Moena Cafe has become too touristy. Next time, try Guieb Cafe (3 locations in Kalihi (district in West section of Honolulu), Aiea and Wahiawa). I went with my son and daughter in law and loved it! We went to the Kalihi (OG location) branch.
If you want to yry more local food in a comfortable setting, try Side Street Inn (on Kapahulu Ave). You won't regret it ( the OG location in the Ala. Moana area started by local chef Colin Nishida was a place for executive chefs to relax and meet and enjoy local foods with other chefs and became popular.
Try 7-11 Hawaii's Spam Musubis... many variations, hope you guys stopped by during your vacation!
