But in case anyone wants to watch this and ask, here's some more insight: Let's start with this: Radioactive measurements are in *Roentgen* (R), *milliroentgen* (mR), *Radioactive Absorbed Dose* (RAD), *Roentgen Equivalent Man* (REM). Although they're the same in measurement, the difference is that RAD deals with materials, and REM deals with the human body. You can think of R and mR as the "basics" (and also: milli = 1000, so 1 R = 1000 mR) So the main safety objective for radiographers is to provide the public with a way to spot and alert them of the radioactive material. This is where *barricades* come in. These are placed out, starting from the source location, of a certain amount of feet to provide alertness to both the public and the radiographers. For example: - A restriction area is placed at 2mR/h @ 1 foot. Please note: The barricade is NOT placed at exactly one foot away from the source. We use detection equipment to indicate where the 2mR is. The 1 foot is just there for reference (Ex. Companies using the Imperial system VS Companies using the Metric system). I just wanted people to know that as long as you're being *SAFE* with radioactive materials, then there's no need to fear for your health. That's what radiation safety classes are for.
