Amalia Uys on her role in M-Net's Summertide

I spoke with the South African actress Amalia Uys, who plays Julia Field in the new family drama series Summertide on M-Net (DStv 101) on Sunday evenings at 6pm.
Julia appears in flashbacks - a character that Amalia says literally took her to new depths. She had to qualify as an open water diver, and she got completely hooked on diving although she describes it as a daunting learning experience.
Amalia says filming on location in beautiful parts of Cape Town and False Bay has been a "gift", saying Summertide is a story all about family, how to fight for the planet, "and it all comes together so gently".
