Not sure how it works in Korea but when you earn money don't you automatically assume the taxes are paid by your employer? No normal person worries about taxes, IRD does them for you.
Stars who have great amounts of money depend on a hired accountant. Sometimes a firm of accountants. Then if the tax boards bring to the media there is a problem with tax payments. Lee Min Ho is an entrepreneur with business. Plus, the others being charged. It is as if the government tax office is trying to destroy the actors popularity. At this point I think the tax offices should be investigated.

I will support them 100 % Korean people and media are too critical of the celebrities. Media is manipulating their stories so public can read them, even the government is the same thing, Tax evasion or whatever they call it can be settled among themselves, they dont need to be expose to the public. if the celebrities file for their tax and it is not correct then call the attention of the said person and discuss it with them. $70K something dollars is nickels and dimes, so it must be an accounting error. If I made $150K USD, I'd pay about 1/3 of that in federal and state taxes. They're making millions for god sakes.
These actors do not have time to figure their taxes, so they depend on accountants to do their job of taking care of the taxes and reporting them on time and accurately. Even though the buck stops with the one in charge, the actor, it is not fair to the actors to judge them so harshly. I think the media needs to keep in mind--innocent until proven guilty. Stop trying to ruin someone's reputation just to report a story. Is there no longer any HONEST reporters???
Those who believe the media instead of the explanation by the actors/actresses should tread likely for their criticism. They never know if and when the same thing could happen to them. Then if your explanation is similar to the ones given, should you be believed. It makes suspicious of the tax agency as the fine amount is the same for all those with tax issues. It’s sad as a small issue as this is blown out of portion because they are celebrities. Maybe a list of those who criticize them and have had tax issues be published.😢
I really do disagree with people that are on drugs to get jail time for it. I believe that they need medical help and treatment. They are sick and they need help. Jail time does not cure the illness.
All the discrepancies with taxes I would say, is a probable lie. Taxes are not usually done by a management company only. Usually they’re overseen by an auditor or an accountant and knowing how hard the Korean people study in their education, I doubt that that many mistakes are made. liar, liar pants on fire.
Hello I feel like if you owes something just pay it. Don't try to cover it up after being found out its hard but, admit to it apologize and pay it. Once you do that don't care what people say about just tell the truth. and Jehovah God will bless you for your honesty. Everyone have lied or done wrong and maybe even hurt someone that when you own up tell the truth. How Jehovah God looks at us and judge us is what count.
