The finished product absolutely stunned me. My ‘79 450SLC sat for a long time and although it ran fine for a few weeks recently, the fuel delivery system finally called it quits. I’ll be ordering your kit very soon to get her back on the road. Can’t wait to turn some wrenches

    Wow . I'm impressed.
I will be rebuilding the fuel pump delivery system on my 1982 SL380 and can't wait tto see it finished.
I will also replace the bolts and screws with stainless steel.
    Thank you.

I’ve got an old jag with SU parts

    Kent,
Wish I had a car to buy this for.
I can see this was a lot of work for you putting this zigsaw puzzle together. Nice job 👍

Working on my late grandmothers '80 450SL with 36K miles right now. Just trying to get it road worthy again. I'll probably be in contact with you.

Ken, Sounds like it could be a really nice SL. If it has been sitting for a long time, you will definitely have to start on the fuel system and brakes. Kent

Hey Kent, any recommendations on diagnostic tools for late model MB? I just can't justify the subscription costs of OEM software as a DIY. Frustrating knowing that there are possible issues that require SCN coding and adaptation!

The accumulator I got has 2 threaded ports. They seem to lead into the same area and a flash light confirms that. Can I just cap one off? If so any idea what those threads are and what fitting to get?

Do you have a kit for 1988 w126 420SEL ? Or one that you’ve rebuilt for sale like the one in your video? If so how much?

I have a very complete kit for the 420SEL. If you follow this link you can learn more about it and even see me rebuilding one in my own 420SEL. Sorry, you will have to make it look pretty yourself. :-) mercedessource.com/store/1986-1991-r107-and-w126-twin-pump-fuel-delivery-overhaul-kit

I have a new to me 1980 450 SL the bosch fuel pump has been replaced and fuel pump relay 3 weeks ago by a trusted shop in Cali who is my uncles mechanic for 30yrs after a 15 to 20mins of drive a start hearing a buzzing sound coming from the pump and its loud. Is that normal? The car is now in Las Vegas and I don’t want to bring it back to cali for that or probably just replace it?

If it is a trusted shop, you should be able to call him to get troubleshooting advice. It might be a flow problem. Did he replace the filter screen in the fuel tank, etc.

I talked to him he said he only replace fuel screen and the line from the tank.😅 I guess I need to replace everything now.

@@Mercedessource what kind and size of plug do you use so I don’t have to drain the tank. I still have 3/4 of fuel in the tank?

Any 1/2" barbed hose plug will work. I include on in my fuel delivery kits.

You can buy these kits from my website. There were 2 different types of FID on the 76 to 80 V8 mercedes so you have to inspect what you have installed before ordering.
