Thanks a lot for your wonderful videos. I use them very often to help my students understand Spanish grammar. However, I agree with a poster below that it's easier to say we drop the "-ar" and add "-ado" and drop the "-er" and "-ir" and add "-ido".
Thank you for explaining what "Perfect" means in English lol. Even as a top English student I go more by ear than these arbitrary, non-sensical labels!
This was absolutely amazing even though I didn't understand it all (towards the end). I feel like what I've been trying to learn in the last 2 weeks has been learned in 10 mins. Thanks for this and everything else!!
Watched and liked all these videos, very helpful !! Will you be doing a video similar to this on the word haber but in the forms like hubiera, haya etc they have me confused of what they actually mean in english, id love to finally understand finally how to use the correctly, thanks !
jebadier That's great! Thanks for watching and for letting me know you liked the videos! As far as your question, I'm slowly trudging through these concepts! I don't have a timeline for when I'll get to them all, as I tend to wait for inspiration for each episode. But [fingers crossed] hopefully I can get those up eventually! ;-) That is the long-term plan.
Hi Senor Jordan, here I am at the very end of your list. First of all, Thank you SOOO much for your videos. I am a high school teacher and I teach Physics. I am Chinese and I lOVE to learn new languages. I started watching your videos about two months ago and I've been taking notes on flash cards. I have 600 single spaced flash cards now (I know. We teachers do have a LOT of time. ;)). I studies Spanish by watching your videos solo and I am very comfortable talking to people now. I did some research on Spanish verb tenses and found out that there are some tenses missing on you video lists. I tried to learn them from Professor Jason’s channel but I have to say that I love your videos much more. Your videos are short, fast pace, and very well organized. I am wondering if you have time to make some more videos soon or have some resources to recommend. These are the tenses I’d like to learn: future perfect and past perfect in indicative mood; imperfect, present perfect, and past perfect in subjunctive mood; conditional perfect in conditional mood. Thank you again for all the work you’ve done. BTW, I'd like to order a shirt from you. But size small is too big for me. :(
How can I find the present perfect practice videos and the irregular videos that you mention at the end of this video? They do not seem to be anywhere on youtube?
I can't find those videos you mentioned at the end about irregulars and the 2 practice videos. No links are annotated or written in the description and i can't find any on the channel.
jajaja es muy divertido ver como los extranjeros aprenden nuestro idioma español, en cambio aqui en america andamos aprendiendo ingles jejeje SALUDOS DESDE COLOMBIA
Not sure what exactly you’re asking. In the event we’re saying “have (done something)” or “had (done something)”, then the “have/had” will be conjugated like other verbs with the endings, yes. However there is the second word we also have to add for the “(done something)” meaning which won’t really follow those rules for other tenses. Ex: (Yo) He hablado. - I have spoken/talked. (Yo) Había hablando. - I had spoken/talked (Ellos) Han comido. - They have eaten. (Ellos) Habían comido. - They had eaten. Does that answer your question?
@@SeñorJordan I love and use your videos in my Spanish class. It's 2021 - I can't find the other two videos you say are available in this video. Were you able to finish them?
+Senor Jordan , ¡Ay! ¡La tragedia! But at least explain why I couldn't find them and why the links weren't working :) I'll look forward to them--love your videos!
+Senor Jordan, I'm a high school teacher with upper level classes in the first time since forever! Looking forward to all those subjunctive videos you've been working on. I normally teach levels 1-3; my students know you and your videos very well!! :) Thanks for all your hard work!
+Wendy Dufoe Very cool! Glad to know that my videos resonate with the students! I'm doing my best, but I am not trying to rush them, because I have been working on raising the quality of my newer videos since more people watch them than I ever planned on! ;-)
It’s been over seven years and you still haven’t made a video of the irregular verbs in the present perfect in Spanish. When are you going to make one?
Why must any mention of Spain refer to clubs in the Islas Baleares, the Sagrada Familia, and the running of the bulls in Pamplona? He forgot at least to mention la paella and el flamenco.
It's good? Yo he estado viendo este vídeo a pesar de que yo hablo español desde que nací, solo quería ver como aprenden los que no hablan español👌 veo que no pronuncia bien la doble (rr)
My friend who is Spanish says that you are not good and make too many mistakes and we only watched it for 2 minutes. Its not the accent that is the problem, just the grammar
Actually, some words are always masculine or always feminine regardless of who they describe. Weird right? That’s because this is grammatical gender and not referring biological gender. Two I can think of off the top of my head are: la persona la víctima
I would remind them that: “Nos encanta la película” means “the movie is enchanting to us” (we love it). So movie is actually the subject. We don’t say “Nos encantamos la película.” So when we say “have loved” it’s the same idea: “Nos ha encantado la película” (the movie has been enchanting to us) or “we have loved it” If they have a grasp of how gustar also has a backwards translation, it can also be used for a reference. Hope that helps!
I’m screwed for this test
Same
Me too
EXAM!☠☠😭😭
How did you do
Como otra profesora de español, puedo apreciar muchísimo lo qué haces aquí. ¡Mis alumnos también lo aprecian! ¡Muchas gracias!
Gracias profesor
You are so clear and easy to listen to. I hope that you have many videos of which to take advantage, and that people find you! You're great.
Muchas Gracias Sr. He mirado este video muchas veces.
I don't know why my tuition money even goes to a professor when these are available online and 10x more informative.
over half of my online classes "lessons" is just a link to his videos
great
What a great lecture! What a great professor! Thank you, Sir!
You know for sure he cut the video after saying titicaca because he was laughing lmao
My man lol

Ok. Thanks for your comment. Glad the videos are helpful.
Concerning endings, please teach whatever is easier for your students.

No he vivido en La Paz.
Thanks for sharing.
I love your videos a lot. I have been struggling to learn spanish, but its been so much easier after i started watching you.
Glad the videos are helpful! Hang in there and let me know if something is still unclear!
So helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for clarifying the difference between the preterite and the present perfect because I was very confused.
This was absolutely amazing even though I didn't understand it all (towards the end). I feel like what I've been trying to learn in the last 2 weeks has been learned in 10 mins. Thanks for this and everything else!!
The color coding and your clear communication is fantastic!
you are the perfect man
i know
Senor jordan so much better than my tutor
Gracias ❤️
Muchisima gracias. He tenido muchas problemas con preterite perfect y ahora lo entiendo mas.
Cool video, a test I have tomorrow is pretty daunting.
Thank you, again, for all you do. I made sure to donate on your website.
Much appreciated! Gracias, Wendy for your continued support!
Presente progresivos be bussin. Thnx Sra. Crawford
Wow. Thanks so much for putting so much time into these videos! They are amazing!
MagentaLeigh mo they aren’t
I think it would have been more helpful if you'd said that you take the stem and add -ado for -ar verbs or -ido for -er & -ir verbs
Just an edit suggestion- it's Machu Picchu. Thanks for your many great videos. I use them with students often!
Please do videos on more subjunctive
Senor Jordan, I couldn't find the irregular verbs present perfect video. Did you post it anywhere?
¡Quería llorar antes de yo vi este video! Muchas gracias!! Your explanations are so helpful and so calmly and naturally done. Thank you :)
stepping up the animation. i likey

Muchos gracias para video. me hace claro.
Muchas gracias por el vídeo*
How can I find the present perfect practice videos and the irregular videos that you mention at the end of this video? They do not seem to be anywhere on youtube?
Where was this went I took my exam on the imperfect and preterite tense. I would have passed easily.
Wow senor Jordan, you sure are good at teaching me! Keep up the good work, hombre.
you save my Spanish grade haha
please do a video on present indicative verbs
shut up you fat piece of garbage
Whoa thankyou so much for your help

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes you but I have not had time to do the videos mentioned yet!

So in spanish have or had have conjugations similar to verbs?
Not sure what exactly you’re asking.
In the event we’re saying “have (done something)” or “had (done something)”, then the “have/had” will be conjugated like other verbs with the endings, yes.
However there is the second word we also have to add for the “(done something)” meaning which won’t really follow those rules for other tenses.
Ex:
(Yo) He hablado. - I have spoken/talked.
(Yo) Había hablando. - I had spoken/talked
(Ellos) Han comido. - They have eaten.
(Ellos) Habían comido. - They had eaten.
Does that answer your question?
the link boxes at the end of your video are not working
That's because those videos haven't been completed yet. Sorry for the inconvenience! ;-)
at about 358 did he say haber is where you get the word I from????
Where the word “hay” is from.
@@SeñorJordan oh... gracias!!! Thank you for your videos.
OMG you are awesome for making these videos! loved this, helped a lot
hi senor jordan soy mike de malasia, puede usted por favor escribe más oraciones, musha gracias.
your awesome
Where is part 2 for the present perfect? I can't find the video anywhere :(
Hopefully I can finish it this summer!
@@SeñorJordan I love and use your videos in my Spanish class. It's 2021 - I can't find the other two videos you say are available in this video. Were you able to finish them?
I can't get the links to the practices to work, can't find them in the playlists either. Help??
+Wendy Dufoe Sorry! Don't have any practice vids uploaded yet!
+Senor Jordan , ¡Ay! ¡La tragedia! But at least explain why I couldn't find them and why the links weren't working :) I'll look forward to them--love your videos!
Wendy Dufoe Sorry about that! I'm glad you like the videos! :-) Are you a student who uses them for help or a teacher who uses them for classes?
+Senor Jordan, I'm a high school teacher with upper level classes in the first time since forever! Looking forward to all those subjunctive videos you've been working on. I normally teach levels 1-3; my students know you and your videos very well!! :) Thanks for all your hard work!

It’s been over seven years and you still haven’t made a video of the irregular verbs in the present perfect in Spanish. When are you going to make one?
Soon hopefully! revamping some of these older videos in more bite-sized form! ;-)
Is there Present perfect Progressive in Spanish? Thanks for the reply in advance
Where is your video on the irregular present perfect?
Why must any mention of Spain refer to clubs in the Islas Baleares, the Sagrada Familia, and the running of the bulls in Pamplona? He forgot at least to mention la paella and el flamenco.
Who are you talking to that only ever mentions those three things?
My Spanish 2 brain can’t 🤯🤯
Hai
nice
Senor Jordan, i though -ir and -er verbs shared the same endings. that being -ido.
Yes, they both end in "ido". (except for some irregulars)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
uhh cool video
You said and wrote "el pretérito perfecto" at the beginning of the video. Did you mean to say "el presente perfecto"?
To my knowledge in Spanish it is called the pretérito perfecto while in English it’s called the present perfect. Just a matter of perspective.
It's good?
Yo he estado viendo este vídeo a pesar de que yo hablo español desde que nací, solo quería ver como aprenden los que no hablan español👌 veo que no pronuncia bien la doble (rr)
I love you
there is wrong in "haber" in the end of vedio
Hey Jordan, you should stop trying to break skulls with that big mama guitar of yours...
When aprendes a hablar tu propio idioma xdxdd
I miss los chistes
My friend who is Spanish says that you are not good and make too many mistakes and we only watched it for 2 minutes. Its not the accent that is the problem, just the grammar
I think #9 should he "un persona famoso". Even though persona ends in an A, I think it's masculine.
Actually, some words are always masculine or always feminine regardless of who they describe. Weird right? That’s because this is grammatical gender and not referring biological gender.
Two I can think of off the top of my head are:
la persona
la víctima
easy money
How do I explain the use of "Nos ha encantado la pelicula" and NOT Nos "hemos" encantado?
I would remind them that:
“Nos encanta la película” means “the movie is enchanting to us” (we love it). So movie is actually the subject. We don’t say “Nos encantamos la película.”
So when we say “have loved” it’s the same idea:
“Nos ha encantado la película” (the movie has been enchanting to us) or “we have loved it”
If they have a grasp of how gustar also has a backwards translation, it can also be used for a reference. Hope that helps!
Why doent anybody have examples of when u use this instead of simple perfect?
What do you mean by “simple perfect”?
La Sagrada Familia no es la catedral, lo siento :-(
marry me
Horrible
Gracias!
