I like this but what's frustrating is you can't see any network information like wifi, mobile phone reception etc. Apart from that it's pretty good! Good vid.
This was exactly the video I needed to straighten out my teen. He is still safely connected to the world but not social media and whatnot for a bit. Perfect. 😁
I hope they bring some good updates to that feature because it's pretty laggy and buggy at the moment. We need to have access to the settings app within the mode as well. I also don't understand why the promotion display is running at full speed.
Me too! Doing this tonight! As she back talked when I asked her to turn it off… This video has been very useful to moms all over the world, you should change the title of video to make it easier for us moms to find it. I have been researching for hours on what to do, whether huy a dumb nokia phone or do this. 😅
If you go into settings, accessibility, assistive access and scroll to the bottom you can toggle on or off the battery percentage showing on the homescreen
Great video. Thanks! One issue I'm having is that triple clicking the power button opens Apple Wallet because that's what double clicking it does. Is there another way to shortcut it?
I think it’s because you’re trying to click into assistive access. You can only get into the feature through the setting. Triple click is only for leaving the feature
Tried setting it up, it limits the number of contacts you can add for messaging and making calls. Can’t exactly limit myself to half my contact list …… unfortunately can’t move forward with using it because of this
I love this - thanks for the video - allows me to have a simple phone with watsapp, podcast, music, text and calls but none of the other distractions of a smartphone. Will use it for my kids too.
Does wifi still work when using this? Also I have an essential app that I have to use for work and have set to over ride silent mode. Will this still work?
How well would this work for dumbing down an iPhone for my daughter? Would she be able to change it back? Is the passcode to change it the same as the unlock phone code?
The interesting thing about this mode is that it requires you to manually choose which contacts you wish to send messages/call while in it! In order to do this, while on the assistive access setting, click on the messages app (should be already selected as one of the active apps in this mode), scroll down until you see the option 'Send Messages To Selected Contacts,' underneath it will have 'Select Contact' and from there you can select any and all contacts you wish to send messages to in this mode. Hope this helps! :)
Thought of this before but stopped using it because once I got stuck in AA and phone, text, clock don't gimmie sound notifications. Is there a way to turn the sound notifications on?
Hey there! I know this comment is a bit overdue but in order to do this, just go into settings, click accessibility, then click assistive access. After just scroll all the way the way to the bottom and you'll see an option for 'Allow Silent Mode,' just click to enable it and you'll be good to go!
I think you need to find instructions in hindi.. as im not sure if you are joking or not, and ou like the fact you can not text? there are videos in hindi x
I don’t think it works well for normal people. It’s great for a misbehaving teen. I have to hand pick every contact I want to receive a message from. That’s bonkers.
You can always go back to smart functions. I bought my iPhone to have a good camera almays in my pocket. But it comes with too much distraction... I will try this method now. Thanks! 😊
whats stupid is I cant used my 20 digit passcode, they force me to use a smaller digit count, which makes sense for people with cognitive disabilities, but like they should allow us folk who want a dumbphone to use whatever passcode we want LOL
So I could have the best of both worlds, all the apps I want to use when I need to or want to but also a super simple dumb phone when I don't want to be distracted!
People are more dumb nowadays, just hide the apps and leave the apps that you want to use on your homescreen, very simple, dont needd to use assistive access, even senior can use iphone if you teach them repeatedly, people makes apple more dumb because they demand too much
It seems certain stocks are undervalued, flying under the radar despite their potential. You can't help but wonder when the market will recognize their true worth. How can I invest $600K wisely to ensure our future security?
Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased. Alternatively, you can consult a trained financial expert for strategy.
Yes true, I have been in touch with a brokerage Advisor. With an initial starting reserve of $80k, my advisor chooses the entry and exit commands for my portfolio, which has grown to approximately $550k.

Lol I can’t do this since I have an iPhone 8. Can’t install iOS 17. My phone is too dumb to make dumb :(
Same lol
iPhone 8 is iconic
Yes, and the perfect size. Don't want to be walking around with a mini iPad in my pocket
I saw an app that uses widgets to make something similar, I have a 6s that supports widgets so i think you should be able to get widgets on the 8
@@flybalbu May I ask what app?
why doesnt this have more views most of the minimalist phone set up videos i have seen use apps that cost money ur a saint

Hahahahahahhaha
I like this, but it’s very annoying to miss time-sensitive notifications. I don’t like not being able to take screenshots either.
I don't like how it limits options for sending text messages.
I hope they bring some good updates to that feature because it's pretty laggy and buggy at the moment. We need to have access to the settings app within the mode as well. I also don't understand why the promotion display is running at full speed.
Need to be able to text/call anyone, and be able to toggle cellular data and wifi
I’m thinking about using this with my daughter’s phone to keep her off social media
I’m about to do the same

does bluetooth still work? I installed it but can't connect my Airpods, I would really like to be able to listen to Spotify
Just tried this out. so close to being good… but you can’t see your recent calls
yeah that's the biggest problem I've noticed too! can only see favorites. Hopefully apple updates in the next IOS
oh that isnt good
you can have a friend put in the assistive access passcode so that you can't turn it off yourself
Thanks for this, really appreciate that I don't have to download and pay for an app like many videos out there suggest.
The alarm doesn't sound. Are there any problems like this?
How do you change it so you can text anyone back
on Samsung phone, only you need is turn on maximum battery saving. Problem solving
How do I see the battery percentage while assistive access?
You can’t :(
If you go into settings, accessibility, assistive access and scroll to the bottom you can toggle on or off the battery percentage showing on the homescreen

apple creating a good feature to turn your iphone into a dumb/less smart phone without even knowing it might be the future
Tried setting it up, it limits the number of contacts you can add for messaging and making calls. Can’t exactly limit myself to half my contact list …… unfortunately can’t move forward with using it because of this
Maybe Apple will make it better. Sorry it doesn’t work for you
This was a problem for me as well so I added Contacts as an app and now it's usable.
The last iOS version for my iPhone 7+ is 15, so your accessibility method doesn’t work for me. Should I buy new iPhone to get this functionality? 😂
There's an app that lets you use widgets to do something similar
As a visually impaired, I thought the novelty was good but I haven't used it yet .
Works perfect except I need the Lock Screen to actually lock. Any help there?
It does lock, I tested it by covering my camera and it prompted me with passcode
I absolutely love this mode
Can I use this in a way that will not allow me to add any apps? I need to have a way to not override and get into an app I’m trying to be off of.
Let someone else input access code, that way there is no way you can disable it
Great video, are you a Light Mode guy or do you switch often between the two?
I switching back and forth. I like both
Yeah man, gotta have your Bible app. I started using Bear as my go to note taking app years ago and love it because of it’s simplicity.
I love this - thanks for the video - allows me to have a simple phone with watsapp, podcast, music, text and calls but none of the other distractions of a smartphone. Will use it for my kids too.
Still having trouble with messaging. It won’t let me write people back 😢
You have to sent the recipients in the settings before switching modes
Hey, Can you help me out? I'm not able to come back to normal mode after clicking power button 3 times, i'm not getting exit option
Just what I needed - thanks
Can this be set for a certain time of the day?

@@highdesertdroneservices4497 I talk about how to get out of it. I think it would be sufficient but depends on the age.
I'm pretty sure it uses a different passcode.
I can't figure out how to text. Even with keyboard on it won't let me send messages or pull up the keyboard.
unfortunately, the only way to bypass this is to add every single contact as an emergency contact :( hopefully they’ll fix this in a future update
I really like this feature but cant get over not being able to send texts

How do you dial a new phone number?
I can't get any farther because it wants me to change my security pass code from my phone to something smaller, no thank you.
thanks for the video, I will send this to my friend too :)
I just want to try it for following days to detox
Has anyone solved the problem of the alarm not sounding in assisted access?
to buy an alarm clock ;)
For some reason, after an update my apple‘s alarm got so low you can’t hear it no matter how many times I adjust it. I gave up on it.
What happens with the apps that you don’t select? Do they show up?
Absolutely mind blowing 🤯 although it feels a bit scary, it's definitely worth the try!
Nope it isn’t at all. It’s a great tool for people who need a break from pessimistic social media.
The more I watch these videos the more my addiction becomes😢
All I want on mine is apps to pay my bills and text and call. And the Bible app as well for when I’m on the go
Does this stick when rebooting or does one need to start it again if the phone runs out of battery?
It stays in this mode.

@@JoanneDoble same.... how do you reply to messages?
You have to add each contact you send messages to in assistive access app settings. It's a bit annoying and time consuming.
I caught that part at the end of the video, takes a bit to figure out and a bit tedious
Why people are buying expensive smart phone and converting into dump phone? Just buy a dump phone instead.
because theres alot of things dumb phones cant do that smartphones can do
i guess people just want a phone thats not so damn predatory for your attention
