I hate myself and went through all the books in the bridgerton series, and let me tell you: it doesn't get better. Red flags all around for the main characters... Daphne abusing her husband to have children, and Anthony pressuring Kate after the wedding are just the tip of the iceberg. The series is so much better
Hi Hedda & Margo! 🙋🏻♀️❤️✨ Love your August cover spread! I love cats (serve 4). 😻 Also love autumn colors! 🍃🐿️🍁🍄🦉🌾🌻🦃🍂 Congratulations on taking Margo in to foster her and her kittens. Hope all goes well and Margo and her kittens find forever homes. Mari, 1 of our 4 cats, we took in at the end of August 2017 when she was pregnant. She is all black but gave birth to 5 tabby kittens, 1 girl & 4 boys. When the kittens were old enough a local foster organization took the kittens to find them homes. Thank you for sharing!!! 😊 Love, Hugs, Blessings & Sparkles! ❤️🫂🙏🏻💖✨
It happened to me as well this month, I accidentally made the most beautiful spread for the book I did not enjoy at all 🤣 Your observations for all this books are so on point! I'm so sad I did not know about your advent calendar last year because those dragon stickers are stunning! But I'm very excited to get the calendar this year :D I read Mistborn series 2 years ago and I already feel like rereading it :D I read 3 Murderbot books and I gave up on the series because it felt like the same thing over and over again 😅 Beautiful spreads as always 😍 Sorry these comments are kind of weird, I've just been writing down my thoughts as I watching the video 😅 I am currently reading The Radium Girls and it is one of the most difficult books to read for me, not because of writing but because of the theme. It's about women who worked with radium when it was the newest big invention and how they started to get sick and how company acted as if everything was ok even when those women were dying left and right. It is a remarkable story but very difficult to get through.
I love your videos. They are so calming and creative. For spooky month, I have a couple recommendations including a self-rec: The Hike by Drew Magary - funny and terrifying and transformative Blood in the Water by Carolina Cruz - kind of takes place during Dracula's journey to England, but doesnt include him The Binding of Bloom Mountain by Vesper Doom (my book, I can send you an ebook if youd like to read it) - an autistic lesbian has to hike a cursed mountain to save a town from destruction What Moves the Dead and What Feasts at Night by T. Kingfisher - two novellas, one a retelling of the Fall of the House of Usher, with a nonbinary main character who is kind of an idiot but it works really well in these books
I am currently reading the murder bot series !! It’s a great series ❤ I have picked up the advent calendar and I cannot wait to receive it!! My husband and I fostered as well and it was always young pregnant moms. At one time we had 12 kitties in our house, was a lot of work but soooo rewarding 🥰
Awww this is so sweet on fostering the cute kitty. When my cat Coco was pregnant and gave birth to 5 kittens my mum & I brought a pop up play pen so that they could all be together especially during the hose couple of days of after birth for coco. (Hope this is helpful) 💖
Getting a cat with kittens is so exciting! Hope they're all healthy and adorable 😻 Beautiful spreads as always. Already preordered the advent calendar, so excited to see what's in it!
Congratulations to your cat She is so cute and adorable I am looking forward to seeing her in all your videos. As always I enjoy your video , thank you😊
Lovely spreads as always, you're so very good at this! 🌟✨️🌟 How great that you have become a cat foster mum! 🩷😻💚 Warms my heart. När det gäller böcker tycker jag ett märkligt 'fenomen' var att så många gillade 50 Shades of Grey. Jag kämpade mig igenom cirka 100 sidor - like torture! - i tron att det skulle bli bättre. Nope! AVSKYDDE den innerligt! Så banal. Ha en fin vecka! ⭐️ /Ditte i Skåne 🤓 🇸🇪
The spread for The Viscount Who Loved Me is really nice. All the elements fit together really well. ❤ I'm actually in the middle of The Murderbot Diaries based on your recommendation. I currently have the third book loaned via Libby, just haven't gotten to reading it quite yet. I've enjoyed the series a lot so far, glad I picked it up!
When I saw your foster kitty I instantly thought of Fat Louie from Princess Diaries. 😅 Good luck when the kittens come. All your spreads are beautiful as always. I think the Bridgerton spread is my favorite though. I also like going into books as blind as possible. As soon as I'm like I want to read that book I don't want to hear anything else about it.
You'll be happy to know we'll be getting 2 more murderbot books! And maybe at least one more short story from another person's perspective. There are few shorts that aren't in the books, and are like only 40 pages (in phone page size): Compulsory (it's a wired magazine article short which you should be able to find online easy), Home: Habitat, Range, Niche, Territory which was a pre-order short but I think is also easily findable. That one is done in Mensah's POV set before Network Effect (which is my ABSOLUTE fave of them all cause of the snark between ART & Murderbot). I think Systems Collapse is the weakest of them all but that's just like saying it's a 4.5 instead of a 5 but still enjoyed it. I too thought it was the last/last book, but yeah she has been contracted for 2 more. And it's going to be a show! Next year! :D On AppleTV.... but yeah, I can't wait.
I love the Murderbot Diaries! Martha Wells gives us a novella every so often but I feel like we may see fewer of them now that she's consult-producing The Murderbot Diaries series for Apple TV+; could be wrong, it could inspire her to give us more Murderbot! 🤞🤞They're all novellas except for Network Effect which is the only full length novel (so far). I always recommend this series as my favorite and it's my absolute favorite to binge-listen to because Keven R Free does an amazing narration. 🥰
The cutting mat?☺️ I bought it in Sekaido in Japan🙈 I actually bought the first one in 2018, and then I bought a replacement this year! It’s just that perfect haha! It’s so convenient that it can be folded☺️
I love the spread of The Viscount! So pretty!! 😍🤩 Now, about the Bridgerton series: I'm a huge fan of Regency romance novels, but Julia Quinn has never been my cup of tea, so I haven't read the series, and I don't like 'popular' things which is why I haven't watch the TV series either. Hearing your thoughts on the books, and if you want to read more historical romance, I would recommend Stephanie Laurens or Mary Balogh. Laurens has a massive saga, the Cynsters, but you could just read the spin-off The Casebook of Barnaby Adair, and you will be happy with the treatment of the female characters 😉 I don't read horror, but if you want to try thrillers John Katzenbach is a good bet. Love from Chile!! ❤
Right now I'm reading "Episode thirteen" by Craig Dilouie that I saw as recommended in some list for spooky books and thought it was interesting. You're following a tv-show group doing a ghost debunking series. Episode thirteen is the last episode for the season and things just get scary. It got that eerie feeling that creeps up your spine ^^. I highly recommend it.
man i really enjoy hearing your opinion on mistborn! i really agreed on your review of the first book but this time i didn't quite agree, i did enjoy more women in the second book but i absolutely hated tindwyl oops. i can't wait to hear what you have to say about the third book! i'm currently reading that one. :)
Har inte sett färdigt videon än, men om Bridgerton: det är ett av få tillfällen där jag tycker att man bara kan skita i böckerna😅. Mycket mer värt att se TV-serien!
Last October I read vampire books. Started with Dracula (Stoker), because I wanted the inspiration of modern vampires. (I am aware there is an older one. Stoker’s is prominent though. I followed with Interview with a Vampire and Salem’s Lot. There were a couple more, but I am drawing a blank. It was interesting to see the inspiration and where the ideas diverged. Another really good spooky/horror series is the Pine Deep Trilogy by Jonathan Maberry. The first book is Ghost Road Blues. Maberry’s writing is amazing!
Great set up Hedda, they're really pretty. I would stick with the Bridgerton Show rather than finish the books as some of the characters just don't improve. :)
I kinda get what you mean with the Bridgerton books. I watched the show before I started reading the books as well and I couldn't get through the first two books 😅 I got through Benedict's book (which will be Season 4 in the show), and his character is definitely flawed. He's a man of his time, I'll say that. It was an ok read though. Colin's book - genuinely loved it so much. The romance felt so real, like I wasn't sold on the friends to lovers trope at first but i thought it was written very well. It's also a lot spicier than Season 3 of the show so 👏👏 Colin does more of the pining than Penelope does, and there was more depth to Pen's relationship with Lady Danbury. Eloise's book was difficult to get into but halfway through I did start to like it. Phillip is SO grumpy at the beginning but hw grows on you. The characters are complex and you can understand their emotions and what they're going through. I'm now on to Francesca's book... I hate to say it but the confirmed gender swap in the show has ruined it for me 🫣 Or like, reading the book first. I feel I could really get into the book because it starts off quite tragic and deep and so you build these emotional connections with the characters right off the bat, but to know that it won't play out that way on-screen almost makes me not want to read it. I dont want to get emotionally attached cause it will then ruin the show for me 😬 I think perhaps I'll need to watch the show first, and then compare it to the book afterwards so that I can make a less biased judgement of the show... If that makes sense? Cause I do want to be open to the change. Yeah... The Bridgerton books are definitely very 90s and of their time. I highly advise you read Colin and Penelope's book though, and then watching the mirror scene in the show will make their story go full circle I think 👏👏 Cause the mirror scene in the book is only hinted at which is why that scene was so highly anticipated in the show 👏 I have a lot of respect for their story, like it's a real girl power book 👏👏
The way you feel about the Bridgerton books reminds me of how I felt about the Outlander books. I heard such great things about it but I couldn't get myself to like the characters and I felt worse and worse at it went (although I only read the first book, but it's huge). Some things I really liked about it but the main love interest starts out okay and becomes worse and worse, but it's rewarded. I mean, every time you hear that the villain has done something terrible, or enjoys something sadistic, the "hero" has done it too or has the same fetish, and yet in one case it's supposed to show he's a terrible person and in the other case it's somehow considered sexy by the heroine. I just had to stop reading it, and it doesn't help that it's such a long books and a long series. I wasn't going to invest more time and energy in something that was so clearly not for me!
I read a fair amount of historical romances, but, though I haven't read the Bridgerton books in particular, I've always really disliked Julia Quinn's novels. It actually took me a while to watch the show version of Bridgerton because my dislike of her work was so strong! (I'm glad I did eventually give the show a chance, because, to my surprise, I ended up really enjoying it.)
I have so many issues with Bridgerton... I can read some dark stuff and have no problems, but for some reason it's different when it's supposed to seem like this light and cute romance with just drama. I wasn't expecting there to be the types of things in it and so I wasn't prepared and it just grossed me out so much.
I hated Anthony as a character in the book and the tv show... I found him annoying and stiff and rude, I know that its very time relevant to see woman a certain way but dang just... he was a huge no for me!
🐾 Be sure and share kitten pics next month. 🐈 As always, I enjoy your videos.
Oh you bet I will!😍
Can't wait to see the kittens
Me too🥹
I started (and binged) the Murderbot Diaries because I saw you started them a few months back. They are some of my favorite novellas!
Oh I’m so happy to hear that! They are definitely binge-worthy 😍
I hate myself and went through all the books in the bridgerton series, and let me tell you: it doesn't get better. Red flags all around for the main characters... Daphne abusing her husband to have children, and Anthony pressuring Kate after the wedding are just the tip of the iceberg. The series is so much better
Oh gosh, I’m so glad I didn’t buy more than the first two before I started reading😂 no more Bridgerton books for me, that’s for sure!
I do not watch the show but was very disappointed in Colin and Penelope's book. I did not care for their romance at all.
What a lovely cat!
Hi Hedda & Margo! 🙋🏻♀️❤️✨

Glad you liked System Collapse! It got mixed reviews but l enjoyed it fine. I do hope we get more Murderbot in the future 🙂
I love your videos. They are so calming and creative.
For spooky month, I have a couple recommendations including a self-rec:
The Hike by Drew Magary - funny and terrifying and transformative
Blood in the Water by Carolina Cruz - kind of takes place during Dracula's journey to England, but doesnt include him

I love those dragon stickers, they are gorgeous ☺☺

Welcome to the cat mom life! I have 2 and they are amazing!
Getting a cat with kittens is so exciting! Hope they're all healthy and adorable 😻
