music. Like watching this. Like hearing the sound of machines working.
Charlotte Campbell these new ones don’t moan like the old ones

The video I watched yesterday said they were pulling 50 to 100 foot implements I want to see a 100 foot implement
No such thing kinda like Iowa PT it all comes from ni ya know
Go search for 214 foot planter
Notice no dust flying all around 😃

I never liked disc ing, unless I could go back and do it again the next day. Especially on new ground. The clods just break up so much easier.

@M Corral ...that tractor is more like 600,000.
So why did they stop when they did?
Not into music videos, would rather hear the Deere working and the disk cutting.
Dude, this is drone video, no sound can be recorded from it except props noise.
