Thanks for sharing this. It looked like a very expensive day, both from your purchases and your tastings! I’ve just started getting into whiskey drinking and collecting. I normally spend about £40 a month on a bottle. I’ve tried a few bourbons: Woodford Reserve, Eagle Rare, Angel’s Envy, Wild Turkey 101. Some Scotch: Edradour 10, Aberlour 12, anCnoc 12 and some others, and we had a trip to Dublin recently to try some whisky there. I bought the Redbreast 12 and a Knoppogue Castle which was a surprise. I’ll keep a watch on where you go next.
Thanks! And thanks for the support. It’s great getting into bourbon and whisky over time. All good picks you have tried so far. Christmas is coming and for what it’s worth if you can get one of those whisky advent calendars they are a pretty good way to try a bunch too! Although a little pricy; you can save the bottles and do it again in future years. I’ve found a few great options from that.
Great video so interesting to see what you have there. Going to use that map I always go to London for a month every other summer. I’ll subscribe for sure. I’m from Indiana by the way.
A nice welcome then! That was the idea of the map; to help people find places to enjoy / look and drink when they come over. Also let's you see what we have here so if you see anything great that doesn't make it over, am always looking for recomendations for in case the opportunities come to get something from stateside.
Fun video. Great pickups. The selection was a lot more extensive than I had imagined and better than a lot of places here in the U.S I was surprised to see Balcones Texas whiskey there, even the Blue label. I can get the Red label around here for about 27 USD so it was a little high there. Its a little different, but I really enjoy it. The prices there seem to be all over, the price for the Blanton's seems high I have been buying it here for 69 USD and it just went up to 74. But those EH Taylors can be twice what you're paying there, when you can find them, same with the Schenks. Then you have the Old Tub which is about half or less than the price they had on it there and widely available, unfiltered and bonded it is a good whiskey. There are basically two types of states here for pricing. Staes that are liquor controlled and have a state board overseeing them and, in some cases, owning the stores where the prices cannot be above the distilleries suggested retail, and then the other states with all private distribution and retail, where there are hefty markups on the most popular and hard to find stuff.
I didn't realise the state control on pricing in the US was so controlled. That's really interesting and makes sense why some allocated stuff is seeing higher MSRPs to keep it off the secondary. The mix of what is available here and in the states is really varied and because of different distributor lines shops often carry really wide ranges too which makes the hunting fun because you never know what you can find.
@@BarrelRollx Yes in the controlled states the Liquor Boards control all aspects of the sale of spirits. In non liquor control states the regulation is usually left up to the individual city or town and doesn't get into pricing. Then you have to add in the "three tier' system mandated by federal law since the fall of prohibition, that does not allow the sale of alcoholic beverages direct from the distiller/producer, to retail, only to wholesale distributors who then sell to the stores and bars/pubs. I would imagine that doesn't apply to the distillers selling over there (I don't know what your laws are on alcohol sales) and might account for some of the price discrepancy and availability. Cheers
Thanks for the UK Bourbon content, this one is very handy for my trip up to London this weekend. Can you update the bourbon map for us in Plymouth please. As whilst we are a shop, we are also a bar and all of our 30 odd bourbons are for drinnking on site rather than retail.
Cheers mate, new sub for your channel, I've done some late nights with the US Bourbon channels pub style & I'm hoping you will do a live show format one day, they are great fun when you have a few on screen, also will you be doing a review of that Leiper's Fork I've yet to try it but was assured it was the finest craft whisky in it's area off Tennessee. P.S They have been slightly reduced on House of Malt to £69 (Bourbon) & £67 ( Tenn Whisky).
Thanks for the sub! Actually I was at an industry night last night and got to try both; they are good, and have actually a different note to them compared to what you expect. The bourbon is sweeter whilst the Tennessee is a bit more sour when contrasted. But definitely worth a taste and at the price worth having in your collection. There is also a barrel pick out there atm and another coming to the UK I hear.
It’s real pricy - I do want it but also … it’s real pricy. I know that’s rich cause I just dropped on all the bottles but it’s around quite a bit here; just need to find a day where I don’t find anything else and feel flush!

Awesome video thank you! It's from recent time?
Yeah it was about a week before the video was posted; just needed some editing time. Thanks for the encouragement!
Great content, your shops format look amazing compared to the standard US format. Cheers from Illinois.
There are some amazing shops here from a decore perspective - much more bar vibes than the supermarket vibes i see on US videos.
I had the Frey Ranch rye and the Elijah Craig from the whisky exchange at the weekend.
nice pickups. not had the FR before.
How much were those van winkles at the exchange?
not cheap - I think most high secondary; like over 1k. Is usually the case if they are shelf sitters sadly.
@@BarrelRollx thanks for the reply. I’m going to London next week so going to check these places out. Great video
@@lt9303 Nice let me know how you go and if you find anything good. Also there is a link to a map of store in my bio that may be helpful as well.
Great video. Low country is next on my list - how is it?
It’s great; very chill vibes and I think they have some great stuff coming down the line in the future.

Thanks for the added info for the map! Will get it updated.
£103 for a standard blanton's is horrificly high
Annoyingly I seen it 2 days later for £83. Kicked myself. But win some lose some.
You gotta pick up one of the bardstown next time!
Oh you will love the latest video then!!
It’s a bit frustrating that you can so easily find BTAC pours for ~$40 a pour, while I can’t find them at all here in New England:).
Well at least if you ever head to London you know where to come :)
Can someone please ID the song playing in Jeroboams?
found
Oh nice, what was it? I'm curious now.

Not in the market for the incredibly sought-after Michter's 10 yr!?!?
