- J9 and G9 got to experience a huge thing on their BUCKET LIST!
By finding a mistake fare, we were fortunate enough to fly to JFK First Class! Forgive us if we seem totally geeky about the whole experience, but we just never thought we'd get to do this! We wanted those interested to see our reactions from checking in to landing.
Thanks BA for a great flight, and special mention to Ian for looking after us so brilliantly.

As a retired Captain there are many occasions where I used to think First Class should have a dress code but when I see peeps like you guys genuinely excited and appreciating the product, I can make an exception. Great video and Im sure there were a few "stiffs" on board -tutting - happy flying really enjoyed the video

I may have commented on this page before, but I too had a terrific experience in BA's first class LHR to JFK. Is that the Sofitel at Terminal 5? I stayed there before as well - wonderful experience
The hat (baseball cap) is a complete no-no indoors AND on a plane in 1st class, George!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Genuine excitement! Counting down the days to my first class in December

I experienced 1st class to Washington DC last October with BA. absolutely amazing and the Concorde lounge is out of this world.
Loved your video and genuine Joie de vivre. I can relate as hubby and I did Business for the first time in 2019. We were equally excited. Haven't yet got over the fact that the air hostess asked if she could hang up my coat!!!!!. Ignore the negative comments, not worth a response, don't let them steal your joy, YoLo!

Great video. Please can I just ask can you just walk from the hotel to Terminal 5 as I have seen other reviews saying you have to get an underground shuttle from that hotel but it looks like you just walked it? Thanks

Last year I flew to the US which was my first time flying solo anywhere and my dad managed to talk me into business class for a free upgrade and it was great! Flew with Virgin.

Yeah he’s great! Flying solo was really fun actually, and the fact that I was escorted to my connecting flight because I was on first class helped. Food on the flight was great, leg room was a plus (because I’m 6’5). You could tell it was dated but still a really nice flight!

Hey as you said, there are deals everywhere! Just got to find them, one thing the people who can always afford it won’t understand is how it feels to have that experience once it’s been earned!

Loved this.....I’m flying First to JFK in September and so excited!!! So in the meantime I keep watching out for new BA First videos. You know when you almost don’t want it to come as I’m loving the anticipation! We normally fly BA Club so it’s not like we’ve had bad flights before but this is a different level........and so looking forward to my little amenity kit.......😂😂😂😂 Thank you for a great video xx

Really nice, honest video. I am surprised you had to get the train to the satellite terminals at Heathrow, I always assumed there was a private access from the Concorde longue, thanks for resetting my expectation

Great vid! Done the first class trip and it's very much part of the holiday for me, i'm like a kid in a sweet shop!! I hope you get to experience it on a much longer flight one day, makes a long flight even more enjoyable.
Thanks Simon! Yes I totally agree, it's a totally extra part of the holiday isn't it!? We would LOVE to experience some other airlines in different classes for longer flights (like Australia/Japan), but I fear that may be a pipe dream! You never know though :) And if we do, there will 100% be a video!

Full on video. Love BA First. Doing it again in Feb to KL. was that a 777? Concorde Room is fantastic and the champagne flows. Thank heavens for avios and the 2 4 1 voucher!

BA First is pretty special. Did you experience the JFK lounge?
Yes we did! We experienced both lounges (First and Concord) and the concord was definitely nicer :) Both LHR and JFK had a grand piano! It was wonderful!

Thanks for supporting! Just keep looking for the mistake fares, as they do exist! We wouldn't have been able to go had we not found one accidentally!
What hotel you stay in before the flight?
We stayed at the Sofitel Hotel at Terminal 5! It was wonderful :) We made a small vlog about it the night before this one!

I'm glad you had a fabbo flight, but soapbox time... I realise people usually pay a lot for the First Class treatment, but BA don't even give out a free cup of tea in economy any more on short haul flights, and given that they are now therefore just basically a more expensive "budget" airline, they are only going to lose customers...
You can soapbox all you want of course! Well, we actually had a pretty interesting experience on our way back... Which we will document, so when we get to that vlog I shall be having a good old chat with you! It's SUCH a shame that some airlines including ba have dwindled.. But in this case, we paid for an experience and definitely got it!
Flying is still the best option from this far north when visiting most of England, sadly. You'll know first hand how tiring driving around even our relatively small country is! The only time I flew anything other than cattle class was a work-paid Business Class flight to Hong Kong with KLM nearly twenty years ago, and whilst everything was free, it had to be dragged out of the cabin crew! I'm glad you got the service to match.
save yourself a fortune, fly first class to Philly then get the train to NYC
