A lovely puzzle, as we've come to expect from Akash. I didn't find any strategy that I would call remarkable, but I suppose any hard-rated strategy might be remarkable to anybody who had never seen it before (36 = row 3 column 6):
    36, 19, 99, 13, 49,
    78, 88, 61, 45, 38,
    27, 91, 25, 34, 86,
    22, 24, 65, 53, 64,
    48, 67, 57, 75, 54,
    43, 56, 46, 85 (Skyscraper, or colours from R7C6),
    76, 72, 26, 35, 33,
    32, 63, 58, 47, 68,
    42, 62, 52, 23, 39,
    29, 12, 11, 83, 71,
    81, 74, 84, 77, 87,
    97, 98.
Naturally, a variation is called for. Here's one with a missing digit:
    000 123 450
    000 000 060
    200 040 700
    300 200 000
    407 060 205
    000 005 006
    002 010 007
    030 000 000
    045 678 000
    000123450000000060200040700300200000407060205000005006002010007030000000045678000
    HoDoKu rating: Hard 956.
Andrew Stuart rating; Tough Grade 109.

I began by filling in the perimeter, then went to the rest of the grid. I just filled things in. Near the end, I saw a skyscraper in 3s. I had no idea that centermarking the grid and a skyscraper were all that was needed to collapse the puzzle. The green cell was part of the skyscraper, and had 34, one of two 34 pairs. BTW, I didn't find or need a two-string kite.
I used what you called the upside-down skyscraper.

At 9:18, we have the presence of FRACTURED WING in 3 on c2 where 3 splits @(32)&(72) AND on c6 where 3 splits @(26)&(76), with row 7 as pivot !!!!
That right away means we can’t have 1@(35), looking at both 1 in the arms of the Wing at (32)&(26), OTHERWISE 1@(35) would simultaneously lead to 1 on c2@(72) and on c6@(76) , resulting in two 1s on the same row 7, in VIOLATION to the house rule!!!( now do u see the significance of having a shared row as a pivot for the argument to work ? U can have situations where the pivot is in the form of shared column or Box!! I’ll be more than happy to demonstrate those situations upon request!!)
So 3 in Box 2 has to be @(26)! and on c5@(85) ==> 3 on c3@(33) plus in B7@(72)!, thereby completing all 3s in the grid!
It frightens and frustrates me to watch u spend minutes to finally figure out that 3 has to be @(26), when it should take only seconds, almost pronto !!

I love that you notice cells I could solve much earlier in the video. I call them screamer cells because I used to scream the answer at the screen when I watched a video as if the solver could hear me.

Nice puzzle and solve. I solved it in 9:43.
I used the same skyscraper, but eliminated 3 from r2c3 instead, placing 9 there, which solves the puzzle as well. You can also view this as a finned X-wing on the 3-s in rows 3 and 8 or in columns 3 and 5, which remove 3 from r2c3 and r3c2 respectively.

I solved this in 34:56 with no help from the video. I had almost all candidates filled in, so I had a bunch of BVCs. What broke it for me was I found the 2 string kite towards the end which solved the puzzle, but I never found nor needed a skyscraper. I don't know how long I had the candidates for the 2 string kite filled in before I found it, but it was probably a while.

@@SmartHobbies I just did something I found interesting. I ran through the puzzle again, this time knowing what to watch for as I went along concerning the 2-string kite. I finished the puzzle in 16:19, less than half the time that it initially took me. I'm spending too much time trying to continue to fill in cells that aren't particularly useful, when the info needed for the advanced technique is already there.

Filled in the grid with possibilities then first tried colouring the 1s and 9s to see if that led to any contradictions, which it didn’t. Next I coloured the possibilities for 3 around the grid and found only one set solved the puzzle whereas the other removed 3 from box 1. Effectively this was probably a skyscraper but was easier for me to visualise.

Basically a fail for me. I did not spot the strategy for the 34s. Bifurcation with the 9s in block 1 was the only thing for me to come through: 9 in row 3 causes conflict and hence 9 in r2c3.. Very crude, isn't it ?

Great question. I input the puzzle into f-puzzles.com which is freely available to input classic puzzles and several types of variants. I then transfer the puzzle over to CTC app also known as Sudoku Pad. F-puzzles is better for setting and I think CTC is better for solving. Hope that helps
