OK, if you mention it later in the video, then my bad for asking too soon; but I’m curious if you all considered the zoning of the land as part of your purchase? I ask because even some of the most remote parcels can require somewhat extensive sewage improvements to be inhabited in anyway shape or form. And as a “rec property“ if you were zoned for residential, could your plans get complicated if you had a more zealous neighbor who didn’t appreciate your ideas. We have been looking forever down in Arizona and have been reluctant to consider any investment that restricts usage beyond a permanent home.
Please keep in mind that we are not an official campground. We are simply creating camping opportunities for our family and guests. Everything we do will be off-grid, including power, water, etc. All of this and more is within the land use case. Our goal is to have a very small footprint on the land.

As you describe his precisely why we would like to own some land that offers us more uses for our friends and family and that we can invest our time in with regard to making it just a little bit more fun and comfortable. Obviously, the more remote, the more one can likely do as they please. But we are always reluctant to consider our vision on a piece of property that might someday have enforceable restrictions.
