I'm semi retired right now but I love to watch people work!!! ?You need a golf cart so you get around there quicker. Save those hip joint and knees. Old age is coming. that's a helluva motor on that old red truck you cut the cab off of. them old straight 6 cylinders had some killer pulling power.
Even though I do not collect or work on old iron , its nice to know someone is saving some of this stuff . The old trucks your cutting up would make a Timeless advertisement for any business with their Company logo on the cab door or bed .
There's always something pure about the first year of any design. Some unique design detail that's specific to it, like the fuel filler in the bed side of 47 Chevy pickups. Neat to hear the brief rundown of the design changes of the Thunderbird. That's one of Ford's most fascinating product histories in general... began as a competitor to the Corvette, built on a shortened car chassis, then became a unit bodied luxury car, then a personal luxury car, then on the Lincoln Mark IV platform, then a Torino chassis, then a Fox body chassis, then it's own midsize, and finally back full circle to a limited production two seater! Quite the transitions
Salis that was great really liked was just great loved it the old trucks and the parts you saved and sold every day different thanks for sharing and your time was really great can't wait for next one.
Those old Chrysler cars had some mighty mean engines in them. True muscle car days. With real carburetors and 4 on the floor lol. No fuel injectors and computers to cost a fortune to fix. And they still gone decent mileage.
Glad to see the Fury and 3 of the Advanced Series Chev/GMC cabs sold! That Dodge A100 camper is awesome! I love and own a fleet of Forward Control Chev Corvair 95s (And Corvair cars!)!
The weather is really weird. It's still in the 80's in Mesa Az but the state had snow at 7000 feet. Great video as always Silas. Really like what you do with the old trucks. Stay warm.
My car in high school was my family's 66 Fury VIP 4-door hardtop, with a 318. At the time my family called it a Fury III VIP, but I much later found out there were 4 trim levels. I, II, III, and VIP, so the VIP wasn't technically a subset of the III. A car I had in college around 1978 died at the same time that my sister was going to sell the Fury to a junkyard for $40. So I bought it from her for $40 and drove it for another year before its engine blew at around 120K. Not bad for back then when that was considered a lot of miles. The trunk was unbelievably large, even with a full size spare not even sunken down, but sitting on a shelf up toward the back seat, which as a long way from the rear of the car. You could walk on the hood and trunk with no fear of denting them, that is routinely how I washed the roof.
Nancy's guy Frank here, been really enjoying your channel. I love the 40's - 55's old cars, especially the flat heads, 6 or 8 doesn't mater to me (think I saw a 51 Ford in your yard there). I saw a flat head Ford V8 running with one of the heads removed once.. you could see the pistons going up and down, and the other sides 4 pistons doing all the work.... that was WILD!
You don't see many of those birds with the engine. Everybody wanted the 429 for something! Great engine, probably got a great big 9 inch rear end in it.
hello Silas 6 years ago I restored 1958 a160 international dump box that was being used in Alberta Canada for grain we did a complete restoration right down to the frame paid 3000.00 for the truck total restoration price was 50,000 when completed love working on these old iron thanks for sharing
I'm so glad to see the cabs and fury go to a good home. I wish I had those ford tail lights, mine were stolen and I have new NOS FORD lens. The Nash wagon is like my grandmother's, handed down to all us grandkids with 3 on the tree.
I wish i could walk around in your yard, thats my son's and i favorite thing to do. We live in az so junking is good here, we colect mopars 60's trucks mainly. Great video's. Look forward for new ones.
A friend of mine decided to perform an experiment on his old Volvo with a B21 4-cylinder motor. But "just for fun" he did it in a manner very typical for him. The experiment was to see if he could remove the cylinder head primarily using only the lug wrench and the toolkit that came with the car. He said that he managed to do it.
Silas if you had gas, that fury would start like you said. Here is what I am trying to say if you were to add gas to start it, don't take the air filter off, simply loosen the wing nut on top and pour the gas right on top of that wing nut and its a funnel for the gas to the carb, if it backfires for some reason, its covered an doesn't catch whole engine on fire. Thats not to say never as sometimes the choke hangs up or something but then its trying to get gas in the right place so its easier to just pour in carb by using the air filter system as your funnel. So much quicker and no lost wing nut or other stuff. Yes you guys working together sure made a difference. I liked having a winch setting between the frame rails as we used that system for loading an unloading our rigs and just that much better if it has a dump box cause you could raise the bed to get a better angle from the last block that would be at the front of the bed. It would double the power of the winch an we put enormous loads on that way. another thing was we would pull that cable over the top of the load an tighten the winch an that load wasn't going anywhere. then to dump you just hook that line to any tree or something and the winch pulled the load off for you. so like you pull a car up on the bed with the winch and then to unload tied the line to something and it Parbuckles the load off. I hope it warms soon as its almost thirty below here in alaska. went from warm to bitter cold in just hours
That's what I did when we did a small remodel job. I just burn the old wood in the BBQ pit instead of paying dump feels way way to much plus I have to take it 1 hour drive 2 hour's totle. Gas dump fees.
That Dodge camper is rare ! The 68 Fury is in nice shape but looks to have torsion bar problems by sitting so low in front. My mom had the same car and color combo in a 4 door. She paid $400 for it and drove it for a few years mostly trouble free. Fun car.
Guy with the long hair looks like Mr. Goodpliers. Don't know for sure but it looks like his SUV too. Wonder if they know each other? I guess they do know each other.
Morning Silas!! Another great video!! I'm definitely a Ford guy but never had a interest in the "T" birds, I do like the late 1950's T birds, the way the weather is reals havoc on our bodies, I do like the D-30 International..........be safe!! God Bless!!!
Great video today thanks silas your mate you work with is a right good worker non stop. Mind you you are at it non stop your self hope you get a long time off at Christmas with the family
Great video Silas. Hope you didn’t get hit with storms like Kentucky. Wondering when you filmed this if the sudden change and wind was connected to that storm belt that caused so much devastation. Thoughts and prayers to all affected 🙏. Cheers from outback Australia
I knew that I'd spotted Mr. Good Pliers. I was going say something but I didn't want to appear foolish. Are you guys thinking of doing a video together. I think it would be very interesting
Salis iirc you said you felt that temperature drop like fast. I seen the sky light up behind you. If i was a betting man that string of tornadoes that came thru might have changed your weather big time. Love your videos. Look forward weekly for new ones.
Silas, you must wear goggles when you are cutting or grinding. Every time, man. I have vision in only 1 eye I know how precious our sight is. I see somebody epoxied up a frozen/broken block. I bet it still leaked.
@@frankm8533 im down in louisiana my 73 has a stabbed together winch bed but its ugly and heavy its easier to buy a proper dually bed and use the winches off my current bed and build something nicer
@@devinstroud5221 Always. I know that guy in PA has full beds he gets stuff from the west coast in truck loads. My friend has 74 crew cab body dropped for years he just got rid of it this year for a reg cab dually

I'm happy to see the Fury is heading to a new home. Looks quite solid to boot.
Praise for saving all that good stuff!!!

Does anyone else like the sound of the starter when a Fury is cranking during a cold start!
Great Video.
I even liked the Plymouth...
Had a 67 sport. Fury. 383 2 bbl. Bought a 68 with 383 4 bbl and ac. Sat forever. I sold it.
Yet another video I watched 'til the end and realized, I gotta get some stuff done! Great watching this. Motivates.

My uncle had a 70’ I think, Tbird with a 429 in it, it was a pooch, nothing like the Boss. Still it sounded good when the secondary’s kicked in
