Saw my first agouti two weeks ago in Trinidad and Tobago. Went out to the road in the country. Heard noise russling of what sounded like it must be a sizable animal. I heard it russling through Forest getting closer and closer to me and the road. At same time, car was slowly coming up the road. The animal crossed the road cool and comfortable 10 feet in front of me. I've never seen the shape before. A young boy yelled out the window the words his father said, both clearly saw on my face that I didn't know what it was "That's an Agouti!" I said, "What?" "An Agouti!"
Here on youtube to know more. I'm honored to have seen one. I hope people evolve to Enjoy their presence and meaning in their lives beyond food
