Crazy fact Elgin Baylor has the second most consecutive games averaging 40ppg with 33 games first places goes to Wilt Chamberlain with 515 games to make the top 5 you need 21 consecutive games averaging 40ppg
@@lukecash3500 3rd is Kobe with 23, 4th is Rick Berry with 22 and 5th is James Harden with 20. Those 515 were Wilt's first 515 games but after his first 7 seasons (543 games) his scoring went down a lot.
Never mind I looked it up. Didn't realize that AI had a whopping 79 streak. Wilt's stats during that streak look disgusting though even for him. The dude averaged barely under 50 ppg actually (49.7), for 271 games without dipping below 40, averaged 25.7 rebounds over that streak, got just under 7,000 rebounds, and shot 54.2% from the field while averaging 20 makes for 37 attempts. That amount of fg% with 37 attempts is ludicrous in the 60s.

The shot clock is 24 seconds based on the average amount of shots taken in a game at the time they implemented the rule. The math basically said "Well they take # shots per game, which is about 1 shot every 24 seconds" and boom, that's how we got such a strange, seemingly random number.
I wanna see Rodmans stats for offensive fouls drawn, if they kept that stat I feel like he would be better appreciated statistically. That and forcing the bad passes that led to steals that Isiah and Dumars and later MJ and Scottie get the stat for. The other stat I would love to see is outlet passes off rebounds that led to fast break points. Because his assists are low but the amount of rebounds into fast breaks off great outlets was another unstatted area he exceled at.
In the 96 playoffs Rodman had more offensive rebounds than the entire opposing team 4 times and was within 1 2 more times. Oh and this was in 3 series, because he only played 19 mpg vs the heat. And the teams he started vs were Ewing Oakley knicks, Shaq Horace Magic and Kemp Sonics all whom were notably good on the offensive glass. Also, in Robinson's sole season and one of Hakeem's season, they managed to averaged at least 4 blocks and 2 steals per game.
