Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! Sorry what is this drabble. The exaggerations and inflated. I pity fans like these. Watch jimin sing live coz he is cant. That is enough to tell you the reality. Please do not believe the delusions of Jimin’s fans. This is so cringy. Also prestigious titles is a stretch. If you do delve deeper into kpop everything are fabricated award and manipulated through mass buying and streaming farms in Asia which jimin fans pay. Listen and watch without any influence from obsessed fans and keep your reactions real and not just strong these rabid fan’s egos. This is the reality and the truth that they cannot accept.
Jimin wrote this song as a gift to fans since he was leaving us for a while to serve. This isn't really a "typical" music video in that sense. You might want to also check out the official music video for Like Crazy. :) Also, as a general note, Jimin is a counter tenor, so his songs are always going to be in a higher key than the other members. If you want something less melodic with more dancing, you could also check out his music video for Set Me Free Pt. 2. All the BTS members have very different personal tastes in music, so their solo work really differs from each other. For example, V, aka Taehyung, has a very blues, jazz, rnb style of solo music. J-Hope's recent solo work has been more hip-hop and alternative.
I read that after I recoded this and thought it was really sweet. I really liked the scrapbook/yearbook vibe of the video. Felt nostalgic even though it’s newer music. Jimin is ARMYs little love bug. He is always concerned about ARMY, asking them to stay warm, not get sick and take care of their health. This was a much needed morale boost for ARMY and we love Jimin for it!
Jimin is actually a trained contemporary dancer and one of BTS's main dancers, but since this was a good-bye-for-now fan-song before the military, you don't get the dancing. He DID, however, release of string of videos titled "This Is Jimin" of him dancing and the last one was to this song, which hadn't been released yet, so we got a teaser the day before its surprise drop. :)

All 7 members are now in the military. The last 4 members (which include Jungkook and Jimin) all joined together in December. All 7 should be out in 2025, so you have time to catch up (10 years!) and then enjoy with ARMY their reunion. It will be epic. Guaranteed!
The producer is PDogg, their in-house main producer, and you can bet Jimin had input and veto on everything that goes out. The producer definitely won't just do what the label tells him without feedback and approval from the artist.
That’s awesome to hear. Most producers these days are beholden to the label to make sure there are at least 3 tracks able to be mass marketed as singles. I’ve actually seen newly signed bands go in to the studio and the album version of their song is completely different than what they were playing live for the last 5 years.

They've been working together for everything (all 7 of BTS) and you can't do that long-term without mutual respect and appreciation. 💜 BTW: At the beginning of the video you see Jimin working at PDogg's house, coming up with the concept for this song while working on FACE. That's the whole point! And, yes, they just film everything. But BTS has a veto on everything that goes out.

When BTS started, the company was tiny and near bankrupt, but the founder Bang Si-hyuk, himself an award winning songwriter and producer, insisted that the music BTS put out should be based in their own experiences and passions, not made to a formula. Bang and Pdogg have acted as guides and mentors to the members from the beginning. Rather than controlling they have seen their roles as supportive, enabling the group and the members to grow as musicians and as individuals. It’s a different ethos than most of K-pop, and a lot of western pop come to that.

This song is a gift from Jimin to the Army because he went to military service, he and Jungkook decided to do their service together. Many songs are only for army, so most of the time you need a context to understand better, they are real artists so you will see many different works. Jimin's voice is soft but powerful and he is my favorite dancer in the group. All the members of BTS have different styles but at the same time they are all versatile. I always say that to understand a little of what they offer as a group you should listen to at least 10 songs, but now with their solo albums I don't know how to explain it. They are literally 7 artists who seem from different worlds and they make A LOT of music together and most of it has a lot of meaning in every detail. They love their fans very much but they love each other much more. 💜
This makes a lot of sense although… I am going to disagree that any song can be only for army. This was a beautiful song that set me in a good mood. I didn’t need context, and extensive background or a membership card. Sure, I probably would have felt that this song was specifically made just for me if I’d been a fan since day one, but a beautiful song is a beautiful song with or without prior engagements. I’m definitely interested in hearing much more and perhaps I’ll end up having a deeper connection to this song but it’s still relatable as a stand alone without context. We’ve all had a friend or two leave us to go live out their lives. I’ve been to dozens of going away parties and I know this vibe quite well. I’m definitely jumping deeper in to their discography. I’m hooked! 🐠 🤪
Actually, to be fair, I see both sides. He gave a gift to his loyal fans and I walked in and grabbed it as if my name were on the tag. That said, I still enjoyed the gift whether it was meant for me or not.

I recommend you react to "A guide to BTS members: bantang 7 by Taylor", 47 minutes but Army likes to see the reaction all at once, no matter the time. It's a good way to start, so you can enjoy each song even more.
Jimins songs are a mix of korean and English, but what is even better is that his music always plays on you emotions, while his angelic voice is expressing emotions. This is one of the reasons I love listening to his music.

I took 8 years of Taekwondo as a kid. Learned a lot about the country (my teacher lived there in the 60s and 70s) but couldn’t quite appreciate it being a little punk-nosed kid.

Jimin is one of the best dancers in BTS. This was the type of some we expected from Jimin- so imagine the surprise when “set me free pt 2” the the first single on his new solo album.
Jimin is a multifaceted man and a multitalented performer. This MV wasn't meant to show him off so much as to communicate with ARMY. It's like looking through a scrapbook of BTS' past - and BTS' connection with ARMY. We all cried when he gave us this farewell gift. 💜💜
I loved the nostalgic feel of the video. It felt like a graduation party where we knew some of our friends were going away. That said, I do need to check out some of his other songs!
The thing is the Producers are themselves plus their favourite in house Producers. Auto tune is use as stylisict choice so you'll hear it and it's ment to be heard. When they sing live you hear everything even when Jimin's voice cracked at a live concert and he was in tears back stage about it. Jimin is a counter Tenor which is very unusual. You hear when they don't have enough breath to sing a phrase/word as you'll hear nothing but the music be it the live band or the backing track. In fact his in P Dogg's house he spend a couple of months living there and we saw the bts footage of Jimin working on lyrics, making melodies and working as a Producer with P Dogg. This song was made at the same time he wrote, composed, sung and produced with (P Dogg's Help) his album Face. But he's didn't want this song to be on his album as his album was all about his thoughts, feelings, personal battles in covid. As you said this song was a gift to ARMY and is about the relationship between Jimin the rest of BTS and us (ARMY). He wanted it held back to be released until he had entered military service and kept it secret. The BTS members have been preparing so many things for us before they start their military service, we just never know what is going to come out and when or by which member. They do like to keep us on our toes. As they are all different we are so lucky we get so many different genre's and mix of genre's from them. One of the things that is very very different about the relationship between BTS and their company is the fact they have complete creative freedom that includes if they get offered as song it's down to BTS to say yeah or nay. It's what their CEO Band PD wanted. He wanted real artists and they only way to do that was to give them creative freedom and told them 'you write your stories in your music'. That's why BTS are a group of 7 Song Writers, 7 Composers, 7 Producers and yes RM is also a Sound Engineer. Each member does all these thing to a greater or lesser ext. Suga (aka Agust D) is in fact an award winning Producer for another artist at another company in fact he's the Producer for other artists.

Jimin put this together before he joined up, on the same day as Jungkook, to reassure the fans, Army, that he will not release us. He is so good at the intimate song, he makes each Army feel that he is singing to them exclusively. Other side of Jimin would be Like Crazy, or Set Me Free pt 2, you will hear autotune used well, and lots of dancing. Jimin is the best dancer in BTS.
It's actually really sweet that he put this song together. He (and the rest of BTS) really do seem to care about the fans and have a great connection with ARMY. I'll be checking out lots more in the days and weeks to come!

Thank you for your defence of ‘auto-tune’ - because a lot of haters will accuse BTS members, especially Jimin, of using auto-tune - as if he is the only singer in the world who does it.
People get VERY angry about it. If they knew how music was really REALLY made they might lose their minds. Almost every drum track you hear is either entirely electronic or enhanced yet no one ever complains about that. 💜🤪
the only member fluent in english is RM, the main rapper and the leader of the group. the rest can speak a little and understand to a certain degree, some more than others. not that it matters, cuz english subs exist thankfully ahahah jimin gifted us this heartfelt song after his enlistment. thats the kind of artists bts are. they always think about their fans. can't wait for them to reunite in 2025. in order to understand their music you need to also get context cuz everything they do means something. glad youre discovering them, there's plenty of time till they get back. also, there are many resources available to get to know the their message, personality and whats their inspiration. i can assure u they will get you sooner than later, it happened to me too. maybe check out some boracity videos, the taylor guide and so much more. have fun on your journey and ask us anything youre curious about, army knows everything!

Liked your reaction. Jimin is an amazing singer, and is his own harshest critic. All the boys sing beautifully, and yep they can and will sometimes use auto tune for effect, but it never masks their voices, or is used because they can’t sing. But they also have some of the very best live vocals out there, so much so that I feel that their live performances are better sounding than the track. Cypher 3 from their Busan concert is an example, in my opinion. That whole concert was honestly. Have fun and I look forward to the next reaction.

I think you should check out his song “Set me free Pt 2”. It’s got some intensity to it, enough for a Canadian TV sports channel to play his song before broadcasting baseball after each commercial.

This song was recorded music video possibly two or three months ago. It was released roughly one week after the last four members of BTS joined the South Korean military. The last four members to join were RM the leader, Jungkook who joined with Jimin on the buddy system they train together they're assigned together. And the last member V stage name who has joined the special forces capital protection unit. A elite special forces unit tasked with protecting the capital of South Korea Seoul which is very close to the border with North Korea from attack by North Korea! The two oldest members of BTS Jen who joined the military in December 2020 2 and Jay Holt who joined in around October 2022. Will both be discharged in mid and late 2024 having finished their basic military requirement I don't know for sure, but they're possibly put into a inactive reserve to be recalled in case of invasion.

You can make the CC larger. This is an exercise in nostalgia. This is more like a letter to ARMY going over some of the shared memories. His album FACE, perhaps FILTER, or SERENDIPITY would give you a better idea of his unique style. Most people would reccomend LIKE CRAZY or SET ME FREE of FACE. Both of those are different genre but brilliant. Jimin is slso one of the most admired dancers in kpop.

As others have said, watching "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" by Taylor Mari is so worthwhile if you are keen to know these guys better. It is a bit lengthy so you might prefer to watch it privately rather than do a reaction on YT [tho gotta say, ARMY LOVE watching people react to it] I could suggest this song and that song and this performance and that performance - there is so much it's mind boggling. I will say this though...you are in for one of the best 'go down the rabbit hole' experiences there is in music currently. They truly are that good. While this song was made for ARMY, it's really a great song for anyone who has shared a similar experience of leaving friends behind to go deal with a necessary commitment (college, military, job transfer, etc.). I'm really enjoying the bts content you're putting out. BTS songs are for everyone, including casual listeners. A lot is geared towards their fans and there's a lot of Easter eggs so fans will probably get more out of it. But you don't have to know everything about them to enjoy their music. Lyrics are really important to them, but they also focus a lot on making sure you enjoy it aurally. When I started listening to them, I just enjoyed the music (and was shocked that i liked every song they put out). Usually I'll like a song from an artist, look them up and usually only like a couple of their songs. But I went through their discography and loved or liked everything. That was years ago and I only have one song I dont really like out of their entire discography from their group and solo work. Only after going through their whole discography did I later get into the lyrics and their live performances. Hope to see more bts videos from you.

Haegeum is part of a trilogy (Deachwita, Haegeum and Amygdala) in that order. If you choose to listen to them here's some context. Deachwita - (pronounced phonetically De-chi-ta) is the type of music that would play when the Army is marching or to announce the arrival of the King. Haegeum - (pronounced phonetically Hey-gum) has 2 meanings. 1) A 2 stringed instrument played with a bow. 2) A lifting of a ban or prohibition. Amygdala - Medical word for an almond shaped part of the brain that stores memories (traumatic or otherwise) and can be used to instill our fight or flight response to bad situations. There's more to the meaning but this give the relevant context for the MV. In all 3 MV's AgustD (aka SUGA) plays 2 roles. I only mention this part because if your new to BTS you won't realize that it's him playing both main characters in the first MV (Deachwita). I could go on but then it would be spoilers.
Many of BTS's song ar a mix of English and Korean. They have 3 songs that are all in English. All 7 members are currently serving. This song is a fan song. the video show moments through out their career starting June 13th, 2013. Them winning a major award in Asia, Winning a Billboard award. To fans (ARMY) it will comfort us, while we wait forr them to be back. For a non fan it is still a good song, but won't have emotional meaning. Jimin does dance, he actually studied dance before joining. Check out a live version of his Song Like Crazy. All members dance, Their Live performances at the MMAs and MAMAs are legendary.

Auto tune also can be used for different effects like a echo. Jungkook has perfect pitch, V is close, BTS is different , the guys since 2017 have almost total control. Soprano's are woman. Jimin has a Fsharp 5. which would be in a alto's range.
Perhaps I should have said countertenor. As for autotune, I don’t ever mean it in a negative way when I bring it up. It’s basically industry standard even for people who have perfect pitch and sing everything right on key… although hearing how much control the guys have means they may defy industry norms on the recording studio.

For the mix of English and Korean, Koreans have to take English classes while in school. However, for a lot of Koreans, it's similar to U.S. kids taking Spanish classes for a few years in school. You can read and recognize many Spanish words but not speak or understand it fluently. Because of U.S. influence in South Korea, they have a lot English words in their daily vernacular. RM (BTS's leader) speaks very fluent English. But all members of BTS have been cramming English studies for the past few years to get better at it. I believe they can all read and write English very well, but are still shy about speaking it as they're working on pronunciation. Jungkook is probably the best English speaker behind RM but the others are working hard at it, too. I think they're doing that to be able to communicate better with international Armies on their live streaming and to help RM when they do interviews overseas since RM was almost always having to translate during interviews and it was mentally exhausting him.
That’s awesome! I took 2 years of French in middle school and 3 years of Spanish in high school. I barely remember any of it… and almost all the Spanish I know now is from working in restaurants in my 20s. I do love seeing the commitment to get as proficient as possible. Clearly they don’t NEED to, but it really does seem like a want stemming from fan appreciation!
@ReactionsThatRock Yes. And JHope has made it the most clear that he's doing it to help RM with interviews. I think it made him feel sad to see RM having to deal with it by himself in a lot of cases. Especially all the stupid questions U.S. interviewers asked them during promotions and tours. Very cringey stuff. But RM usually handled it with grace, along with some passive aggressiveness that was hilarious because he does it so well.

Funny to be said, Jimin is one of the two main dancers in BTS, but this video and song is a present for us fans when he enlisted, so it's no a glamorous one but a soft one instead. Maybe this wasn't the best video to start with for you, especially after Jk's. If you want something different, watch "Set Me Free pt. 2" or "Like Crazy". Keep in mind that most of BTS production is in Korean, with a splash of English. Same goes with their solos

Ofc you'll see it was for army and we are proud to say that such an artist with a beautiful soul give it to us hehe. But as Suga (which Im sure you will react to his solo music) said in other words: if you really give us the opportunity you will never leave BTS... 1. So please enjoy at your pace (we are loud, cos we are happy to share and see others be mindblowing by our boys), not need to be rush to be army or pick up a favorite member, you´ll get there if you're destined to it. :) 2. Yess, Live vids are the best and for me was a way to really appreciated them as artists, the connection and energy they have with army. There´s lots of content, keeping with the live ones there's Tiny Desk, BTS Live Room, Yet to Come Live with Anderson Paak, then there are all the backstage clips and a variety show called Run BTS. 4. My recommendation, continue with the solo stuff, then if you're willing to know more about then try the Taylor BTS Guide so you get to know where they come from; and then go back in time (is just a suggestion) there's plenty of music since 2013, published and not official published. 5. My wife watches it on our TV here and in our vacation cabin so the algorithm often shows me cooking shows or cruise ship videos which has nothing to do with me. I would like to ask if you could increase the size of the captions on the videos that you are reacting to. You go to settings, captions, options and increase size. It just helps so the people like me can see the lyrics too. Just a request. I also agree that the Korean music industry really leans into everyone singing in the upper stratosphere. I actually prefer when singers (male or female) are singing in a lower register. Like seriously Rick Astley was popular for a reason lol. One last thing. I know what you are saying about autotune. It can be used in many ways (not just to correct pitch). I will just say this - BTS always sound better live than they do on their albums. And you should know how much harder it is to sing live than it is to record in a studio.

I've heard great things about a BTS live show. Personally, I think studio used auto tune has taken some of the nuance out of vocals... but it is what it is.

Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy.
Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!!
So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey!
JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! Jimin wrote this song as a gift to fans since he was leaving us for a while to serve. This isn't really a "typical" music video in that sense. You might want to also check out the official music video for Like Crazy. :)
Also, as a general note, Jimin is a counter tenor, so his songs are always going to be in a higher key than the other members.
If you want something less melodic with more dancing, you could also check out his music video for Set Me Free Pt. 2.
All the BTS members have very different personal tastes in music, so their solo work really differs from each other.
For example, V, aka Taehyung, has a very blues, jazz, rnb style of solo music.
J-Hope's recent solo work has been more hip-hop and alternative.

Jimin is actually a trained contemporary dancer and one of BTS's main dancers, but since this was a good-bye-for-now fan-song before the military, you don't get the dancing. He DID, however, release of string of videos titled "This Is Jimin" of him dancing and the last one was to this song, which hadn't been released yet, so we got a teaser the day before its surprise drop. :)

All 7 members are now in the military. The last 4 members (which include Jungkook and Jimin) all joined together in December. All 7 should be out in 2025, so you have time to catch up (10 years!) and then enjoy with ARMY their reunion. It will be epic. Guaranteed!

The producer is PDogg, their in-house main producer, and you can bet Jimin had input and veto on everything that goes out. The producer definitely won't just do what the label tells him without feedback and approval from the artist.
That’s awesome to hear. Most producers these days are beholden to the label to make sure there are at least 3 tracks able to be mass marketed as singles.
I’ve actually seen newly signed bands go in to the studio and the album version of their song is completely different than what they were playing live for the last 5 years.

When BTS started, the company was tiny and near bankrupt, but the founder Bang Si-hyuk, himself an award winning songwriter and producer, insisted that the music BTS put out should be based in their own experiences and passions, not made to a formula. Bang and Pdogg have acted as guides and mentors to the members from the beginning. Rather than controlling they have seen their roles as supportive, enabling the group and the members to grow as musicians and as individuals. It’s a different ethos than most of K-pop, and a lot of western pop come to that.

This song is a gift from Jimin to the Army because he went to military service, he and Jungkook decided to do their service together.
Many songs are only for army, so most of the time you need a context to understand better, they are real artists so you will see many different works.
Jimin's voice is soft but powerful and he is my favorite dancer in the group.
All the members of BTS have different styles but at the same time they are all versatile.
I always say that to understand a little of what they offer as a group you should listen to at least 10 songs, but now with their solo albums I don't know how to explain it.
They are literally 7 artists who seem from different worlds and they make A LOT of music together and most of it has a lot of meaning in every detail.
They love their fans very much but they love each other much more. 💜

This was a beautiful song that set me in a good mood. I didn’t need context, and extensive background or a membership card.
Sure, I probably would have felt that this song was specifically made just for me if I’d been a fan since day one, but a beautiful song is a beautiful song with or without prior engagements.
I’m definitely interested in hearing much more and perhaps I’ll end up having a deeper connection to this song but it’s still relatable as a stand alone without context. We’ve all had a friend or two leave us to go live out their lives. I’ve been to dozens of going away parties and I know this vibe quite well.

Jimins songs are a mix of korean and English, but what is even better is that his music always plays on you emotions, while his angelic voice is expressing emotions. This is one of the reasons I love listening to his music.

I took 8 years of Taekwondo as a kid. Learned a lot about the country (my teacher lived there in the 60s and 70s) but couldn’t quite appreciate it being a little punk-nosed kid.

Thanks for your reaction. Jimin is one of the vocalist of BTS and one of the main dancers. The group had its beginnings being a more hip hop group... over time it diversified handling genres such as: R&B, Pop, EDM, Rock, Jazz
There are a rap sub unit within the group and a vocal sub unit where the rappers have few songs by themselves and the same with vocal line... But most of their songs as a complete group combines rap and vocals in Korean with a little bit of english

Jimin is a multifaceted man and a multitalented performer. This MV wasn't meant to show him off so much as to communicate with ARMY. It's like looking through a scrapbook of BTS' past - and BTS' connection with ARMY. We all cried when he gave us this farewell gift. 💜💜
I loved the nostalgic feel of the video. It felt like a graduation party where we knew some of our friends were going away. That said, I do need to check out some of his other songs!
The thing is the Producers are themselves plus their favourite in house Producers. Auto tune is use as stylisict choice so you'll hear it and it's ment to be heard. When they sing live you hear everything even when Jimin's voice cracked at a live concert and he was in tears back stage about it. Jimin is a counter Tenor which is very unusual. You hear when they don't have enough breath to sing a phrase/word as you'll hear nothing but the music be it the live band or the backing track.
In fact his in P Dogg's house he spend a couple of months living there and we saw the bts footage of Jimin working on lyrics, making melodies and working as a Producer with P Dogg. This song was made at the same time he wrote, composed, sung and produced with (P Dogg's Help) his album Face. But he's didn't want this song to be on his album as his album was all about his thoughts, feelings, personal battles in covid.
As you said this song was a gift to ARMY and is about the relationship between Jimin the rest of BTS and us (ARMY). He wanted it held back to be released until he had entered military service and kept it secret.
The BTS members have been preparing so many things for us before they start their military service, we just never know what is going to come out and when or by which member. They do like to keep us on our toes.
As they are all different we are so lucky we get so many different genre's and mix of genre's from them.
One of the things that is very very different about the relationship between BTS and their company is the fact they have complete creative freedom that includes if they get offered as song it's down to BTS to say yeah or nay. It's what their CEO Band PD wanted. He wanted real artists and they only way to do that was to give them creative freedom and told them 'you write your stories in your music'. That's why BTS are a group of 7 Song Writers, 7 Composers, 7 Producers and yes RM is also a Sound Engineer. Each member does all these thing to a greater or lesser ext. Suga (aka Agust D) is in fact an award winning Producer for another artist at another company in fact he's the Producer for other artists.

Jimin is actually one of the main dancers in BTS and I love that most of his songs have intricate choreography. My favorite is "Serendipity", but his recent songs have amazing choreography as well, "Set Me Free pt 2" and "Like Crazy" (#1 Billboard song).

Jimin put this together before he joined up, on the same day as Jungkook, to reassure the fans, Army, that he will not release us. He is so good at the intimate song, he makes each Army feel that he is singing to them exclusively.
Other side of Jimin would be Like Crazy, or Set Me Free pt 2, you will hear autotune used well, and lots of dancing. Jimin is the best dancer in BTS.
It's actually really sweet that he put this song together. He (and the rest of BTS) really do seem to care about the fans and have a great connection with ARMY. I'll be checking out lots more in the days and weeks to come!

Liked your reaction. Jimin is an amazing singer, and is his own harshest critic. All the boys sing beautifully, and yep they can and will sometimes use auto tune for effect, but it never masks their voices, or is used because they can’t sing. But they also have some of the very best live vocals out there, so much so that I feel that their live performances are better sounding than the track. Cypher 3 from their Busan concert is an example, in my opinion. That whole concert was honestly. Have fun and I look forward to the next reaction.

I think you should check out his song “Set me free Pt 2”. It’s got some intensity to it, enough for a Canadian TV sports channel to play his song before broadcasting baseball after each commercial.

This song was recorded music video possibly two or three months ago. It was released roughly one week after the last four members of BTS joined the South Korean military. The last four members to join were RM the leader, Jungkook who joined with Jimin on the buddy system they train together they're assigned together. And the last member V stage name who has joined the special forces capital protection unit. A elite special forces unit tasked with protecting the capital of South Korea Seoul which is very close to the border with North Korea from attack by North Korea! The two oldest members of BTS Jen who joined the military in December 2020 2 and Jay Holt who joined in around October 2022. Will both be discharged in mid and late 2024 having finished their basic military requirement I don't know for sure, but they're possibly put into a inactive reserve to be recalled in case of invasion.
That screams volumes that V went on to do special forces. I KNEW these guys were more badass than they let on!!!

You can make the CC larger. This is an exercise in nostalgia. This is more like a letter to ARMY going over some of the shared memories. His album FACE, perhaps FILTER, or SERENDIPITY would give you a better idea of his unique style. Most people would reccomend LIKE CRAZY or SET ME FREE of FACE. Both of those are different genre but brilliant. Jimin is slso one of the most admired dancers in kpop.

As others have said, watching "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" by Taylor Mari is so worthwhile if you are keen to know these guys better. It is a bit lengthy so you might prefer to watch it privately rather than do a reaction on YT [tho gotta say, ARMY LOVE watching people react to it] I could suggest this song and that song and this performance and that performance - there is so much it's mind boggling. I'm really enjoying the bts content you're putting out. BTS songs are for everyone, including casual listeners. A lot is geared towards their fans and there's a lot of Easter eggs so fans will probably get more out of it. But you don't have to know everything about them to enjoy their music. Lyrics are really important to them, but they also focus a lot on making sure you enjoy it aurally. When I started listening to them, I just enjoyed the music (and was shocked that i liked every song they put out). Usually I'll like a song from an artist, look them up and usually only like a couple of their songs. But I went through their discography and loved or liked everything. That was years ago and I only have one song I dont really like out of their entire discography from their group and solo work. Only after going through their whole discography did I later get into the lyrics and their live performances. Hope to see more bts videos from you.

Haegeum is part of a trilogy (Deachwita, Haegeum and Amygdala) in that order. If you choose to listen to them here's some context.
Deachwita - (pronounced phonetically De-chi-ta) is the type of music that would play when the Army is marching or to announce the arrival of the King.
Haegeum - (pronounced phonetically Hey-gum) has 2 meanings.
1) A 2 stringed instrument played with a bow.
2) A lifting of a ban or prohibition.
Amygdala - Medical word for an almond shaped part of the brain that stores memories (traumatic or otherwise) and can be used to instill our fight or flight response to bad situations. There's more to the meaning but this give the relevant context for the MV.
In all 3 MV's AgustD (aka SUGA) plays 2 roles. I only mention this part because if your new to BTS you won't realize that it's him playing both main characters in the first MV (Deachwita). I could go on but then it would be spoilers.
Great list, but I would suggest Agust D's Daechwita BEFORE Haegeum because it is song 1 of a trilogy.

Many of BTS's song ar a mix of English and Korean. They have 3 songs that are all in English. All 7 members are currently serving.
This song is a fan song. the video show moments through out their career starting June 13th, 2013. Them winning a major award in Asia, Winning a Billboard award. To fans (ARMY) it will comfort us, while we wait forr them to be back. For a non fan it is still a good song, but won't have emotional meaning.
Jimin does dance, he actually studied dance before joining. Check out a live version of his Song Like Crazy.
All members dance, Their Live performances at the MMAs and MAMAs are legendary.

Auto tune also can be used for different effects like a echo. Jungkook has perfect pitch, V is close, BTS is different , the guys since 2017 have almost total control. Soprano's are woman. Jimin has a Fsharp 5. which would be in a alto's range.
Perhaps I should have said countertenor. As for autotune, I don’t ever mean it in a negative way when I bring it up. It’s basically industry standard even for people who have perfect pitch and sing everything right on key… although hearing how much control the guys have means they may defy industry norms on the recording studio.

For the mix of English and Korean, Koreans have to take English classes while in school. However, for a lot of Koreans, it's similar to U.S. kids taking Spanish classes for a few years in school. You can read and recognize many Spanish words but not speak or understand it fluently. Because of U.S. influence in South Korea, they have a lot English words in their daily vernacular.
RM (BTS's leader) speaks very fluent English. But all members of BTS have been cramming English studies for the past few years to get better at it. I believe they can all read and write English very well, but are still shy about speaking it as they're working on pronunciation. Jungkook is probably the best English speaker behind RM but the others are working hard at it, too.
I think they're doing that to be able to communicate better with international Armies on their live streaming and to help RM when they do interviews overseas since RM was almost always having to translate during interviews and it was mentally exhausting him.
That’s awesome! I took 2 years of French in middle school and 3 years of Spanish in high school. I barely remember any of it… and almost all the Spanish I know now is from working in restaurants in my 20s.
I do love seeing the commitment to get as proficient as possible. Clearly they don’t NEED to, but it really does seem like a want stemming from fan appreciation!
@ReactionsThatRock Yes. And JHope has made it the most clear that he's doing it to help RM with interviews. I think it made him feel sad to see RM having to deal with it by himself in a lot of cases. Especially all the stupid questions U.S. interviewers asked them during promotions and tours. Very cringey stuff. But RM usually handled it with grace, along with some passive aggressiveness that was hilarious because he does it so well.

Funny to be said, Jimin is one of the two main dancers in BTS, but this video and song is a present for us fans when he enlisted, so it's no a glamorous one but a soft one instead. Maybe this wasn't the best video to start with for you, especially after Jk's.

Keep in mind that most of BTS production is in Korean, with a splash of English. Same goes with their solos

1. So please enjoy at your pace (we are loud, cos we are happy to share and see others be mindblowing by our boys), not need to be rush to be army or pick up a favorite member, you´ll get there if you're destined to it. :)
2. Yess, Live vids are the best and for me was a way to really appreciated them as artists, the connection and energy they have with army. I know kpop from long ago, even at those times my mind was like you: so stereotypical about boybands, I liked a few Korean boy groups, good artists, but after a long pause from kpop, BTS came into my life and I couldn't be happier now.
3. There´s lots of content, keeping with the live ones there's Tiny Desk, BTS Live Room, Yet to Come Live with Anderson Paak, then there are all the backstage clips and a variety show called Run BTS.
4. My recommendation, continue with the solo stuff, then if you're willing to know more about then try the Taylor BTS Guide so you get to know where they come from; and then go back in time (is just a suggestion) there's plenty of music since 2013, published and not official published.

This is his goodbye song going in to the military with JK (they are "companion soldiers" doing their service together - like twins or something, well the 7 are like literal brothers to each other and JK is 2 years younger than Jimin at the same age as Jimin's own real little brother) that is inherently melancolic because, he will miss us and we will miss him. And the whole MV is about our memories together from the last 10,5 years.

I wouldn’t have picked this song to introduce to Jimin as it’s more of a cute fan song but that’s okay. It’s still a great song. Jimin has been voted best kpop dancer 5 years in a row. You didn’t really pick the song for dancing 🤣

I would like to ask if you could increase the size of the captions on the videos that you are reacting to. You go to settings, captions, options and increase size. It just helps so the people like me can see the lyrics too. Just a request.
I also agree that the Korean music industry really leans into everyone singing in the upper stratosphere. I actually prefer when singers (male or female) are singing in a lower register. Like seriously Rick Astley was popular for a reason lol.
One last thing. I know what you are saying about autotune. It can be used in many ways (not just to correct pitch). I will just say this - BTS always sound better live than they do on their albums. And you should know how much harder it is to sing live than it is to record in a studio.
I never even thought about that with the captions!!! I'll bump 'em up big time since my own eyeballs are rather defective. Let's make it easier for everyone!
I've heard great things about a BTS live show. Personally, I think studio used auto tune has taken some of the nuance out of vocals... but it is what it is.
@@ReactionsThatRock BTS and Coldplay collaborated for MY UNIVERSE. There is a short documentary that shows the making of the song and the members recording in the studio. If your interested I can leave you the links to the both or you could look them up. The documentary is only 13 minutes long but you need captions for most of it. It's just a good inside view of how they record in general.
