Amazing. I raced BMX as a kid 40 years ago, back then the sport was dominated by Americans like Stu Thomsen and Greg Hill and raced on real dirt tracks. Now we see riders from all around the world and it is raced on synthetic tracks. The control these riders have over their machines is incredible, the sport has totally transformed and now is an Olympic sport. I never would have guessed this 40 years ago.
I did too, i used to qualify every year for the British championships, so much has changed since then as you say, i still have a hundred trophies in the attic.
Yes....it is a very cool Sport.i am so Happy ,they find the olympic games.yeaaaaa😆😆😆in the 80ties Another Kids say to me thats a Children bike grrrrrrr.😢...and i was 17 ,with a gt performer. In Germany 😢see my videos this bike is this from 1984.have a nice time for all bmx drivers. 😆😆😆i Love it.
I want to thank Japan and all the fantastic crews. Amazing production quality to showcase the athletes in these Olympics. Best I've seen, bravo! The Matrix style multi-camera pan is a work of art! The love and dedication to every sport I've watched. It has truly touched my heart all the way here down under. Thank you.
6:29 this is when he wins. He absorbs the jump more aggressively than any other rider, allowing him to get his weight back on the ground quicker, allowing a few peddles before the next section; everybody else coasts. From then on out he was perfect and couldn’t be caught. 🇳🇱
The physical output in only 40 seconds is mind blowing. They were still heaving for air at the end of the ceremony. Crying didn't help I guess. 10 years later as an engineer I can truly appreciate how much power the track throws at you to absorb. While you add as much extra as you can... Truly remarkable.
I'm proud that the first BMX Olympic champion ever in 2008 and then champion again in 2012 is Latvian 🇱🇻 Māris Štrombergs 🤗 This year the same happened in 3x3 men's basketball - for ever the first Olympic champions came from Latvia 🇱🇻🎉🎉🎉
makes me emotional to see a hellow Colombian win an Olympic medal in BMX!!! Here in Colombia we enjoy riding bicycles a whole lot and bmx is big but a lot of kids don't join the sport or don't take it serious because they don't have the support or they have to work. Imagine the talent we could have. We do have more track cyclist and MTB cyclist so that's pretty big but not as big as it should be.
If you showed me one of those bikes with zero context I would think it was designed for a child. Amazing that they can fly those little things and keep them stable in the air.
Time for a change! I lived the sport and had so much fun but it’s time. These tracks need to be 3 times as long so that the rider in first through third can have lead changes and it be more about endurance. I also think all races should be in dirt.the race needs to last more than 15 seconds. Some small changes could go a long way
Bicicross andava muito ,Aguaí SP ,esporte fodah kkkkk pra tá AE na olimpíadas essa galera ,teve muito tempo de dedicação , não é dom , é dedicação mesmo e força e fôlego ,tem que vive em cima da bike
Great race. Too bad Connor Fields couldn't compete but his arrogance towards his fans saying that are expecting him to return for Paris 2024 was very rude.

Should still be on dirt and have more skill involved kinda of boring now.
let's take a moment to appreciate the commentator for his breathless commentary

Qui vient ici voir la course de Tokyo après le triplé des Français ? 😂🇫🇷
Une belle revanche 🎉
No importa cuantas veces te caigas, sino cuantas te levantes
These athletes live on their legs. They deserve an elevator to get to the starting gate
It's like their warm up
Better than Motocross racing!
Nah they grew up walking up the back of the hill . It gets you pumping the anticipation. A lift would be too Holywood for them.
That’s what I was thinking
I do bmx and I have to use stairs
Race start at 4:21
Let's make it 4:20
WOW! I don't know much about bmx racing. However, THIS was VERY exciting to watch! Congratulations guys! 😃🙌🏽🚴🏾♂️🥇🥈🥉
6:04 OMG I FEEL SL BAD FOR THE WORKER TRYING TO HUG HIM

He is just directing him to a place. He doesnt want a hug

One lap isn't enough gotta do like 10 laps 💪🚴
After one lap trust me there is no chance lol it's basically a sprint! Hit your local track and try it out it'sso fun!
hm maybe 5 lol
Wonderful race congratulations, thanks for sharing thrilling video 👌👌👌
Amazing Skill...greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾

@4:42 - #8 - Ridiculous! That dude absolutely shreds! (Jumps double, lands in manual)

That launch is serious ❗️
To the Olympics channel, the destruction of all channels was because they over did the drip drip drip.
Let's not forget the freak accident of Kiemma with an official in which he broke his knee. Truly magnificent comback!
Getting to the starting gate is already a challenge for me 😂
I am a road/tt rider and this is fricken bananas.
Kimman getting gold over Whyte was foreshadowing what would happen on the 12th of December in Abu Dhabi

Muy bonito , muchas gracias!

Please upload the mtb xc race. Greatly appreciate it.
If you showed me one of those bikes with zero context I would think it was designed for a child. Amazing that they can fly those little things and keep them stable in the air.
Haahhaahahah no one is talking about how niek kimman pushed one of the people who was trying to give him a hug at 6:04
bro the announcer has no idea what he is talking abt😭
You don't know what your talking about calling the commentator an announcer
Great ride from Niek... but I suspect Whyte would have run him closer if he hadn't overjumped the second set.
I'm here because my wife and I enjoyed the tokyo olympics 2020 game for ps4
Very nice 👍👍👍
The speed, the athleticism, the crane, the plane, the beatles...

Yes! Netherlands!
Is the track standartised? Or is every track, all over the world unique?
Every track is unique
Nevermind the race, I'd have to stop for a smoke break after walking up that ramp.
Gotta respect Kai white
I grew up racing dirt track. Looks very different on synthetic. These guys are fast though wow.
Great job
Great kye whyte
They need to bring in atvmotocross at the next Olympic games!
Looks like a video game!
niek kimmann had a small fracture in his knee after a crash with a stupid official that was walking on the court during training.
Did Cru Jones make the finals? He's just a small town kid...give the boy a chance! Awesome course and riding; nice to see BMX racing alive and well!
This is way better than gymnastics.
YO TANVIEN PRACTICO BMX EN VENEZUELA TENGO 8 AÑOS Y LLEVO 2 AÑOS PRACTICANDO

When did Murray from FLight of the Conchordes get into BMX commentating?
Can I use a 1990 gt dyno to race like this??
I just saw the movie Rad, i dont know how i ended up here. Btw its 1986 where I'm at. Cheers. 🚴♂️
Where’s Maliek Blyndloss??!!!!! (I probably spelled his name wrong..lol). That dude has been an absolute shredder since he was a young kid!
They are so fast
Terbaik ✅✅✅
You can tell by the way they were walking but they were all concerned about Connor Fields.
Brave dudes.
Bicicross andava muito ,Aguaí SP ,esporte fodah kkkkk pra tá AE na olimpíadas essa galera ,teve muito tempo de dedicação , não é dom , é dedicação mesmo e força e fôlego ,tem que vive em cima da bike
This should be considered as olympic event...
Has been, since 2008.
It is an olympic event
Joris Daudet will be back with a vengeance this year I think.
very smooth
Great race.
Too bad Connor Fields couldn't compete but his arrogance towards his fans saying that are expecting him to return for Paris 2024 was very rude.

When did they change it from doing laps? Would rather watch that than this format.
Surprised daudet didn’t win this and Kye Whyte in second jeez
What size bike they ride
20 inch wheels and frame depends on the rider
